I do believe that Beside of loonie zaito is the reason why fliptop became popular around the phillipines , zaito is a freestyle master he talk nonsense but can make everyone laugh from his simple lines. Before loonie is irritated to zaito because crowd favored him but in battle rap loonie is loonie but for me that 2 are the real legend of FlipTop.

I've rewatched Zaito vs Charron a lot of times now, and each time, it becomes clearer that it was quite a product of its time. Great battle, especially during the early years of the battle rap scene in the PH, but unlike Loonie vs Mark Grist or EJ vs Cali Smoov, this was more of a friendly exhibition. The scene hasn't evolved yet and wasn't as hot and as it eventually became. Zaito is a legend (especially in the old school freestyle format) and is known more for his absurd humor, freestyle ability, and his surprisingly deep poetic sensibilities in Tagalog (that is, when he chooses to actually prepare and take battles seriously, instead of just clowning around which he does 90% of the time). Zaito only showcased his absurd humor here (intentionally broken English to act dumb for comedic effect, random code switching to different languages and dialects, imperfect rhymes, sudden tone shifts from highly serious bars to jokey joke punches, etc), which works for the local crowd who *get* him, but doesn't work for foreign audiences or for those who do not really know him. There's a lot of local references and cultural differences that will just get lost in translation even with the subtitles. Charron is quite known for his freestyle ability and his rebuttal game, which unfortunately he wasn't able to showcase much. Zaito didn't give him too much to rebut since his English bars were limited (plus he had a thick accent and intentionally broken grammar). Charron returned to the PH last year, and IMO, delivered in a battle that was a hundred times better than this battle. The battle rap scene has also evolved, emcees are much more comfortable in the written format now (unlike 10 years ago where the freestyle format was still ingrained even in written format leagues like Fliptop). Crowd was kinda dead for Charron's rounds vs Zaito, but now they can also appreciate English bars much better too. He battled Smugglaz, another living legend both in the battle scene and in the music scene. Perhaps on a similar (maybe a bit lower) tier to Loonie when it comes to their cultural impact (although their skillsets are quite different). Check it out, both Charron and Smugglaz went crazy for it.

Just to explain the "kid in the can of Alaska" reference, the logo of a local milk brand called Alaska is an illustration of some random white kid. Nothing too crazy, but it's a pretty famous local brand and an iconic logo, plus the joke came out of nowhere so the crowd ate it up.
