I love the sound of the bag pipes. I ALWAYS cry when i hear them. The drone goes straight to my heart and i feel soo proud to be Scottish. My late papa was nearly blind and profoundly deaf near the end of his life, because he worked in Fairfield Ship Yard ,Govan, man and boy. The tremendous noise made him deaf. But when he heard the sound if the pipes, I swear he puffed up with such pride. The pipes have held many good memories for me.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💟

Hi again. The 2022 Tattoo is my absolute favorite! I didn’t know what a Tattoo was but found it by research. The Swiss Top Secret, “Walking on the Waves,” the Grant Brothers from the 4th Battalion Highlanders and all the pipes and drums! Fantastic! I bought my 1st practice chanter then and have been taking piping lessons ever since! Thank you so much for posting this!

I am/was a bandsmen, for the preteen to late twenties I was in parades many many times. So I have a pride for the band,,, however pipes and drums will steal the show every time. If they don't raise the hair on your neck and arms, well, there is something wrong with you!

And those who end up actually seeing the Tattoo are left with nothing but a bitter disappointment at being subjected to a USA service personnel song and dance routine that goes on forever and then a Bollywood show. When the pipes and drums do finally appear you can feel the relief from the stadium at finally getting what we paid to see.
