'The Trillion Dave's' from older George is one of my favorite bits. His 1972 album 'Class Clown' really showcases his wit when he was younger, and In 2016, was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry due to its "cultural, historic, or artistic significance." Funny stuff.

George Carlin has laughed on stage, just like a quick "hah" and not a hard laugh. One example I can think of is when he said that if there is a god it has to be a man, and all the women cheered, which made him give that short laugh.

he made many good points, but, plastic bags, nylon and other waste do affect animals on land and in the sea. It isn't the other species fault that their habitat is being ruined by our carelessness. We must be respectful and take an interest in the effects our behaviours have on others.

I enjoyed your reaction young man. I discovered George in the late 70's when I was a kid. He's often given credit for his so called "prognosticating abilities" but it's not true. There were and always have been, those who are telling the truth. You only have to be reasonably intelligent , partially educated and just pay attention to what is happening. His stance on religion, drugs, America and many other things allowed the mainstream to be dismissive of his views, so he had nothing to lose or gain by lying. Pay attention to those kinds of people.

I mean, 19 years ago would be an okay guess. It's even older than that, though. 19 years ago would be right around 2005 and George Carlin died in 2008, so he would have looked older if this was only 19 years ago. I think this was more like 25 to 28 years ago, which puts it as older than I was when he died. That's nice to realize.

Here are some of my favourites from George Carlin. All of these are just clips from full shows. I'd say the '7 dirty words' and the last three are must see clips. Firstly, a routine from 1965 when he was 28. George Carlin - Stand Up About Religion kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKXTYYiEmM-topo Couple of the best parts of the above in a bit shorter clips. George Carlin - Religion kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqHEqJegmq1gbtk GEORGE CARLIN - The Ten Commandments kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZybYqeLis2Fn8k And then... "abortation" (sic) George Carlin: pro-life, abortation & the sanctity of life... kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWqbhYSAatGXjZI And now that you've spent a bit more time in UK and enjoyed it's food culture... He wouldnt have enough time to do his shows.

The planet is going to be fine, and species will come and go as they always did. It's just that one of them will be us, if we carry on like bacteria in an over-fertilized pond consuming all the oxygen until they have killed themselves. It should actually be called "saving humanity".

I know George Carlin from your 1st reaction to him, and was excited. But, because I'm not natural speaking english, I had many problems to understand his humor in the current. I really do agree on his point of view about us being tiny insignificant shit on this big planet and that humanity will some day be gone and our planet will just recover as it always did. But I don´t like this nihilistic view - when I was a teenager I thought like this but as I grew older I started to see that this view is also kind of immature cause it is easy to discard every responsibility (like, we will be fucked anyway, so why try or care?). I think that as much as we should care for other people we should care for other living beings like animals to reduce their suffering if it is caused by us. How arrogant are we to think that we can just lean back and don´t care? And also caring for others, escpecially for our children, for the next generations to come, means to care about our environment. Yes, it´s true, many of our influences we can´t reverse them anymore but we should at least try to make the future of our children the least horrible it can get and lessen their suffering the best we can.
@awaterplease7885Ай бұрын
His point flew over your head bro. You think we did some destruction to the planet, but it’s like thinking a child did some destruction to the playground after destroying a sand castle in de sandbox. The playground is still fine. It’s just the kids that feel like something important is destroyed

For me, it is a more about if I want to live in a trash can. Nope, I don´t. Then let´s clean it up somewhat. I am not only talking about my place, but everywhere I go. I can remove other folks trash too, just take more with me when I leave than my own trash. I know, it doesn´t make much difference with one person - but I do like actions that can be described with "what if everyone did that?". Start with yourself and also help some other folks out. If other folks start too - great.

@@jokervienna6433 my point was people reducing their carbon footprint is a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer pollution caused by corporations, gas powered vehicles, mining and burning of fossil fuels. Even if pollution stopped today climate change will continue. I don't see anything changing that anytime soon, especially since there's a lot of money to be made. Unless the entire world gets serious about going carbon negative and investing in green energy we are totally screwed. It would require everyone to cooperate and as we know that is never going to happen. My cigarette butts I toss out a car window or in the street are nothing compared to the sheer amount of plastic that people use every day.
