I live in UK. I had a strong suspicion that she was probably dying. When her doctors said they were very concerned for her health, and yet she wasn't being taken to hospital. In other words there was nothing they could do to make her better, so she was just being made comfortable as possible in her own home. Balmoral was her favourite place to be, so fitting for her to spend her final hours there.

When you get notified that a very frail relative is being ‘kept comfortable’, you are basically being told it’s end of life care’ so prepare for the worse. Even though you know that it’s going to happen and in my mothers case was a blessed relief, the emotional shock is a stunning blow. It’s takes nothing to be kind.

As far as I am aware, the late Queen had a form of bone cancer. She was at Balmoral but chose to stay longer than usual. The Queen and her late husband loved Balmoral and the Royal Family spent every summer there. I am glad the Queen passed in a place she loved. I think she stayed because she knew. No Princess Anne known as Princess Royal, could never have been Queen. At the time of Anne's birth any male children came first, so although she is the 2nd eldest of the Queens children, in the line of succession she placed after her brothers. However the Queen changed the rule of succession following Princess Charlotte (William & Catherine's) second child, is now included in the line of succession after her Brother George. Tyler cannot believe you have only heard of the traitor Harry and not his brother William. William is now the Prince of Wales and will, on the death of The King, be our next King. I believe traitor Harry is about 7th in line to the throne (at the moment)!!!!

She pledged at 21 years old "that her life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to the service of the nation and to the imperial family of nations (the Commonwealth)" And she kept her promise. She was suffering from bone cancer. But none of us knew as she continued to make public engagements and always with that beautiful beautiful smile and carried out her duty to meet with Liz Truss 2 days before her death. A commentator said that later, she even wrote to comfort some place which had met with some weather disaster

Anne was the one who stuck by her side and escorted her mothers coffin from Balmoral to Aberdeen, then to Edinburgh, through to London. She is incredible and given he's in her 70s herself, I don't know how she did it without collapsing with exhaustion. The woman is incredible x

Tyler I cried for almost a month she personified the grandmother to us all....and I'm crying again 😢 the loss will be with us always. It was a shock but not a surprise. When the Queen moved court from Windsor Castle to Balmoral Castle a lot of people suspected she wouldn’t return from there, when The Queen then had the outgoing and incoming PM’s fly up to Scotland for their meeting it pretty much confirmed it, I just don’t think we all quite expected it to be so soon. When the Palace made an announcement on the Queens health it was highly irregular so we knew this wasn’t just something that was going to pass. Balmoral Castle in Scotland was The Queens favourite place in the whole world, if she could have chosen anywhere to pass away it would have been up in The Scottish Highlands. The Queen would also have been very conscious of the fact that if she passed away in her beloved Scotland then her beloved Scot’s people would get a full ceremonial event in Scotland. There was things going on with the Queens health for months but The Palace always play down Royal health issues for the monarch’s dignity and also to damp down speculation and panic. The company that makes all the flags for The Royal family is near where I live and they suspected it was coming some weeks ago when they received an order for a Royal standard that was clearly the dimensions of a coffin drape. We all took her for granted, she had been there like forever lol. No there were never questions about The queen and princess Royal’s relationship, they adored each other. Princess Anne used to be a rider on team GB’s 3 day eventing team she won a silver medal, her daughter zara Tindal is also an Olympic equestrian and has won Gold and Silver for team GB.

The Princess Royal Anne was staying with her mother. Charles was also already in Scotland and had been seeing her daily so it didn't take him long to get there. Unfortunately, the Queen's other two children Andrew and Edward were in London and she had passed by the time they got there. Edward's wife Sophie was like her daughter and was also on the flight to be with her. Of course William was there to drive his aunt and uncles to see her. By the next day all of her grandchildren arrived and looked at the flowers laid at the gates. So sad her granddaughters, Zara Phillips (Anne's daughter), Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie (Andrew's daughters) and Lady Louise Windsor (Edward's daughter) were all so emotional it was heartbreaking to see. Peter Phillips (Anne's son) was also there. The only grandchild that did not go to Balmoral was James (Edward's son). He is only 14.

