Jeppe is pronounced Jep-pee. It’s the oldest school in the province of Gauteng. This is the high school I attended and the passion is amazing. Most of the high schools in South Africa have great spirit and passion.

But yes, they do take it very seriously.. and war cry practice is serious business Tomorrow is the pink derby at St. John’s college. It’s rugby between St. John’s and st Stithians 2 great schools in Johannesburg. Its become a tradition in support of breast cancer awareness 🌸 So must for one day the entire school goes pink.. my son attends SJC. They have painted the entrance wall pink, they have covered the trees in pink fabric. The lines on the rugby field are drawn in pink. The poles will be pink!!! There will be a mobile screening clinic on site. It’s epic!!! 😍 and then there’s schoolboy rugby!!!!

War cries/ Cheer leading represents a certain spirit of the entire college or High School. I remember practising every year for Swimming and athletic cheer leadings and shouting my lungs out and just enjoying the spirit!!😂🎉 Good days and I'm glad its still so amazing! Blazers, not suits. Are parts of our uniforms. Certain stripes and colours represents different achievements such as athletic or academic. Winter and Summer dress codes are different. Monday mornings the entire school gathers with all the teachers and principals in the school hall for meetings and worships of the great God himself.

All public and private schools wear uniforms in SA. You have the odd 1 or 2 small private schools that wear casuals. Look at some Afrikaans public school war cries too. This is HUGE for the rugby games. Rugby is very serious here! And let's not forget the parents, we have club house with a supporter uniform for our school rugby days
