This is the hall of fame of the artists that has retuned most times to MelFest, these had compted 5 and 6 times. Carola could not get higher because she didn't enter more than 5 years. Melfest is the biggest realease party in Sweden. Even if you don't win your song can become famous in Sweden because of all the exposure that the competition gives you.

Alexander Bard is the creator of Army of Lovers (famous band world wide from the 90’s) and a big music producent - not only in Sweden…

Fun fact: Pernilla Wahlgren is the mother of Benjamin Ingrosso (Eurovision 2018 - Dance you off). Her brother was a host for a children's show when I was a kid (mid 90's to early 2000's). They have huge TV shows in Sweden and her daughter Bianca Ingrosso is a big celebrity in Sweden with her own TV show. EDIT: Not sure if you know but Melodifestivalen is like a mini Eurovision hosted in Sweden and the winner is sent to the actual Eurovision music festival.

Of course they want to win but even if they never do their songs will get played on the radio A LOT. So in a way that is a win in itself but it also creates a problem if the artist never gets out of the ”Melodifestivalen bubble” if you get what I mean. They are all very well known and have their fans.

Wow.. someone had troubles with the text.. when the woman came with Let your spirit fly they didnt write her name. She's Pernilla Wahlgren :) she was competing in the 1985 swedish national selection with her song Picadilly Circus. Huge hit in the 80s :-)

Just a heads up: when it says “3rd in heat 2” for example, it means they didn’t make it to the final. The way it works is that the first and second place in each heat goes to the final. The third and fourth place get a second chance. So third in heat 2 means they got to the second chance but didn’t move on to the final.

You should checkout Jon Henrik Fjällgren and his 4 songs (2015,2017,2019 and 2023) he is just amazing and sings ethnic swedish music its simply amazing my favorite is 2019
