They hold them down because rugby league doesn’t have a break between every tackle or down in nfl, so they hold them down to try give their own team more time to get set for the next play coming
@docgonzales3 жыл бұрын
You got roughly 3'seconds to let the guy on the ground get up to restart, almost like like a 3 count in the wrestling. You do it to give your team enough time to get back 10 yards from the tackle to be legal for the next play. Its an art, giving your team mates the max time to reset but not get penalised for holding the man down too long after tackle is complete.

Fuck the pads and helmet you already know how we do. Aye bro your reaction was fire. MORE NRL highlights bro

In this sport (rugby league not rugby union which you are probably more familiar with) once you're tackled the ply resets as soon as the man with the ball stands up and the attacking team can start attacking again. The defence must retreat 10 Meters. If the man who made the tackle holds the man down (within reason) a bit longer then it gives his team a chance to set their defensive line again.
@jayman96182 жыл бұрын
they hold them don because the tackle isn't finished when the ref yells held they let go
@memorykara2223 жыл бұрын
in rugby u have to control the tackle area cos unlike nfl the play is live always in rugby big men have to run for 80 minutes thats the difference there is not as much stoppage time like nfl the game is 80 minutes and never stops till ref blows his whistle. so the pace of the game means injuries are bound to happen cos of the collisions

There have been 10 - 15 deaths in professional Rugby League, the last one being in 2015. There have been numerous players left paralysed, the most recent and high profile being Alex McKinnon about a decade ago.

This isn’t related to the biggest tackles but this is considered a big hit. So my favourite team is the Melbourne Storm and in 2004 they were playing the West Tigers, in the first half a Tigers player called Mark O’Neal tackled Storm player Danny Williams a little too high. Anyway Danny got up and angry, king hit Mark in the back of the head knocking him out and walked off to play. They stopped the game and Williams was sent off. He was later fined, banned for the rest of the season and got sacked by the NRL, never playing a game in his life again. Being a Storm supporter I absolutely agree with everything that he got dealt with. This incident also went down as one of the most horrific, cowardly and disgusting acts in the NRL’s history

@TranquilMoments012 жыл бұрын
Because in rugby league you have to hold a player down for a few seconds in order for the tackle to be completed. If you hit somebody and leave them alone they can get up again and run.
@aaronpagett26752 жыл бұрын
In rugby league they hold them down to slow the play the ball down, the quicker they get up the faster they play on. holding them down that extra second helps reset your defensive line. In theory a rugby league game can go the whole 80 minutes without a stop if no one scores, or drops the ball or it goes out.
@lisahoward46503 жыл бұрын
The guy wearing the head gear is the G.O.A.T…… Jonathan Thurston. He’s targeted a lot in play because he’s usually involved in setting up the play to get the ball over the line. The head gear is purely to stop him from getting split ears from impacts.

Hey mate lov your reaction to our game I put a like to your channel. You weren't sure if some players where helmets they are not helmets there called headgear it's like a thin foam . There's usually only two players that wear them the smaller players . Easy way to put it the number 1 and number 9 on their jerseys are the players that wear headgear👍 Lov seeing your reaction champion

Rugby after a tackle everyone piles on and forms a maul that competes for the ball. Nrl they get 5 or 6 runs with the ball before its the other teams turn to run. Goes back and forth. They hold them down to ensure the ref sees it as a tackle and also to buy some time for their dudes to get back into position
@carpetsnake832 жыл бұрын
They hold them down because in rugby league a tackle isn’t complete until the player carrying the ball moment has come to a complete stop Once a player moment is stopped he must get up face the opposition and “play the ball” backwards by putting on the ground and rolling his foot over the ball backwards to his team mate The tacklers stand up to two mark where the tackle took place the two markers can’t move until the ball is “played” the “player” of the ball can not move away from the markers Aussie rules afl you can’t tackle around the legs and you can’t take a player to ground you more have to shoulder or throw to the ground Soccer a tackle is sliding through and taking the ball off the player without touching him In rugby Union the ball is always live when a player is tackled the opposition can steal it so he push the ball backwards for his teammates who form a ruck to protect the ball play doesn’t continue until the bal “clears the ruck” goes past the last players foot of the team that currently has possession In nfl a tackle is complete when the body or a knee touches the ground after contact with the opposition

I reckon most young fella's in Australia (and probably NZ) have just been trying to enjoy a nice game of touch footy on lunch break and then you get the big fella that thinks hes gonna end up in the NRL or Union, gets stepped and/or folded and his ego is hurt and all he has to say upon standing back up is... run at me. Sometimes you win, most times you don't. It'll put hairs on your chest though!

So when we tackle someone we have to hold them down till the ref says “held” bc if player gets off the player he just tackled then the play is still in motion. So when the ref says “held” the players stand up and the team how has the ball rolls it under their foot and their team mate behind them receives the bal and the play is back in motion and the opposing team can tackle again.

When a table is made the tacklers is slowing up the play from the tackled player trying to get up to play the balls back for the next play.
