Ofcourse the west has to show poverty, even while showing Indian opulence the accent has to be on poverty . As if there are no poor people in the west. BTW the gap between the rich and the poor in India isn't widening , infact the GINI coefficient shows that the gap is shrinking , but let's not let facts get in the way of our "narrative".

Its similar in India, average baaraat is also big and the venues are awesome. Yes there is poverty but thats everywhere in the world. We show ours they dont But normally because our cost of living is pretty low hence 33000 can bring u alot more in India than US.

These are all developing nations. India is far, far behind when it comes to people having wealth. A fake and misguided sense of pride doesn't help the nation. India is a poor and a corrupt country where roads flood during light monsoon even in areas that are supposed to be the most expensive. Roads, bridges, highways collapse. Manufacturing is lagging, and there is no tech and science innovation. All the truly talented people are leaving India. One family having money doesn't mean India is a rich country. There's a rich person in even the poorest countries on the planet. Anyone who disagrees is a burden on this once great nation.
