This season was his first season in the premier league and he instantly broke the all-time record for most goals in 1 premier league season with 36 goals in 35 games, he's only 22/23. He was ballin before the premier league though, he scored over 80 goals in just 2 seasons in germany and he broke all kinds of records in the champions league already, 35 goals in 30 games in the champions league which is the toughest competition in the world. He won the treble with City this season, meaning they won the premier league, the cup and the champions league in other words he already won everything a player can win with a club

It is true that Messi and Ronaldo are already old, and they are not even 25% of what they were in their prime, but I think we will never see something like that again. Haaland and Mbappé are now the best in the world, but it is unlikely that they will reach the level of Messi and Ronaldo.

@@nemothezeus6587 If he manages to avoid bad injuries he could very well end up beating all sorts of goal-scoring records, but he won't eclipse Messi as an allround player. Mbappé could, if he improved his decision-making quite a bit, but I don't think that'll happen.

I’m Norwegian and we’re a smal country so we don’t have that many athletes to be proud of. But Haaland and Odegaard are insanely good footballers, and all Norwegians are cheering for them. When I was a kid Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the big star, he played for Manchester United and won the treble with them as well, scoring the winning goal against Bayern Munich in 1999. You should check him and Odegaard out as well! Anyways, your reaction was great so I subbed instantly 😁👍🏼

This kid is 22 years of age, he is really quick , he has been timed at about 6 seconds on a 60 meter strech. He is 6"4 and about 200 lbs. He works really hard at his craft and he is both a natural talent and really good at what he does.

Basic rule of thumb is that you can use as much force as you're capable of as long as you're actually using your shoulder rather than your arm, although as we saw in this video there's a bit of leeway for using your arm.

Football is a contact sport. Tackles are legal as long as you use your shoulders/torso (and not hips, ass, or arms). Sliding tackles are legal as long as you go for the ball before the body (and don't slide cleaves first).

Haaland's quite unique. He's very tall (for a footballer), very aggressive and has incredible athleticism. I think at his last club he almost reached the 60m world record speed on a football pitch. Pair the above with excellent finishing and you have a fantastic goalscorer. Kevin De Bruyne is considered to be even better than Haaland but his stats will always draw you in. Statistics only tell a portion of the story in football. Your eyes will fill in the rest as you watch more. Enjoy the journey!

the thing is that you can use your arms to touch the opponent, to keep a little distance bewteen him and the ball for example, but you can't push someone, 1:33 what happened i think is that he did the first thing but the defender wasn't "strong" enough and got "pushed", the difference is that it if it's done "legally" and it's because of someone's strenght, then it's ok (also yeah in almost every situations, shoulder against shoulder is ok, unless you come full speed and put all your body weight in it then you're most likely just trying to trip the opponent) 6:40 there's nothing against that, but if it's on purpose/to "flex" it generally will get the other team angry so not recommanded, but sometimes players go get the ball from the net if they're losing i think all those clips of him dribbling is the only one existing (from this year at least) x) he generally get packed by any top defender, also the 1:46 is definitely not because of Haaland, the pitch was just abnormally wet, every defender kept slipping for no reason during all the game ; but he definitely is one of the most athletic player right now, and i mean over all, not just jumps or speed, he's super strong and agile at the same time, his shot power is top level, ... in his former club he really was going back to the midfield to help construct a play, while now at City he really is a "poacher" kind of striker, (in french we call it "fox of the surface", basically meaning being opportunist, always keeping an eye for whatever can happen and be ready to "pounce" ) and it shows one of his best qualities is how he can position himself to "never" be offside (also for his debut he didn't scored but he got an assist, for someone considered top 3 striker atm it made a lot of people perplex but the results and the numbers are here now)

The only push in football that is legal is what you call a shoulder-to-shoulder challenge. For this to be legal, both players have to be in front of the ball, fighting for the space in front of the ball. If there is no ball there, it's a foul. If the contact is not shoulder on shoulder, it's a foul. On many occasions you will see refs let go of illegal challenges, that doesn't mean it's legal, just means the ref missed it by mistake or maybe on purpose.

@@CoreyMcKinneyFC He's still a hugely impressive player. Playing for City makes him look like a tap-in merchant because they're so good at creating those kind of chances. The lad is a physical monster, so damn tall and strong, while fast as hell. Adding to that he's got a rocket of a shot, great movement and awareness(the kind strikers don't usually develop until years later), and somehow always seems to manage to hit the target no matter how much pressure he's under, how bad the angle is or how weirdly he has to bend his body to hit the ball. I'm saying this as both a Swede and a Manchester United fan, so you know I have zero reason to overrate him, quite the opposite! 😄 What I will agree with is that goals are hugely overrated in soccer, which is why there's been a media-led "GOAT debate" for the past decade and a half, simply because Messi and Ronaldo both scored about the same amount of goals this whole time, when in actual fact it's clear to anyone who really knows soccer that Messi outclassed Ronaldo in just about every other aspect, to the point where even if you took away all his goals I'd still rate him higher than Ronaldo. I know anecdotal evidence isn't the most reliable, but I can tell you that I've gotten way more assists by passing bad players in good positions than I've scored goals by being in good positions when bad players have the ball... Breaking the midfield stalemate in order to create goalscoring opportunities is way harder than actually putting the ball in the net once you have it close to the goal.

@@CoreyMcKinneyFC It's a real grey area, and the biggest problem with soccer is how disproportionate the punishments for fouls are: a simple foul in a harmless area of the field only gives a free kick, which is basically worthless, while the same foul one inch into the penalty area gives a penalty kick, which is basically a 75% chance at a free goal. Stopping a dangerous attack gets you a yellow card, which has no effect whatsoever on the game as long as you stay out of trouble for the rest of it, and with 10 outfield players that's a potential 10 goal-scoring opportunities denied without any actual punishment, not to mention how much entertainment the fans miss out on. Compare that to a sport like hockey, where whenever a player is forced to foul his opponent, he's off the ice for 2 minutes, which gives the other team a 20-something percent chance to score, not to mention how exciting it is for the fans watching. A few decades ago defenders were allowed to fly into tackles, and while that was dangerous injury-wise, it did mean that when they missed they were on the ground and the attacker was charging off toward their goal, leading to exciting things. Defenders nowadays are much more passive, leading to less excitement, which means a less entertaining spectacle.

You mentioned super teams in NBA playing without chemistry, and mediocre teams on paper but playing brilliantly--well, this Manchester City team is on both the positive sides of those statements. They are all world class players, playing as one, and playing to the strengths of Erling Haaland. This is not to say that Erling can't perform half as well as he did without the team, and this is also not to say that the team needs Erling to do well. Both Erling and this Manchester City squad don't really need each other, imo, but they are a cheat code when they combine.
