The good thing about outnumbered is the kids weren’t given a script, so what they say is natural, can’t think of another show which done this
@frglee3 жыл бұрын
Yep, it was clever, only partially scripted with a lot of improvisation (and lots of takes and editing, perhaps?). As the kids grew up over the years they kind of kept it in a bit, though I suppose they didn't have to. It kind of seems more real with the children being 'random' like this and the adults reacting to their peculiar logic. It makes for a unique show, for sure.
@raeburnoliver63343 жыл бұрын
The same writers made a film from the same idea of letting kids improvise, it's called "What We Did On Our Holiday" and I'd recommend it, very funny and charming

The kids where scripted but only partially scripted Jakes was more scripted than the other kids as he’s older and he could do longer on Set since older I watched a behind the scenes episode once also because this episode the kids have got to be scripted since the boy says about red striped larger and other stuff that he wouldn’t know about unless scripted and Jake was obviously scripted by how he knew to get the phone and the conversation to hold when he was talking to the grandad who had phoned up and Ben saying about Aunty Angela and how the mum turns creepy when Aunty Angela turns up so as previously said some of the kids stuff is actually scripted

As a British teacher, the telling the kid to tell grandpa he lives with him makes me laugh - school places are allocated by proximity and pretending kids live close to what is thought of as 'the better school' when they don't, is a regular scam. Mmm, with Covid, sending your children off to ANY school just now is a parental dream, LOL.

@hyphz3 жыл бұрын
The thing about "tax fraud" - it's not tax fraud, what he's talking about is that in the UK, which state school you go to is determined by where you live. If a school is full then the priority goes to people living nearer the school, and this can go right down to even adjacent streets going to different schools. The problem is that state schools are very different in quality, so he's talking about claiming Jake lives with his grandfather so he can go to a better secondary school which is nearer his Grandad's house.
