Wonderful. As a life-long New Englander this is close to home. As though I walked down the street in a town in which I had lived for decades into a museum or historic homestead that I, to my shame, had never visited and discovered some flashes of detail that altered my vision of the landscape to which I had become so accustomed.

Last part of my research Puritan poets you mentioned famous Puritan poems theme , their biographies briefly here it’s Michael wiggle worth ( 1631 - 1705 ) he was English Puritan , physician, minister , whose poem day of doom was best seller in early New England. Day of doom about Laments back sliding of Puritan sin and complacency. Edward Taylor ( 1642- 1729) he was colonial American poet , physician of English origin. His poetry American barque characterized as well as metaphysical. His poem preparatory meditation about desire to approach understanding of god grace . Ann Bradstreet ( 1612- 1672) she was among most prominent of early English poets in North America colonist to be published. She is first Puritan figure in American literature and notable for her large corpus of poetry. Her poem prologue ( 1650) portrays her struggle in a way of becoming professional writer In Puritan society. Genre of poem is sonnet. I hope you like my research. Good luck to you your dearest ones .

I gathered main information about topic you mentioned briefly here it’s first of all definition of Puritans they were English Protestant Christian active in 16 and 17 th centuries , they use Geneva bible . Today they called Presbyterians and United church of Christ . Puritan poetry is literary movement by Puritans that reached it peak in 17 th century, its focused on guiding others to follow word of god and uphold bible . Even Shakespeare malvollo is even said to have been a life Puritan named William knolls, who was first earl of ban bury. King Henry v 111 who strarted Puritanism in 1530s . American Puritanism, which puritan’s believe if they honor god their colony would be blessed, if they failed to honor god , their colony would be punished. Puritan style plain poetry contains three elements short words , references to every day objects , direct / striaght forward statements. First Puritan figure in American literature is Ann Bradstreet by Edmund , h, garret .
