@@Shadow_Played Everybody knew Russia would likely invade Ukraine! They annexed Crimea in 2014 and there wasn't a peep made about it. In late 2020 all signs were pointing to a Russian invasion, and lo and behold it happened. If you think the US is anything like Russia, then you are very ignorant. Greenland won't need to be invaded, but I do not doubt that the US is extremely interested in maintaining its security, that's only smart. We already protect Greenland and have a military base there. Denmark is not strong enough to protect it alone. Don't you think Russia may have its eyes on Greenland? I would be surprised if they didn't. If Greenland becomes independent it will certainly not be able to ensure its own security. It needs to be and will be protected by the US. Very simple.

If you missed this … Asked on Quora: *"Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?"* An articulate and witty writer from England, *Nate White,* wrote the following faultless response, *sentiments shared by people around the world in general* … “A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace; all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief. Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing. Not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility. For us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is. His idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty. Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults, he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness. There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege. And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff, the Queensberry rules of basic decency, and he breaks them all. He punches downwards, which a gentleman should, would, could never do, and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless, and he kicks them when they are down. So the fact that a significant minority, perhaps a third, of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that: - Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are. - You don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man. This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss. After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws, he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumps of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God, what have I created?’ If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.”

With Donald Trump, America chooses the authoritarian anti-democrat. Let that be a warning. How could the American citizen let that happen? It is a misunderstanding to think that American democracy only began to crumble with the rise of Donald Trump. Now the question is: can America withstand yet another attack on its foundations? The problem with the fall of a democracy is that it does not happen, like a downpour or storm, but unfolds, like climate change. Freedoms are not removed, they are restricted and eroded - until they erode. Fundamental rights are not abolished, they are undermined and trampled upon - until they become privileges. Truths are not banned, they are reviled and disputed - until everyone has their own truth. A democracy does not stumble, it slides. That's just what's happening in America.

Its very clear that US-politics has degraded to the point where US-citizens have less respect for the highest office in their country than we, as foreigners, do. We look at their president, and we treat him like a serious person and as such we take his words seriously, which causes us to be outraged at some of it. They look at their president, and he's a source of amusement first, and a serious person only second. So they just sit and laugh when he opens his mouth. All of it is one big "meme". This can only occur when the people have no respect at all for the institutions and become careless and indifferent. Which allows for opportunists to take control. @blechtic I don't think that's quite accurate. He was inaugurated less than eight months prior to 9/11, presumably "the thing" to which you refer. All new presidents traditionally enjoy a honeymoon phase during the first months of their administration. Indeed, the approval rating for Bush the Younger was net-positive at every moment prior to the terror attacks. The first time his approval fell below 50% was AFTER the invasion of Iraq.

Honestly, the 'I don't want to be political' stance is incredibly frustrating. Trump has demonstrated fascist, racist, homophobic, and transphobic behavior, and basically suggested using military force to seize Greenland. How is taking a stand against such actions about politics... it's about basic human decency.

Here is the thing though. There is an excellent Polish channel who have recently begun including stories on Donald Trump - very recently, they usually cover European news - and they basically class him alongside Putin only not as funny. They are also hilariously sarcastic and Trump/US don't come out well. One channel ran a sort of unofficial poll and Trump tied with Putin as the most HATED man on the planet and it wasn't only Europeans answering either, there was a fair amount of people from the Americas and Australasia as well on there. Big difference is Putin IS intelligent, he IS well able to string more than a couple of words together - accepting the fact he lives in a fantasy world his speeches do actually make sense and he and and does speak fluently and his voice is more pleasant to listen to {I'd rather listen to Putin than Trump if it has to be of them], his English is better than Trumps as well and it isn't even his first language. For many to now be comparing the US to Ruzzia [thanks to threats of invasion to Mexico, Canada, Panama, Greenland/Denmark] is one heck of a fall in grace. Not sure you will ever recover on the international scene, electing him once was sort of forgivable and countries did forgive after some seriously hard work by President Biden, electing him again is something else again. Especially when you add in his comments, lies and deliberate misinformation regarding California and their current issues.

It shows that people are very gullible. Trump just arranged the ceasefire in Gaza. No other world leader was able to do that. He will also end the war in the Ukraine. Trump actually support completely free speech he has never imprison journalists like they do in Britain, Russia and really most European countries. He is planning on making the government smaller, that means more freedom. Poland is still okay, but most countries in Europe have been turned into authoritarian block of countries. It sounds like you are really interested in politics. Watch Jimmy Dore to expand your knowledge, he is a real progressive leftwing American commentator, he really knows what is going on and he speaks the truth, which is rare these days. Though that compilation is funny, it also and mostly is frightening! Not only because that "Leader of the Free World" is totally bonkers, but because of the millions of people who voted for him! WHAT has our civilization come to???

I watch the Meidas Touch channel, so I am over-Trumped already, but you can't avoid politics. By pointing out a lot of painful US situations you imply a lot of political mistakes. Sadly both parties are sold out to big money and there is no hope at all for people outside of that millionaire bubble. The only thing that could help is a real socialist party, alas the word "social" is the only thing that all Amercians are vaccinated against since birth. With Trump "at the helm" I can only say "thoughts and prayers".

Unfortunately I think that lobbyists have got hold of all sides. In my opinion similar in UK although it's rarely seen or talked about. To have more controls requires cross party agreements so ...I've been watching that channel too and democracy watch Bryan Tyler Cohen- just to get more of a look into the legal side of things too.. anyway.. in a few days I will brace myself for what's coming and I don't live in US...

@@infin8ee I do not know. I personally have no problem calling him by its name normally. At most i would avoid mentioning him too much so as not to "immortalise him". I am sure that he would be happy for that. Look at what happens with all the serial copy cats. But i also know that history must Not be forgotten. In this case, it is just that i am just aware that this is youtube and it seem that anything can be a reason to delete the comment here. Even when we are careful to avoid the "bot" censure. Not the first time that this has happened to me.

I applaud you for jumping into this cesspit head first and am sure you will get a lot of flak for it but in the end, it is he who said those things and you just point them out via this video. I also do not understand people still follow him like cultists either out of desperation and or pure fanatism and belief in some of the words that he spew out. Never put your politicians (and celebrities for that matter) on a pedestal and glorify them as if they are the new coming of christ. They are just people like you and me and some of them are even more stupid but somehow get a lot more power than they should wield.
