You were 100% right when you said they were "synched" - this performance is such a good demonstration of their talent. To be able to create this "groove" you need real trust, respect and understanding between the musicians. It just seems so natural that the music flows out of them effortlessly. So fucking good ! They might have done & probably would have done if not for Ren's health issues. I'd guess the same reason Ren couldn't commit to a record label as a solo artist, would be the same reason The Big Push couldn't. Likely got approached & had to decline.

@@AD270479 ...The reason they split in 2022, is because Ren obviously had his solo stuff and continued treatments in Canada to take care of, then Romain and Gorran both had, and I'm quoting Ren from their final show..."Had amazing opportunities individually offered to them, that would would spread the three out to 3 different corners of the planet". But he assured the crowd there was nothing but love between them and they looked forward to the day they were located closer together, and could start playing or making music again. Also The Big Push had a lot of buzz in the music biz, and all 8 of their singles they released, except for the first one, was done so with a label. Same with Ren's new album Sick Boi. People need to realize that there are all kinds of different labels, and unless you're singed with Sony, Warner or Universal (the big 3), you are NOT a "signed or industry" artist, you're still officially categorized as an independent or "indie" artist. I have to imagine how incredible it was to be around them during this time. Just some Great musicians, always pushing to become better and better. They all drove each other to improve. With the exception of the drummer (and I ONLY say this because I've never seen him play anything but drums), they ALL played all the instruments (rhythm, lead, bass, and even drums). One of Ren's greatest traits is to push those around him to the front. He WANTS you to see what he sees, how special his friends truly are. He doesn't feel the need to hog the spotlight....his personality shines through no matter what he's doing.

Regarding the drummer (Glenn Chambers): This video was released in April 2020 shortly after the UK lockdown began (not sure when it was filmed though) and I believe Glenn returned to Ireland during that time. Ren and Romaine were roommates and Gorran may have stayed with them for a while.

This is one of my favorite Big Push sessions, like you said about having desserts and some wine and grabbing guitars. It really feels that way. Such a beautiful jam session and I love their version of this. Romains rap gets me every time and I don't even speak French and have no clue if he actually insulted me personally in his lyrics, but it just sounds so so good. Just a vibe.

1. When us Americans see a ukulele we often think country folk, maybe a band camp kid at a renaissance fair, when we see a European person with one, we think, well they're too sophisticated for that to be a ukulele, surely it's something with a fancy 15th century European name ....nope, your gut instinct was correct, it was a ukulele indeed. 2. Full cover song - Manu Chao is a French-Spanish singer, he and his band were big in the 90's, they've released songs in French, Spanish, English, Italian, Arabic, Catalan, Galician, Portuguese and Greek and they are usually associated with Reggae, Calypso, Alternative-Island type Indie music. 3. Your perception again, very good, although I thought you might recognize the location. I'm not sure who's actually on the lease, but when the pandemic started, Ren, Romain and bassist Gorran, all moved into the apartment that accesses that roof, so they could work on music and not test constantly, not sure why the drummer, I think his name is Glenn, chose not to join them. Not sure if this was shot during the pandemic, but it is the same rooftop they used at the beginning of the "Murderer" video when Ren is hitting the heavy bag. 4. Great reaction as usual!!!! ✌️💚

Wade In the water/ Trouble So Hard is great! Sweet Little Lady! There's an acoustic version and a video version. Both are great! Watch Out is an original. Video is cute, but i prefer their busking version. You could do both versions, like a 2 for 1 video to contrast and compare!

Not sure if you'd to go down this separate rabbit hole, buuuut this is a cover of Manu Chao's song of the same. Legendary singer - sang in French, Spanish, English, Portuguese and i think some Catalan too? An incredible artist in his own right. Also sang and played for a band called Mano Negra (Black Hand), which was ITSELF a famous international band. Makes total sense that Ren covered him, Manu Chao is in some ways the proto-Ren. Songs you could check out if you felt like it (please excuse lack of proper accent notation): - Me llaman calle - Me Gustas Tu - Politik Kills - The Bleedin Clown - Clandestino Me Gustas Tu is probably the most radio friendly aside from Bongo Bong, to me :)