She was the nation's grandmother, we loved her just as if she were. You have to remember, during WW2 our royal family stayed, during the blitz when London was bombed they stayed, they walked among the bombed streets and their home was also bombed like ours. They hid in the dungeons underground. Our Queen was part of the war effort when you g, she learnt how to be a mechanic, she knew how to strip a d rebuild a jeep engine, when she was young she used to fix her own jeep if it broke down in the countryside rather than call for help. She drove at such break neck speed that she had the king of Saudi Arabia begging her to slow down. When she was on horseback on parade someone tried to assassinate her, she just laughed and carried on. She was a lioness and can't be replaced

I wonder if she knew that it was her last days and was prepared for her passing at Balmoral ..... and then, like you mentioned, she would be able to say "farewell" to the people of Scotland as well as of those of England. Instead of just lying in state in London. The road trip was extremely dramatic and heart tugging especially when the motorway into the centre of London came to a standstill and drivers alighted their vehicles to pay their respects..... a once in a life time experience. That's a good point though and something I've thought of a lot this last week - We found out The Queen had died about 2 hours after she did. Those two hours are literally the only time that Charles has had to grieve and mourn his mum. His sister and his two brothers have had more time because they're not as in focus as Charles is but it must have been "Right, your mum has passed, you have two hours and to gather your emotions then you have to address entire world, keep it together and then you're going on a tour of the UK" I'm sure it's hard for them all but I really do feel for Charles right now and people have the cheek to slate him just because he said "This bloody pen isn't working". You try losing your beloved mother, having 2 hours to get over it and keep yourself together 24/7!

Princess Anne - who was eventually created Princess Royal - is a most interesting character. I think I would be a bit scared to meet her; she has the reputation of being direct and straightforward, and very hard-working and capable. (Although she is the only member of the Royal Family to be convicted of a criminal offence; her Bull Terriers got out of hand and bit a child!) And she genuinely was an absolutely top equestrian, competing in the Moscow Olympics. Her daughter Zara continued that, winning major Olympic and European titles. Zara has married Mike Tindall, a rugby player and former Captain of England - don't argue with him either! Zara and Mike are very much members of the Royal Family.

14:20 As mentioned in the video, Balmoral Castle is not part of the Crown Estates (property held by the monarchy as an institution but effectively owned by the country) but rather owned privately by the Queen (and now the King as her heir). The estate was bought by Prince Albert (husband of Queen Victoria). The house standing there was thought to be too small so the 'new' castle was built in the mid-1th century. After her husband's death, Victoria spent a lot of time at Balmoral, perhaps because of its isolation and privacy it afforded or perhaps because of the building's close links with her late husband who had been very much involved in its design. Balmoral has remained a favourite summer retreat for the Royal Family ever since. It was not unusual for the Queen to be at Balmoral at this time of year. She had spent her summers there since childhood

There were NO "dramas" in the Queen's relationship with Anne, the Princess Royal. Mutual respect, love and gratitude the whole way. The Queen's Doctors famously never commented on her health- so an announcement that they were 'concerned' meant it was pretty bad! The Princess Royal (her daughter Anne) was already by her side, Charles arrived in time, but the others never made it, sadly. The Queen always summered at Balmoral- she would normally have returned to London by now, but unusually the Outgoing and Incoming Prime Ministers travelled to where she was for the official handover. This would usually have been at Buckingham Palace. Clearly it was known over the summer that the Queen was getting frailer. It seems incredible that she was able to meet them as planned two days before her death.

I don't know if anyone will ever know what it cost the Queen to appear during the Platinum Jubilee and I think that on her last official duty , she must have done it on sheer willpower, her final duty had to be done to ensure that the new prime minister would have full credibility in the smooth transition of power , she really was somehow elevated in a special way and it was by the people .

There was never any serious questions about Anne and The Queen's relationship. They were mother and daughter like any other however Anne is very much her father's daughter and has a lot of her dad's mannerisms and demeaners. The Queen is known to be patient, tolerant and kind to everyone whereas Anne, despite being kind and tolerant herself, doesn't have much patience, particularly with the press, much like her father. She doesn't take crap from anybody and there was even once an attempt to kidnap her and as the kidnapper said "You're coming with me" and tried to drag her out the car, Anne said "NOT BLOODY LIKELY!" and kicked him back and slammed/locked the door. A friend of mine has been personal photographer to Anne a few times and says she's very down to Earth but has a very sharp wit and if she doesn't like something, she'll tell you, again, much like her father. There's even a clip of Princess Anne trying to teach The Queen how to use Zoom and you can sense how "to the point" she is when she says "Right Mother, you should be able to see 5 faces, is that right?" and The Queen says "Well I can see 4..." and Princess Anne just goes "That's fine, you know what I look like..." xD They loved each other dearly but just different personalities.

My dad was born after the Queen ascended the throne. My mother too. Most of us only knew the Queen as our head of state.

Yes, Balmoral in Scotland was one of her fave places. It was her husbands fave place & they went there every summer for a few months, it was a tradition. That's why she was there when she passed away. I think it was something like June to October they spent there.

