I saw Randy live a while ago, and he was just as good :) In particular, he's really good at picking moments to break the fourth wall and speak to the audience as a performer and not through the puppet. Really clever work, and incredibly funny when executed by someone with real talent.

Someone in the comments of the the original video said that at 22:45 Randy suddenly snaps his head as if he spotted Morgan in the crowd and thus in a panicked reaction, he claimed that he just made it up. Believe that theory at your own risk, lol.

The only made up part of this story is that it was made up. Heath (Randys puppeteer) has admitted this literally happened to him but he was worried about the repercussions at the time should he not mention it was just a made up joke.

That's wild. It's a switcheroo. It was actually satisfying when he said it was made up, because I hadn't been picturing Heath, I'd been picturing Randy with blood streaming down his felty face. So I'm like "of *course* it's fictional. Randy can't drive.

This part of a longer piece called "Randy Writes A Novel" It's a journey down a meandering path of philosophical musings as Randy prepares to write his first book. I say "journey"; more of a crashing stumble really. 😁 If you can spare the time I suggest you have a look. It is just as hilarious as this bit. And isn't it incredible how you lose yourself in the story and how he moves, and begin to see him as a real person (I do anyway). ❤&✌from Australia my fellow human

100% agree with your assessment on all counts. Btw, this bit comes from a longer (about an hour or so) set in which he is supposed to be reading from a book but keeps getting sidetracked. A couple of things he says in this make more sense when you watch the whole thing. Glad you enjoyed 🤗

One day I was watching clips of Chappelle (the master) on KZbin while playing PlayStation. The Chapelle clips ended and some random Aussie voice was in my headphones telling jokes and had me absolutely rolling. It was about halfway through smug druggles that I actually looked up and saw who the comedian was. I was instantly hooked and spent the rest of the week deep diving into everything Randy has ever recorded. He's the only comedian I have traveled hours to see in person and I have tickets already to see him again in September. Chappelle might be the master, but Randy is MY GUY.

He's great, his puppetry is so natural (even doing the 'off-the-cuff' bits where he mis-speaks or ad-libs something), you obviously don't believe he's a real person but you still feel like he has a whole personality. He's not just a prop to tell jokes like a lot of other ventrioquists and puppets, he's a full character.

Happily surprised to see you cover this. Randy is an *excellent* story teller and this is from the full show 'Randy Writes a Novel' which he threatens to read from before he braves publishing, although he keeps going off on tangents and never quite gets around to it, this story is part of his procrastination, the dig at Hemmingway is reference to an earlier part (which was always an excuse to procrastinate). 'Smug Druggles' and 'Purple Privilege' are other full shows on his own KZbin channel which are also also hucking filarious... Although in true Aussie style he swears like a sailor, so be warned (although being an Aussie swearing it's more of a British way than just being crude). The earlier Sammy J and Randy stuff is also very good, but the more recent solo stuff is better if you ask me. I'm off to watch more Randy Feltface now, thanks! 👍🏻

I first encounter Randy when he did Forest of Dreams with Sammy J. And have seen all of his full shows since then. [The funniest one was when the set was actively collapsing around them due to an accident with a stage prop.] He recently tried his hand at running for the position of Mayor of Amsterdam on his tour through the country, since the water-board elections were on. He doesn't speak Dutch. If you ever get a chance to see him live, do so. It's well worth it. In about 5 seconds you will totally forget he is a puppet.

On a totally unrelated note, I know you like rock/metal music, so thought I would recommend a band to you, The Warning. A sister trio from Mexico (aged between 18 and 23). I have been into them for a while and they announced their first UK headline show today, so I have booked my first gig since Sept 2018. Between 1992 and 2018 I never went a year without a gig, and in later years was going upwards of 15 times a year, but last 4 years have been full of stuff stopping me going. You really should give them a go. Disciple is my fave song, but they have a lot of great tunes.

@gbulmer
@gbulmer Жыл бұрын
@@MandyCaneLane I'm only telling the truth, so "you're very welcome". You've taught me something new today! 😀👍 I didn't realise Argentina is humid. I've imagined it was fairly dry, but maybe dusty; like "Texas cattle country" in Hollywood "cowboy movies". I think the only things I've watched about Argentina are documentaries about cattle farming. 🤔 ----- prolix, but with a purpose ----- Do you know the UK TV show "Gogglebox"? Is there an Argentinian version? You'd be very good. Gogglebox began in 2013. It's based on the unlikely premise that TV viewers would watch other people watch TV!! It's a 'reality' show. I wasn't a fan. It seemed ridiculous. Yet it's popular! I eventually watched a few episodes during 'lockdown". I was surprised. There were often good moments in an episode. But, it was random. Each episode is reactions to one week of broadcast TV. The producers select (ahead of time) which programs their set of 'viewers' react to 'live' during each week. An episode is edited from one week's reactions. I like some 'viewers' more than others. I much prefer the YT reactors approach; I can choose what to watch with whomever I want. Gogglebox 'viewers' never "break the fourth wall" to talk to their audience,. So 'viewers' are always in groups of two or more, allowing them to share their thoughts yet still seem 'natural'. You're very good at "breaking the fourth wall" sharing thoughts, and chatting with your audience. I imagine you'd be superb at helping people think more deeply about great plays or works of literature by sharing your thoughts and asking them questions, or to share their thoughts. You have a valuable talent. 👏👍 So I hope part of your "day job" is doing something like that. Best Wishes. ☮ ----- PS: I didn't really "get it" when I was at school. However, I eventually realised reading a book or play in class with a skilful teacher enabled me to learn how to appreciate the literature more deeply, and in a way which I was incapable of when I read on my own. I'm actually in "technology". Yet, I feel learning to try to analyse literature at school helped me analyse problems throughout my career. People tell me I'm very good at understanding stuff. A sample of one isn't meaningful. 🤔 However, I feel sharing my thoughts with you might be helpful or encouraging. Sorry I took so many words. I haven't the talent or time to make it more succinct.
