You got goosebumps just hearing the pipes marching down the street, now you know why they were played to lead men into battle.

I always get goose bumps listening to the pipes and drums play our Scottish national anthem and I can see it has a similar effect on you too.♥️🏴

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo takes place every night for three or four weeks every August at Edinburgh Castle. Tickets are pricey but worth it and open to everyone of any nationality, it's very much for the tourists. This in the video is a free taster as crowds gather at the end of each night to watch the performers march out of the Castle back to barracks.

I’m glad you enjoy looking at Scottish celebrations and feel the music, this is a small part of it though and could be a rabbit hole into more… You should do a reaction to a Scottish Ceilidh to see the pipes and drums being used as part of the peoples culture away from the military. A Ceilidh is a traditional Scottish celebration/party, I won’t say any more because I wouldn’t want to spoil anything. Enjoy the rest of your journey of discovery

I love bagpipes, I wish I could play mine, but I sleep during the day, and I can't play it at night due to family members that actually sleep at regular times. Once again, great video. Love you guys.

This is the March Out where everyone in the Tattoo marches off the Esplanade at the end and down towards the buses waiting to take them to the barracks at the edge of the city. The performers are a mixture of military personnel and civilians, both from Scotland and outwith Scotland. The bands are the same. The saffron (yellow brown) kilts are worn by the pipers from an Irish regiment in the British Army. There was also a US military school pipe band and band there as well as a US military band. Pipe bands can be civilian, army, air force or police (the Royal Marines provide music for their parent service, the Royal Navy). All British Army and Royal Air Force band members are trained soldiers and airmen/women with other roles. Similarly, members of the Royal Marine Band Service are trained as infantry soldiers and act as medical support in areas of conflict; the other part of the RM is the Royal Marine Commandos. Next year the Tattoo is celebrating 75 years.

Great vlog. For your info Great Britian in Scotland, Wales and England. The UK is Scotland, Wales, England and northern Ireland. The different countries all have very different cultures despite being on the same island (Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland. This is the march out of the Castle after the show. The Tattoo happens once a year for the month of August. hope this helps.

Imagine your cut off surrounded by enemies out in the dark and through the darkness from over the hill you hear the black bear ( the tune that are playing ) that's what the pipes are for They are still listed in the uk as an instrument of war snd some stadiums won't allow them to be played

One of the things that makes me proud of my home is that anyone who chooses to live in Scotland is Scottish to us. Where else do you see banners saying, "We welcome refugees"? 🏴
@t.a.k.palfrey388215 сағат бұрын
The same inclusivity is true in Wales, Ireland, Canada, Australia and some other countries which have long histories of welcoming immigrant populations. I cannot think of a major country where everyone is defined by a hyphen, as in the US, with its African-American, Latino-American, Asian-American, etc.
@jamesrowe360614 сағат бұрын
@t.a.k.palfrey3882 It's ironic in a country that was founded by refugees. Incidentally, I only spoke about Scotland because that's where I was raised. I'm sure you're right about other countries being equally enlightened.
@jacquieclapperton975810 сағат бұрын
Yup. Q: how do you become Scottish? A: Come and live in Scotland! Civic nationalism. We don't care wherever you come from, what colour your skin is or what your religion is; if you're living here, you're Scots. We even have a group called English-Scots For Independence 😁. Amongst many others, we have a Singh tartan, a Muslim tartan and a Jewish tartan.

Must be you my friend because I understand all them equally . Love from England ..Love the Scots Pipers but also Love Irish pipe bands .We don't get to hear enough of those .And I think sadly Ireland is losing its identity by the gentrification of its country by the EU...It's not 'Irish Ireland' any more, just another outpost of the EU with its UNELECTED BUREAUCRATS making decisions on country's they know nothing about .Taking away borders is taking away a country..Borders have a reason .Even Our Fathers Heaven has walls and Gates ..And for good reason . The tiniest bit of sin is like a poison to a glass of Pure life giving water ... Once in the Water is no longer pure .and the wages of sin is death .This is why we exist in a dying world . HALLELUJAH EMMANUELLE. AMEN AMEN AND AMEN . Even so :- Come soon Lord Jesus for your church body and Bride .For the Glory of Our Father..thank you Lord for hearing Our prayer .AMEN . AMEN
