Famously they have had solo performance tours, like comedians do, with the names "The Greedy Bastard Tour" - for Idle, and "The Alimony Tour" for Cleese.

The best part about Little Britain is the narration by Tom Baker, yes Doctor Who for people of a certain age, he gave such gravitas to so many darkly funny lines..... Britain, Britain, Britain. We've had running water for over ten years, we have a tunnel connecting us to Peru, and we invented the cat.

@@nicolad8822 Looking at the Little Britain "fatties" sketch I'd say it was still 100% up to date, even more so than when it was released. And still funny. It's the sense of humour of younger people that's not aged well. They get offended at absolutely everything instead of just lightening up and laughing about life. 😀

Happy Christmas Joel. The Fat Fighters section was from Little Britain, the brilliant commentary for that delivered by former Dr Who, Tom Baker. It was John Cleese and it was Eric Idle, also from Monty Python, the man in the urn was Graham Chapman, star Life of Brian and Holy Grail. The film clip at the end was from a Carry On film, it was Charlie Hawtey who you saw as the psychiatrist in Carry On Matron.

My all-time favourite British comedy series are: Alô, Alô, Blackadder, Keeping Up Appearances, Mr Bean, Monty Python, Absolutely Fabulous. The British are excellent at using dark humour. I love the way they use a unique blend of irony, satire and euphemism. Another defining characteristic is the play on words, with puns and double meanings. Getting involved in this subtlety and nuance of British humour is indeed an exciting linguistic and cultural journey. Being Portuguese, I am an unconditional fan of British culture! Keep up the great Work 😉🙏

And I'd like to return the compliment; reading your comment I would never have guessed you were from a non English speaking country. The wording is excellent (not that I'm any expert on the subject) and you clearly understand our language and ways very well. You have my total admiration for that. That's something we English/British aren't particularly good at, learning or wanting to learn other languages. Far too lazy in that respect.

That wasn't Fawlty Towers, it was Monty Python - the comedy series that defined British comedy in the 1970's and consisted of John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam. The last sketch you saw at the guillotine was a scene from the film "Carry On Don't Lose Your Head". If you want to see awesome British comedy from the 1960's, watch the Carry On... film series - there are 30 of them, made between 1958 and 1978, then an extra one made in 1992 but the best ones were during the 1960's.

Joel, your comments just reminded me of what the poet Mina Loy said about parents - it may not have originated from her, nevertheless, she said. "The author of my being is the author of my anxiety." The very last clip was from a Carry On film. (probably . . . Don't Lose your Head or something like that) The aristocrat was played by Charles Hawtrey and the French citizen ushering him on to the guillotine was played by Peter Butterworth. Both were regulars of the long-running series of Carry On films.

The voice-overs are from Little Britain, a slightly surreal comedy sketch show. The voice overs are purposefully ridiculous & voiced by Brit TV legend Tom Baker, who played the 4th Doctor in Doctor Who in the 70's. :) - The bit that starts with Graham Chapman is dead, they're the rest of the then still alive members of Monty Python, they're referencing the Dead Parrot sketch.
