@@KuyaFredsvlogand it is the same guy of the chips ad. So he does the same, call a supposed family member, but it is he all the time, and wants to hear that he won that much on the lottery. And the slogan, a lottery millionaire isn't like a regular millionaire. It's cause they are normal people, and no rich assholes.

11:00 The guy is speaking with a heavy foreign accent, he's acting as if he doesn't understand, so that the lady will say that he won over and over again, in a way to savor the moment longer. The catch-phrase "Lotto millionaires are not like other millionaires" means that they are more playful and joyful, compared to boring old-money millionaires. In Norway, "Norsk tipping" is ran by the state, which has a monopoly on all lotto. All proceeds go to local children's sports teams, and people can elect what organizations will get their specific betting proceeds.

11:30 This is immigrant humor. The joke is that the immigrant on the other line pretend his Norwegian skills are so bad, the lottery agent has to talk to another relative who supposedly have better skills at Norwegian. The man just loves hearing he won the lottery. Lotteries here in Norway is highly regulated. Any large scale lottery have to to though Norsk Tipping.

18:46 The tag line for the snack was not translated. But it says "It would be quite an achievement to just eat one" which does explain the whole fighting scene in the ad. Meaning it is hard to just stop eating this snack when you first start eating it. You usually finish the bag in one sitting. It is that good the ad says. Well i do agree, it is a very good snack though, the best, hmm no, but very good.

Typical Norwegian humor is irony and sarcasm. Also dark humor. Foreigners tends to not understand our type of humor which I think is funny as growing up in Norway during the 90’s and 2000’s I thought everyone knew irony and sarcasm. I think Norwegian commercials are good because we dare to joke about most things, and we also line to tell a story. And due to pop culture and the cultural awareness we all share everyone tends to get the point. Personally I think we did the funniest ones back when I was a kid as opposed to now. I even remember all of them…

Må'ru så Maarud Is a play of words. "Må" means "must" as in have to. And "u" is slang for "du" meaning "you". So Essentially they're saying "If you have to then you have to". But the later "have to" is the name of their brand instead of the slang words for that sentence. 19:05 It says "It has to be well fone to just eat one" (directly translated), a better translation is probably that "It's difficult to just eat one."

There's a mistake in the subtitles for the Laban commercial with the taxi. The subtitles say that the price was "49kr" but it was actually 94kr. The mistake probably happened because she said "firognitti" or "four and ninety" rathare than "nittifire" "ninetyfour", as we can say numbers both ways in Norway, some people struggle with the ones where we put the ones before the tens.

I wish cab fares were still that low 😭 I only take the expense of the cab when I'm travelling with heavy suitcases that I can't walk the way over to the train station myself, a 20 minute walk, or if I'm too ill to walk to the hospital, but not ill enough to get an ambulance ride. It's "only" about 200kr, but imagine if I actually needed a ride home from the bar, and I lived 30-40 minutes away by car! That would be so expensive!

These are full of references to different parts of Norwegian culture, parody, sarcasm and other cultural links making your impression of them very different from someone living in Norway. By the way, if you have the chance, you should try Laban gummy men. They are made with real flavours. So while eating candy, and you eat one of those, they are just so much better. Tasting real, not like some chemical. The VitaePro is just a vitamin pill. It's important to know that all these commercial are using several layers of sarcasm and irony. In one of the videos, you talked about them suddenly speaking English. Norway is a sparsely populated country, only 5.2 million people. So films and TV shows are never dubbed. We read a lot of books and media in English. Most Norwegians speak and write English almost as easy as Norwegian, so you will hear a lot of English here. Some of the commercials are also shared in Scandinavia, and the English parts can be reused. Btw, let me know if you want to try the Laban or some other candy, I can send you a box.

"stereotypes"that arabs live 5-10 people in the same household, aunts uncles grandparents, basicslly the whole lot in one household. Turns out that's not the case here, it's just an arab-norwegian faking his broken Norwegian to be credible, so he can pass the phone so many times to him self and giggle his ass off everytime she lets him know he has become a millionaire.

@@ahkkariq7406 That might be. It's a synonym, so both are correct. I'm not a professional translator, just a native speaker of Norwegian, like yourself (judging by your videos). But I do agree "grumpy" might be more accurate than "sad" in this context.
