He was 1.92cm (6’5’’), weighed 123 kgs, and could do a 10.7 second 100m. Was he the best all round athlete of all time? Quite possibly. But he died young. He did all this with severe kidney nephrotic disease. Yeah, he was so physically compromised he could hardly finish a game. GOAT.

Jonah Lomu was the only reason I watched Rugby Union…cried buckets watching his funeral 😢😢

Oh hell yeah!!! I'm an Indian-American who moved to Australia for school, and one random day at a pub, I saw Jonah Lomu just dance and bulldoze an entire team on the tv, and I was hooked. He's my 2nd all-time favorite player in all sports, right after Sachin Tendulkar in cricket.

6'5". 120kg (265lb). 100m in 10.7 - 10.8s. Playing at 70-80% for a large portion of his career due to kidney disease. That took his life age 40. (2015)

He properly transcended the sport, everyone knew who Lomu was when he was a player. Rugby Union is very popular in England with about 30-40% of the population but is pretty much ignored by everyone else (my estimate, happy to be corrected), but Lomu was known by EVERYONE after that try against England. Being that fast at that size is freakish. An amazing athlete.

Lomu was 6ft 5ins 100 metres(approx 109 yards) in 10.8 seconds and 18.89 stones

Watch Jason Taumalolo for the NRL equivalent and a guy who is still currently playing. 6'3" - 115kgs, and scary fast and agile for his size.

Like Carly Simon said " Nobody does it , half as good as you, baby you're the best " Jonah was the GOAT. A point undisputed by the majority of rugby union fans worldwide.

Rugby Union, yes, for the All Blacks (New Zealand's national team). The first real superstar of world rugby - the combination of bulk and speed was unstoppable (he was 6ft 5in), an absolute freak of nature. Sadly he died far too soon. RIP Jonah. I've met a couple of his former teammates (Josh Kronfeld and Anton Oliver) who were locals to where I live, and they are big, but Jonah was a giant.

Take at look at ' Lord of the Wings " to appreciate his all-round excellence. All blacks tactics at the time were ' get the ball to Jonah ' 😁

If you're going to claim Jonah's number "11" as your preferred choice then it's only reasonable that you honour Jonah's sporting achievement in the same manner he did, clean shaven head with that Iconic tuft of hair and number "11" etched into your left eyebrow.
