Greetz from Frankfurt, Germany. I'm still alive :) The city has its bad reputation and the highest criminal statistics just because of the city core and its main station district. And for years, the city gouvernment missed to do something against raising drug delicts, robbery etc. NOW, they installed cameras around the main station to solve such delicts. Me, I'm living in an outer district of Frankfurt. It has more suburban to countryside vibes. Frankfurt is a very green city with a more than 60 km long loop track for biking and walking, called Gruenguertel (green belt). It partly goes through forest and along to rivers (Main and Nidda). You'll really get a different view of Frankfurt.

I don't like cities and and prefer small towns and nature, but I live very close to Frankfurt and my mom's family always lived, and still lives in Frankfurt. There are a lot of historical places, museums, nice pubs, etc. Yes, there are not so nice areas and there are homeless people. But it's really harmless compared to most big American cities.

It's also something akin a transitional gateway into the former DDR.

yeah as someone who was born in Frankfurt i can confirm the claims of this video i even think he downplayed it alot every trainstation smells like piss and weed then theres the local river Main dark green murky water that smell like dead fish and would give magnet fishers a field day there are more sunken shopping carts bicycles in the main then there are on the parkinglots of discounters and so many unexploded WW2 bombs as recently as one or two weaks ago they had to close down the entire A5 highway around frankfurt airport because they dug up another bomb they had to detonate i am more then happy to have moved away from frankfurt its may not be the capital of germany but its the capital in crime homeless poeple and drug adics

Both Frankfurt Main and Berlin are crazy in their own right. Berlin is a romanticized shit hole at its best while Frankfurt is plain miserable at its worst (by German standards at least). As an occasional visitor, I actually quite like both cities but some parts are sketchy and best avoided. Preferably left of alone for cameras to capture, adding to the ever growing meme compilation that accredit them the bad rep those cities usually get.
