You need to experience it the enrgy gets you so hyped that you feel full of energy and if the game is important only time we sit is during half time and even then alot of them sing and cheer ... also its so weird that you guys sing your national anthem before regular games ... we do this in europe only when national teams play

One major difference is in Europe, the fans do most of the singing and chanting on their own. If you didn't play a single song all night on the PA system, the fans would be just as loud and intimidating throughout the entire game. In USA, most of the singing and other activities are initiated by the arena staff. When they're singing and dancing along like in the Maryland clip, it's done with the PA system blaring loud music to get people going.

I have heard from americans that back in the 90s (and the decade’s bevor) that they usually only have played the US national anthem at some finals or because of some special occasions during the match But allegedly over the last 20 years this custom have increased with the Years too literally this point nowadays where EVERY larger game or match held on US ground playing the US national anthem, no matter how insignificant and unimportant the outcome will be …. At least this is what people have explained to me

for you in the us... the nr.2 clip from EU with all the confetti... this is done by the home team's fans and is done so thay can sing and suport the team, and to show the away team that thay (the fan's) controle this game, and now the away team have to stand there and do nothing with the home teams fans beating them down by song's

In europe clubs born owned by all the fans, that pay anual cotes to support the existence of the club. Football club are not private propriety for show business. The club represent the people of the land. Its not a show. Its war of you land against the rest of the world. Its tribalism. The fans are passionate about the club, because everyone are the owner of the club, and the president of the club are elected by the fans that pay the cotes. Its a socialized sport. Not a private owned sport for show and profit goals. We dont want shows. We want victory. We want pride in our own blood.

The first two clips were of the ARIS (Greek basketball team). Get somebody to translate the chant for you- something about your dad having questionable sexual preferences and the league being connected to the worlds oldest profession... but a lot (lot) more vulgar. The first video is Aris Greek team and the last is Panathinaikos again from Greece. Probably the most phanatic sports clubs in Greece. I wish I could translate what their saying but Im gonna get banned because of the very very bad language they use :P :) The second video is Turkish team FS spinsel I think playing against Greek team Olympiacos in Turkey, absolutelly war :P :)

Good reaction, but if you would like a suggestion that NOONE has ever done before and separate yourself from the pack, you can try a basketball video called "european basketball coaches are crazy" by a channel called MegaTobins696 ... it is going to be *GRAND FUN* From the same channel there is a video where american players talk about the Euroleague and playing in Europe about the flares and all that madness. Europe has a history of tribal warfare. This continues in football supporters. The high energy chants are meant to scare the opposing side /tribe to death. The USA does not have the flair for it. One day the US fans will be as good as South America fans and European fans, once they get a chant they can sing. Clubs in the US want European type of fans for they bring energy to the team. The US police won't drag out 23,000 fans for chanting was too loud or rude, they'll be stopped by 23,000 fans. So come on US fans get it together and get a war face on and chant.

Well, Americans tend to overdo everything... the shows are great the sourroundings and everything. Many sports here in Germany, especially smaller sports than football (soccer), have adopted some showy elements over the last 25 years or so. But every time I watch US Sports, there is something lacking. An that is the enthusiam of the fans expressed towards the world. Yes, the single American fan may be the most enthusiastic fan in the world... but the audiance as a whole does not convey their passion at all. At least compared to what european and south american fans do - like for example the infamous "Gelbe Wand" (yellow wall) of Borussia Dortmund with 20.000 fans on the south stand proudly doing whole choreographies (Signal Iduna Park is the second largest stadium in Europe, providing between space for 66000-81000 fans, depending on weather they are only allowed to provide steating or they can turn some stands into standing rooms)

friend, there is no usa vs europe. europe is a continent. the difference of south european countries to north european countries is bigger than north european countries to usa. The videos you show are greek and serbian not european.
