Raven is the best kids' gameshow ever put to TV and that clip did it really dirty. Raven had this whole story about how the dude Raven was training up these kids to fight against the evil wizard Nevar (yes, that is Raven spelled backwards) and there were these supremely creepy hooded figures called demons that were meant to pursue the kids. There were mazes and assault courses, wrestling, rowing. It was the shit. He should have shown you one of the final challenges. Or the one where a kid gets blindfolded and has to be guided through a maze. Or the one where if they ring the bells on the strings, the demons are allowed to move. And there were sometimes what were essentially cutscenes which expanded on the story where Raven would get into wizard battles or see through the eye of a raven. God it was good.

Dick and Dom was absolutely cutting edge kids tv. So much so it was actually raised in parliament and subsequently banned. If you get a chance look up the Geordie inspector and the game "Bogies" (which people here still play). I also remember another game where they would try and stick stickers of Dick or Dom's faces on strangers in public without them noticing, until in the end people are walking around oblivious to the fact they have a massive sticker of Dick or Dom's face stuck to them haha

The show wasn't banned, I think Dick and Dom just felt the show had run it's course. You're right about the Parliament thing though. MP Peter Luff complained that taxpayer money was paying for this show. He was made fun of in a later episode of the show where he was referred to as Piece of fluff'

Yeah, Dick & Dom was a game show but they had a few sketches. It usually lasted for 2 hours and was live. To set up the next game they would play a cartoon which is why Fairly Odd Parents was there - Unless you paid for Nickelodeon it was the only way to way to watch it (Dick & Dom was on BBC). Sometimes I wonder what Butch Hartman would think about his show being used on D&D and if he even knew. Interestingly ITV (The main rival channel) had their own similar show on at the same time and they aired Spongebob so you had this sort of Nick rivalry going on between the over-the-air channels. Watching this back I probably could have included more of Bamzooki and Raven but at the time I thought the video would be too long. Let me know if you want another one of these and if you want I'll include some longer clips of those two shows.

You should really watch Dick and Dom's final sketch ever for their show, they did a musical number summing up the show followed by a whole lot of craziness etc. Basically the very end is them throwing their toys out of the pram because the British government (and a significant number of humourless adults) complained about the BAFTA winning show being inappropriate for kids. Epic.

Dick and Dom was essentially on all morning on a Saturday and Sunday, and featured skits and competitions, with cartoons and other kids shows sandwiched in. It was probably the best thing on during my childhood. I think it was basically every kids dream to get to go on.

To add confusion. There is an USA Dennis the Menace, a little blonde kid. And the UK one is ALSO called Dennis the Menace and he is just one of many characters in the popular UK comic book called the Beano. It's a weekly magazine that I think has been running since the 1930's or something. The cartoon version of that comic character for some reason is just called Dennis & Gnasher - probably to avoid copyright with the US movie/TV series of the same name.

Yup Dennis & Gnasher is the British Dennis the Menace, he originated in the long running comic The Beano way back in 1951, his dog Gnasher made his 1st appearance in 1968

The word 'Beta', It is pronounced beeta not bayta in the Uk. Its an old greek word and thats how my Greek Grandparents taught me my 'Abc's. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, delta, epsilon etc etc like i say, they were Greek, thats how they said it. The only times ive ever heard it pronounced 'beyta' is by Americans and Germans.

Try watching a kid's show called 'Knightmare'. It was an early to mid 90's ITV show in the UK, and based on a medieval Dungeons n Dragons/virtual reality kind of idea. It's truly unique and really immersive to watch. Was my fave show as a kid :D Other good ones are Maid Marian and her Merry Men (comedy) - look up the 'pancake day' episode, and 'The Crystal Maze' which was more of an adults show but kids loved it too.

Betamax is pronounced Beatamax in the UK, as opposed to Baytamax in the US. So he was right! When we say Beta as in Alpha, Beta etc that's how we pronounce it. It's an ancient Greek word and that's how they pronounce it.

I. Love. My Parents are Aliens. I still love it. 90s Dennis and Gnasher, one of my favourite cartoons! Blue Peter is the longest running TV show I think. Certainly the longest running kids' show. It's still going as well. It's a show about literally everything lol. I was never really bothered though. I used to watch it when I went to my nan and grampa's house after school because their video player was a bit temperamental and they didn't get a DVD player for ages. They had a different digibox to ours though, so we could watch CITV and I used to enjoy watching Horrid Henry, My Parents are Aliens and stuff. BAMZOOKI YES MY DUDE! I had the software on my old computer where you could make your own Bamzooki. I don't really remember Raven. I wasn't allowed to watch Dick'n'Dom in Da Bungalow because my parents thought it was too weird and annoying XD. Dick and Dom are still on TV. They have a new show called Diddy TV. Series 1 was funny. The new one isn't great.

I was already a bit too old by the time Dick and Dom aired...so I was sleeping in on a Saturday morning and missing it. Always knew it was a bit weird...never knew it was totally fucked up. No idea how they got away with it. And..I saw an interview with them the other day. They are back with a live show at the Edinburgh Fringe which is a massive performance arts festival in Edinburgh (in Scotland) which is mostly known for stand up comedy and comedic theatre. God knows how that's going to go down!
