Most teams have political side. For excample a team can be far right or far left etc. It all goes back to how the team was founded and theirfans support it in everything. Also every team is based in a city, so if the city has one political view then thats the political view that their team has.

In Morocco the stadium is the only place where you can criticize the government without ending up in jail.

That's a lie... Although criticism towards the royal family may have consequences in Morrocco, criticism of the government had no punishment at all. Actually there's frequent anti-government protest and Morroccan reporters criticize the government all the time, there's political satire on Morrocan TV and a lot of Morrocan bloggers criticize their government daily. Don't be talking shit about something you don't know anything about.

@@leontinemccain5170 Well I just said what I have seen being said a few times online by other from Morocco. I took for granted that it was true as they live there, but it's probably like everything else different ways of perception from individual to individual.

In alot of repressed countries with authoritarian governments the football stadium is the only place where people can speak their minds, in the stadium they're protected by their sheer numbers so it's no wonder that football is often intertwined with politics, in Egypt for example 2 ultras groups were partly responsible for the revolution in 2011

Same was in Lithuania during soviet times. Soviets forbid use of our national flag and it was serious offence. Then during one football match some group of people brought that flag and that is how ultras group started. Every week more and more people used to join them with flags and singing about freedom from soviets.

@@carkawalakhatulistiwa I am talking what happened in Lithuania. Vilniaus Žalgiris and Pietų IV (south 4) the name for ultras group came from the stand where it was formed. Maybe same things happened in Poland aswell

I dont usually comment but as a Kenitra AC supporter i had to explain a few things. I've been been supporting the team since the 90s my father took me to the stadium with him as a toddler and it's the case of everyone from kenitra. I'll give the context of the song and the meaning of the banner. The song actually doesn't just represent our team or our supporters. The song is dedicated to all ultras around the world because ultars are not well seen in by gouvernement and society in almost every country. And the song kinda translates to different communities (not just football supporters) whom might be facing the same struggles in a different context. Helala boys (kenitra ac supporters) have been making albums with anywhere between 8 to 16 chants every year since 2007 in addition to older (before ultra was created) songs that are not documented anywhere and still people to these can sing them and a lot of the songs are not political they are about having fun supporting and loving our team. They came out with this song after they passed a law to ban the entrance to ultras and no form of organized supporting in the stands in all Morocco. The banner says "today 13.12 and forever" so the was December the 13 ( in Europe its DD/MM/YY) which first can be translated to ( we're gonna support you today and forever) and second 1312 in alphabetical order is acab so the banner can also mean " today acab and forever" this game was one of the very first game we played at night ever. 2012 or 2013 can't really remember but i can remember how electrical the atmosphere was in the stands. I gotta also say that since then the ultra have changed their vision. To a more peaceful approach and message, though The goal is still the same freedom for ultras. Thanks for the reaction i was kinda late to the party haha

2nd song. from Morocco . Many people don't know when you live in an authoritarian country. the government ban people gathering and demonstrating. The only place where people can congregate to insult the government without being arrested is the football station.

More appropriate translation for San Lorenzo, the Pope's team as he grew up in Boedo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. They say that we are out of our minds But San Lorenzo pays no interest We drink pure wine from the bottle And we smoke all the marijuana

Yoo everybody stop saying Morrocco is an authoritarian country. That's just factual wrong and in most cases fuelled by Islamophobia. Morrocco has it's problems like it being a monarchy with a very religious royal family being one of them. But saying Morrocco is authoritarian is just pure bullshit. Morrocco has had 5 different governments in the last 20 years that's equal to the amount of different governments France has had in 20 years, Morrocan Prime Ministers can only serve one 4 year term, the Morrocan parliament has more parties than the American and Canadian Parliaments together. Currently the Morrocan government is formed out of a coalition of 3 parties from a pretty wide political spectrum. Sounds authoritarian to you??? The Casa Blanca song was about specific legislation on ultras and the use of flares in stadiums. (Legislation European countries pushed through in the 90s and early 2000s as well). So everybody who doesn't know the political status of Morrocco and just posts crap just STOP or at least read up on it before bullshitting and spreading misinformation.

MLS has done a good job at controlling groups within the U.S. but you can find pyro shows in old Chicago Fire photos from back in the day. DC United put out a banner years ago reminding the team and the league they have no privileges to give supporters, it's a privilege to have groups organize and want to support them.
