I think it shows just how much England has moved on, even forgotten, about the war of independence. A recent poll found that just under 70% of Brits don't even know that GB once ruled America. So it's likely most in that stadium don't even realise the historical connections between the song and their country.

F.S.K. wrote a *poem.* It wasn't until years and years later that it was put to music. If you explained this whole thing to him, he probably wouldn't know whether to double-over laughing, or look around and remark, wonderingly, "Do these monarchists not understand how ridiculous they appear? The military forces of the republic that rejected them just accomplished a 'practice attack' on them?! And they applaud and cheer?!" Heck, this is almost a routine happening to _me,_ but even to me, this strikes me as a bit ironic/strange! Not objecting - just noting it; but I suspect that there are some subjects of the Monarchy that find it a tad odd & disconcerting.

Say what you will about Levy, but using the stadium for NFL, boxing and music during international breaks has done amazing things for the local businesses in the area. At least he didn't pack up and move the club to Stratford, forcing local businesses to shut down and bringing more business to the big corporations in Westfield.

Same thing with NFL in America. And when you consider the size of each country it's gonna take a lot longer for NFL to become an official company.

@@brianstacey2679 The singer is supposed to start at a specific time/second to match up with the planes coming over. The planes have a specific time they fly over and I trust their accuracy more than the singer, so it's up to the singer really.

@@audilicous This is exactly wrong. The flight has a ground observer on frequency with them advising, by single key words of the song, where the singer is at in the song. The flight is to adjust speed for the "timing". Even though they were early, this worked out well.

It's too bad the guy sang so slowly; it screwed-up the timing of the fly-over. They should have had him practice it several times, each time timing it; then made sure to tell him to _not_ slow down his tempo - & then make sure the musicians followed suit!

The Green Bay Packers are the only NFL team to not have played a game in London because they sell out every home game and they are not willing to lose a home game playing in another country. And because teams they visit always sellout when they play the Packers, those teams choose not to use that game against the Packers to play away in another country.
