Before Art Attack, Neil was in a band called Marseille. He then went on to do Art Attack for 17 years and all of the music you here in the show, including the guitar that you liked, is composed by him. After Art Attack finished, he reformed Marseille and went on tour with a new album. He came to my home town and everyone was wearing red Art Attack jumpers, but instead of saying Art Attack, they said Marseille.
@dlk1dlk13 жыл бұрын
What qualifications did Neil have in art and music?
@SuperGhostsRus3 жыл бұрын
@@dlk1dlk1 No idea. I know he has his own recording studio at his house, so he possibly has some sort of music qualification if he can play instruments as well as produce, but then he could also be self taught in all of those things. He got into tv presenting by introducing himself to producers of a show his band was appearing on. He presented several tv shows in the 80s and then once he gained prominence he came up with and pitched Art Attack to ITV who greenlit the show. I think he has a passion for the arts rather than qualifications. Art Attack was solely his and when he sold it, he got the full 14 million it was bought for.

Neil also presented a kids show called, Finders Keepers. Once in the audience, I was selected to give a demo of how the contestants would arrive on set and the game,es would start. I had to run down the spiral stairs at the side of the 'house' the show was set in and after that I got a pen with the show name on it lol. Another time was the end of a series and a couple of us ran up to the set and nicked a few balls from the ball pit.

Neil Buchanan. Absolute legend. Multiple kid's TV hits from the 80s to the 00s, as a presenter and producer. Still making art and long time musician, though he seems to have given that up, now. Art Attack is his most famous show, aired all over the world. The brand is now owned by Disney, after they bought HIT Entertainment years ago. This made me better at art, I was really bad at it in school with my crap coordination, but Art Attack made it simple and accessible. As a companion, you could try BBC's rival show SMart, which I think has been requested. People may mention a presenter called Tony Hart, but I don't count his shows as a rival to Art Attack because he was really a generation before. He was the first to really start the 'kids art' genre in the UK in the 70s, but it really took off when Neil showed up with Art Attack in the 90s after Hart retired.

Literally, generations of new era children. It really is a great show and even as a 29 year old reminiscing I learn something new watching this show made for Under 5s. Choose the episode wisely. Sitting watching art attack as a kid was always disappointing as you never had all the correct supplies to hand, and being the 90’s there was no pause button to go grab the stuff. If you were lucky your parents would let you use the vcr to record it and watch back but I was never allowed to waste the precious vhs tape space (even using long play!). I would do my best to get all my art supplies ready beforehand but as shown in the episode I wouldn’t have had a pack of sponges or split pins just ready to go. I would convince myself I would remember how to make the stuff later but I never did. I always loved this and the art part of Blue Peter but they were always worse - you needed a years supply of cereal boxes, double sided sticky tape, half a roll of tinfoil and 100 toilet roll tubes to make their projects.
