I used to think I didn't need comedies on 4k, but now I think anything shot on film could use a 4k. Can't hardly wait was great in 4k IMO too. As you said, it's like someone turned the lights on. Once you see the difference, you can't unsee it.

I 100% agree! Comedies are movies too & even if it’s not a 4k, I believe in film restoration & restoring the original camera negative Plus, sometimes people just need to SEE the difference haha

I always thought this movie looked way too dark most of the time even back then. That 90s look might fit Scream but a 'sunny' movie like American Pie was ment to look like this 4K edition

This is one of my favorite franchises too! Funds are tight so I'm waiting to see if the price comes down. I really hope we get a US Region A release of this, and eventually the whole franchise on 4K in a nice box set. That would be the dream and I'd eat ramen for 2 months to afford that box set!

yea I really hope we get more editions. The 4k is region free but yea the bluray is sadly region locked. I really want all 4 theatrical movies to come to 4K. I doubt the start to video films will haha

A lot of Blu-ray’s have that blue and always hated it. Same with lots of 4ks having a dark blue/gray wash.

Usually how discs are authored when there are two cuts of a film is with branching points. So 98% of the video is the same shared video and it will branch to the extra footage in the unrated version and then branch back to the same shared video. So there is no need for two discs and the bit rate is still the same. I worked in QC of physical media so I have had to check thousands of Audio streams and subtitle streams at the branching points to make sure they are seemless with no audio glitches or flashing subtitles.

The 4Ks come out here in Europe, but the new VHS only in America. You can't have both formats at once...

I see some improvements in the transfer but the movie has always had a dull look in it's colors. I'm guessing mostly for being such a low budget movie. I do think we will see a US 4k release at some point and I could see the American Pie series being a good match with Arrow.
