The Inbetweeners (UK) is one of the funniest comedies in existence. First caught wind of it in high school, sophomore year, i think. Loved it then and still love it now. Never gets old! Cheers to our cousins across the pond for these brilliant series!

Inbetweeners ruined comedy for me lowkey, whenever i watch American Comedy films i never laugh and instead cringe at how forced so many jokes are. Show like Inbetweeners, Jonah from Tonga, summer heights high are peak cos the comedy feels more natural and they dont ponder on a joke for too long.

The Graham Norton show is the best talk show ever, because Graham gives the guests some alcohol, chills in his seat, and he lets them speak. He explained the secret to get the most embarrasing stories from celebrities: they don't care about the audience, or him, but they always want to be the one with the "best" story on the show and impress the other famous people sititng on the couch.

Taskmaster is one of the most consistently fun shows and formats out there (and all on youtube!). Even if you don't know the contestants. Can't recommend it enough. Especially if you like React. That part with Joe Wilkinson is one of the most savage moments in the show no, recorded television, ever. Just hilarious.

Seeing Derry Girls on React has just made my day and to see how much it's loved, even more so! As a Derry man (with a Derry Girl state of mind) I've seen many scenes being filmed and know many of the locations where it was filmed. I've also had the privilege of spending time with the likes of Siobhan Sweeney (Sister Michael), Ian McElhinney (Granda Joe), Saoirse Monica Jackson (Erin), Jamie Lee O'Donnell (Michelle), Peter Campion (the Priest) and Leah O'Rourke (Jenny) when we hosted the season 3 premiere. We actually have a Derry Girls exhibition opening at work next week given how popular the show has become.

I love that one of the women hit the nail on the head as to why I often prefer British comedy - we do not spoonfeed jokes or have a character explain the punchline afterwards just to make sure everyone in the audience gets it. I also think a lot of the time, the punchlines are less predictable. I do like American comedy too, but I've noticed this key difference.

A lot of americans don't watch normal british tv shows and thats why they don't understand their accent. Most americans are used to watching the stereotypical old history british shows. Thats why whenever they try to speak in a british accent they exaggerate it so much.

Taskmaster did have a US version as well as a New Zealand version. The UK version is on season 15, NZ maybe 3?, and the US was a tragic disaster (as expected) and didn’t make it past the first season. The UK version is hilarious though.

Goodness Gracious Me is so, so hysterically funny. The Going for an English scene is a classic. Love how they poked fun at both Asian and British cultures and did it absolutely brilliantly.

I loved that the pub in GGM was called the Rub-a-Dub, pronounced in a thick West Indian accent simultaneously poking fun at them and also Cockneys. No culture was safe.

It gives me such joy to see Americans getting The Boosh. It's probably the most idiosyncratic and strange comedy of recent years. As the young lady says, it becomes part of your mind and lives there forever. A show you might want to try is "The League of Gentlemen", it is the only horror-comedy I've ever seen, it will giver you nightmares but it is THE funniest show. But in a very, very bad way.

If this list was chosen by a British person they would've experienced true British comedy. But some good choices, others didn't really showcase the comedy show landscape in Britain imo :)

I'm glad to see Cunk Getting attention. She's the only female comedian I like and one of the very few who doesn't seem awkward while performing. She also has a wickedly dry sense of humour.
