Why do you want to move? Doesn't nurse in USA earn more money?
@NursesMove
@NursesMove 2 жыл бұрын
Because money is not the only thing. Wellbeing is most important and at the moment, despite wevare faith for a fare pay raise, the UK is the country that offers the most to nurses. This is in terms of work life balance and helthy working place conditions other that progression in education and career

Thank you very much for your nice comment! I hopevyou subscribed to the channel because I am working on USA series wich I release soon, and it actually seems easier to go from UK to USA in terms of registration process but of course changing life and way of doing things is not so easy... just needs a bit time to adjust 😉

Just choose the state where you’re planning to move to. Or, the easiest Board of Nursing as of Nov-2021 is Texas and NMI then once you’ve passed your NCLEX, you can just do license endorsement to the state where you want to work and live. ✨

This is great, but for someone who wanted to make the most out of there skills and training the US was the best option for me, I work 4 days a week, 45 to 50 hours, 250k+ in California since year two of becoming a basic registered nurse. I became a nurse practitioner and work one day a week keep my skills up for 6 hours and 1,000 usd bonus money.. I will only work for 5 more years and retire, unfortunately those options were never available to me in the UK no matter how much I advance. I can afford to take my own time off, invest how I want, etc. Quite frankly, the nurses in the UK just simply deserve to be earning more money. I support the strike!
@NursesMove
@NursesMove 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your support! Yes it is so true we deserve a pay raise. However every country offers different benefits and has different obstacles. It is dependent on one's personal needs. It is true, UK has not the highest salary, but it pays for training, scholarships internships, masters and even PhDs, the registration whit the nmc is quite simple and smooth, also in uk there are 8 weeks annual leave (paid), up to 14 months maternity leave (paid), children benefits and research opportunities. UK is still the country that offers the most in nursing at the moment.

How are the other countries in Europe for the USA nurses? Belgium? Netherland? Spain? Thanks 😊
@NursesMove
@NursesMove 2 жыл бұрын
The nursing is different country by country because nursing evolved following the evolution of the society. Roles are different as the scope of practice is different. No always has a profession that we can define indipendent or intellectual, in germany we could say their role is very limited like something between LPN and the Nurse helper (if I can say to let you understand asvyou are in USA) Some Countries have nursing degrees and some have nursing associate diploma.. Some Countries have both. So to move abroad you have to understand if your qualification is recognized in a certain country or not. I hope I answered your question

@NursesMove

Yes! But not every country requires a language certificate but it is important to understand that in Europe nurses has different roles and the scope of practice is very different. In some Countries nurses are completely dependent from doctors and not allow to do invasive procedures or assessments

Why would you move to the UK and nurse there when the pay is so poor?
@NursesMove
@NursesMove 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! This is a good point actually! Lots of American Nurses decide to move abroad because tired about the work conditions. In UK actually the pay is not that poor, especially considering other countries but besides that the salary increases every year plus increases if your career goes up. But most importantly because there are things that for some people are more important that just the salary: work-life balance, for example 8 weeks of annual leave, maternity leave payed 100% for 6 months and 50% for extra 3 months, seek leave paid, masters and PhD payed by the NHS, interniship payed by the NHS. Also working as an agency nurse or in the private sector there are good chances to make good money!

Why is the work-life balance in US worse than UK?
@NursesMove
@NursesMove 2 жыл бұрын
Nursing evolvs folowing the society's evolution. Each country has a different approach and management of nursing because of that, this is why we assist to a nursing cultural shock as well. I believe because in usa the health system is private and this is why the travel nurses have a better life... They are the apical representation of the private health system. But this is my personal point of view
