That's in a calendar year. We don't do calendar years in football. In the 11/12 season he had 73 goals in all competitions - which is incredibly impressive. He did however play more games than most have a chance to play that year with La liga, champions league, Copa del rey, club world cup, supercopa and eufa supercup. It's still 73 goals in only 60 games which might be a record for a long time. If anyone will have a chance to better that I might be Haaland if his national team can qualify for a major tournament. Messi was also 25 at the time. Haaland is only 22 and will probably still improve some.

My guess is that if you're outside of the United States, there's a very good chance you'll be able to watch the game. You'll probably not be suprised to see that football is on a lot in most of the world, particularly the Premier League, and particularly big games like the Manchester derby. I've never been abroad and not been able to watch a big City game. I'm sure a cruise ship would have football on in one of their many bars and if you're in Mexico they'll definitely be a bar somewhere with it on. 👍

You need to check out when Man City won the league in the last minutes of the season. They needed 2 goals with 3 mins of the last game to go. It was their first league title in over 40 years and beat out Utd their City rivals. Craziest end to any season ever. Agueroooooooooooo! Lol

The way to do the football trick is pretty simple (getting the accuracy is harder) u deflate the balls a wee bit so that they can sit on top of each other easier without falling of then it just comes to getting them on target

pep was talking about the best YOUNGSTER that he coached because he was around for the development of phil foden when he was in his teens. But when he coached Barcelona he had Messi when he was 21. It's still a fairly young age but he was already a pro at that point and didn't need any major developments.

xG means "Expected Goals". A computer calculates out of all the areas of the pitch, if someone shoots from there, how often those shots result in goals. The closer to 1, the more often people score. So like, from 1 yard from the goal-line it would be like 0.95 because it's almost impossible to miss there, but from miles out it might be 0.1 because barely anyone scores from that distance or angle. So a high xG stat for a striker shows they are good at getting into good goalscoring positions. If the xG is higher than their actual goal haul, then it suggests they need to improve on their finishing - if, like with Haaland, the xG is lower than his goal haul - then that just means the man has ice in his veins.

Hey Luke, hope you’re doing well! 😊 I’m really enjoying your football journey! 😊. When I was in primary school in Leeds, there was a boy in the year below me called Astor Haaland. This boy happened to be the son of Alf-Inge Håland and brother of Erling. So I would often see young baby Erling when it was home time when his father came to pick up his older brother Astor. I also saw Alf-Inge and Erling quite a lot back then as my father was a Leeds United teammate of Alf (Nigel Martyn, maybe you could do a video on him? He was one of the best keepers in English Football) at the time so their family would sometimes come around for dinner or were invited to parties etc. The deeply depressing thing is that I’ve known a baby that’s grown to be far more successful than I’ll ever be.

Wow I remember learning of Nigel Martyn in my England World Cup 98 annual book aged 5. I had to play as him in the garden because he had a way cooler name than David Seaman or Tim Flowers! I'll bet you have a really unique perspective from life with a premier league and international footballer for a father, Luke should pick your brains. I shouldn't be too depressed about his heights, your lesser success applies to just about every mortal already. Still a treat to have the "I knew him when he were yay high" stories

Haaland is simply a beast. I think the only person which will stop him is himself. His large frame is prone to injury. Even now there are hints that he is getting injured more often than he should be. I think he'll dominate for a few more years but i dont think his longevity is that much.

He would score 65 goals in the premier league alone, it would be much more if you add the cup games and the champions league too. The record for goals in a singular premier league campaign is 32 so he would literally double the record if that was the case. If he managed to score 65 goals in the premier league it would easily be more impressive than Messis 91 goal season, even though I’m a massive messi fan

The 65 goal projection was only for the league. He scored 5 goals in 4 UCL and one domestic cup goal so far. So there would be 20 goals to catch up with Messi by scoring in the remaining UCL games, domestic cups and national team games if he could live up the league projections. Just unfortunate he didn't get any World Cup goals in that tally.

I hope you watched United vs City match, coach. Because that match even though only resulted 2-1 for United but it was one of the best football presentation. I think he might have forgotten what it's like being a football 'superstar' at 22 though... girlfriends and babies can magically appear... who'd of guessed? Joking of course... the biggest criticism of Messi was that he is a 'one horse wonder' spending most of his brilliant but 'safe' career at Barcelona... until PSG recently of course! Playing (dominating) in all the big European league's like Ronaldo did was simply far more impressive for me! Messi never playing in the EPL is a big disappointment for most British football fans. Messi stayed at Barça because he was a youth player at that club since he was there since he was 13 years old. And he did NOT leave when the club was much worse than other big projects (because of loyalty), it is also easy to go to the most winning project every time your club is not good anymore, if he had gone to City 5-6 years ago, he would have had a few more Champions League. That comment is no sense, especially when Messi had super perfomances in international tournaments with Argentina, in the Champions League and against the bigsix of the premier league. And NOT forget, La Liga in almost all the time Messi was there, was the best league with Madrid, Sevilla, Atletico, Villareal, Athletic Bilbao, etc...

But LaLiga was only ever the same 2.5 horse race year in year out. The Prem might have been 2 or 3 per year, but over that decade or so there have been 6 or 7 legitimate contenders (big 6 at various stages, and Leicester) Either way, Barca is in Messi's blood. And blood's thicker than proving yourself to critics and nobodies. To say his career was safe when he had the highest expectations of anyone anywhere in the world, for 1000+ games, over nearly two decades... That's insulting if not insane
