10:45 This is the AquaDom Hotel in Berlin. What you see here, is the former aquarium in the lobby of the hotel. One night in December 2022 the glass of the aquarium burst and 1 million liters ( 264172.052 gallons for you) of water together with about 1500 fish poured into the lobby, elevators and the surrounding street. Only about 630 fish could be saved. Whether it was a design flaw or material failure is impossible to say. In May 2023, it was announced that the aquarium would not be rebuilt.

Still think Time Travlers make the aquarium burst on purpose to prevent an accident on opening times. That there was no human life lost in this, doesnt make sense to me otherwise. So yeah Time Travlers are upon us! :D

@@ArthurRuno Given that moving backwards or forwards in time would be a bit complicated as Earth doesn't stay in one play AND the universe is expanding any time traveler would need not only a device to move through time but also space as well, making it indeed a tad bit complicated.

Fun fact: in the DDR-museum there is a car typical of those days: the Trabant. People used to say this car was made out of ... wait for it ... cardboard. However, that is not true. The chassis was steel and the bodywork was Duroplast (highly pressed cotton and resin, reinforced with fiberglass).

No it isnt ... because lots of things get torn down and lots of money was wasted on a silly airport, just because the "party mayor" and his bureaucrats couldnt do proper bookkeeping. There are also far too many non-Berliners in the city ... since 1990 ... starting with the awful bureaucrats from Bonn and the "party people". We also have far too many communists still in the city ... AntiFa was created and tested here with the help of the STASI and the ideologues in education AND SUB-CULTURE that supported this evil group are still there.

On your question at the end. It can be that nice. But that depends on which part you visit at which time. The parks, lakes and woods f.e. arent as vibrant in winter or late fall, while the places look best during specific festivals, like the Festival of Light or Christmas Markets and the riversites are best during summer. So I wouldnt say they dont look as good, but depending on what kind of experience you are searching for you have to chose the time and the spot for an optimal experience.

Berlin has an area of almost 900 square kilometers (345 square miles). 6.7% of it is water area and 18.4% are forest. and then there are many parks, and even fields inside city limits. before 1990, the old west had around 2.2 million people and the east 1.1 million, causing the current relatively low population density of only 4100 per square km (10700 per sq mi; new york 3 times more: 29k/sqmi, 11k/sqkm) nowadays. without these high percentages of nature west berlin might not have survived being an isolated island for almost three decades. the entire city has almost the same city limits as it got in 1920 when the original city and many surrounding cities and villages (including all those forests, lakes and rivers) were joined to create "great-berlin". most of these old village centers (almost one hundred!) still exist today and it would take quite some time to visit all of those distinct old villages while staying inside one single city.

Live in Berlin since my birth, it is a really nice ciry, which has so many things from so so many different cultures to offer. no matter, what you are looking for, in berlin you will most likely have a shop or a restaurant for it. Also you have a ton of museums, parks and architecture through the whole city and as long as it works, the puplic transport is one of the best imo. One of the interesting parts is the citys diversity, depending on where you are you get a whole different feeling, you have these super modern places like Potsdamer Platz but also you have these old looking places like the Hackischen Höfe. Also like shown in the video you have super much nature. On of my biggest suggestions is the teufelsberg at the west of the city, the mountain isn't especially high, but it is just high enough, that you get a super nice view onto the whole city. And if you are in Berlin you have to try a Döner Kebap and a Curry Wurst.
@Muck006
@Muck006 4 ай бұрын
The "diversity" is also part of the problem ... and by that I mean the "diversity advocates", i.e. AntiFa, who are actually communists and thus evil. Certain other parts of the "diversity" also has them going to the "Gutshof Britz" and stab the animals there "just for tun" ... because that's what they do in their own country. This is a problem, because they are kinda rare races and not easily replaced.

There's also an old GDR prison (Berlin Hohenschönhausen) turned into a museum of how political prisoners were treated. It's very informative, not fun, and not very popular for reminding people of what the GDR did.

I think it was already an improvement if at least Germans knew that the far more interesting aspect about the Brandenburg Gate is that you are basically standing in front of the 2500 years old main gate to the Acropolis (= High city)/Parthenon Temple in Athens - at the time of Pericles. Thats why it has exactly the size it has. The Brandenburg Gate also represents the Propylaia (first court entrance). Worldwide are only two other examples in Greece (one is the known one in Athens) but they are in a worse shape than this replica. The Brandenburg Gate also served like the role model as real main gate to the city (from once 18 city gates). If one knows that then one can look at it with different eyes and imaginations!

And the Museum Island is under cobstruction most of the time. But in general: yes, Berlin has a lot of green areas. There are living quartiers in a huge diversity, the ugly ones, too. Just come over and have a look by yourself. If you imagine a smaller and cosier version of NYC, you may be prepared better than with this video.

From big ones to very tiny ones, we've got them all. And at least Berlin has two of them, because of the seperation. So don't just go to the Zoologische Garten, please also visit the Tierpark in the east of Berlin. Both worth it❣️
