It depends. Some of them genuinely try to understand what they're reacting to, and even visit South Africa to experience it firsthand. The Demouchets React and Mansa are two channels that seem like they genuinely have respect for what they're reacting to, and there are others as well that seem genuine. I think it definitely has become an easy way to get viewership, as us South Africans are so eager to share our culture, music, sense of humour and beautiful country with the rest of the world. But either way, it lets more people know how awesome South Africa is 🤷‍♀️

I think there are who American youtubers who genuinely love South African content like Mansa Mayne. I'm skeptical with the other KZbinrs. At least people's eyes are opened with these reactions

The Demouchets don't just react to SA content and they actually pay attention and give their honest opinions unlike some reactors pretend to enjoy it but on the other side us Africans we don't support our content creators

Does it Really matter as long as they show respect , its a WIN WIN , SA has gotten a lot of exposure so i don't really care whether or not they are motivated by self interest , I mean everyone in the world is motivated by self interest . South Africans like seeing their country on the world stage and American youtubers want clicks as i said WIN WIN

Your point of view is definitely not farfetched and makes allot of sense. Using a minority KZbin audience to kickstart one's channel, then disregarding said audience once you've tapped in or tap in to your core audience.