The arrangements for this eventuality have been in place quite literally for decades and the Queen herself was involved in the planning as well as every one involved from police, Army, Navy, Royal Air Force, transportation, route plannjng indeed EVERY items, thousands of people. The corresponding plans are all in place for King Charles III in that they will duplicate everything. I can remember sitting in the classroom when the headmaster opened the door and annkunced that King George vI had just died. I cant recsll it very clearly and I was 11. My first thoughts, being a philatalist was "there will be new stamps" . Every boy in those days collected stamps and the King's head was on most of the stamps throughout the whole world. There's a funny story on the internet - The Queen was either at Balmoral or on her Sandringham Estate, she was having a picnic in the grounds with her Gamekeeper I think it was when two American tourists walked by and asked if they'd ever met the Queen and what was she like. She said to them "you'd better ask him, he works for her!". The Gamekeeper was being interviewed for a programme about the Queen and he told the story. He didn't say what answer he gave the tourists. 😅

Balmoral isn’t just her summer vacation residence. She actually owned it along with Sandringham palace. So every summer she stayed at balmoral, every year she celebrated Xmas and new year at sandringham. Windsor castle was her official residence as monarch for general living and Buckingham palace is the official residence of the monarch when conducting business in London or for events ect ect. Of course there’s other castles that are crown owned like Kensington and frogmore. But the queen herself and now the King actually own Balmoral and sandringham within their family line.

It’s weird when the news first broke that she was unwell and under supervision, I messaged my best friend saying I think the queen is dead, she is unwell and all the family rushing back.. reminds me of when my dad died and me rushing back.. so then just watched waiting for the news to actually come and the more they said the more I just knew what was coming but the moment Huw said it on BBC news and they shown the flag at half mast.. As the first daughter of the monarch- she is the princess Royal. A title passed down from her grand aunt and great grand aunt. It should pass down to Charlotte on the ascension of her father William AFTER the death of Anne. Notably the Queens sister- princess Margaret missed out on the title- because her aunt, Princess Mary held the title, and when she passed, Queen Elizabeth was now in power, and Anne as the sovereigns daughter now had precedence of the title “princess royal” over Margaret.

Some "normal" people are just into horses, you don't have to be rich. There's a presenter on the Radio here in the UK, called Sara Cox. Her father was a farmer but was never the farm owner. The queen loved balmoral in Scotland. She always spent her summers there. I like to think she knew that it was her time and balmoral was the place she wanted to pass. And that she was so dedicated that she knew her passing in Scotland would make it easier for the people of Scotland to see her before she left for good. If she had died in London her beloved Scotland would not of had the chance to say goodbye. She is still working even after death. She has organised her burial herself and on Monday 19th of September 2022, on Elizabeth day, you will see her last appearance with a FULL military honour guard. The likes the world has never seen before and for most will never see again 😞. Let’s hope King Charles can provide the people with the same piece of mind and protection that his mother gave a nation. She watched our government on our behalf from afar and always let them know that she was the boss. If it wasn’t good for the people she would not sign off on it. In fact. You did not want to be the one asking her consent on something she didn’t like. That in itself would not hold you in good favour. God save the king as long as he’s a good one

If you're interested in the details of what the Queen did in her role, see if you can get hold of a documentary made called "Elizabeth R". It's almost 2 hours long and packed with details, with the Queen herself commenting all the way through with a narrator additionally. It was made way back in 1992 but that really doesn't seem to matter when you're watching it. It was on TV on the BBC in the UK last night (Sept 16th 2022) and I was rapt. So many members of the Royal Family no longer alive were in it, Princess Diana, Princess Margaret (the Queen's sister), The Queen Mother (also called Queen Elizabeth) and obviously also all those still living.

I was on the way to a football game when we found out she had passed. We'd kept up with it throughout the day, noticing how the bbc and sky were wearing black and the sombre way things were suggested it was just a matter of time. Ended up being the glummest football game I'd been to.

Balmoral Castle is owned by the Family themselves. It's not a "Crown Residence" which is held in trust by the Government for use by the reigning monarch - Buckingham Palace is a Crown Residence, not owned by the PERSON of the King or Queen, but held in trust FOR "The Crown" by the Government. The Queen loved Balmoral and loved Scotland. She would go there on her summer breaks from London almost each and every year. I have a feeling she knew her time was close and simply wanted to pass in the place she loved most. She got to leave this world in her home, surrounded by her children and family. Couldn't wish for a better end for any of us, really.

Charles is Queen Elizabeth's first born. In any case, under the old rules, it was the oldest son who would inherit the throne. A daughter would ascend to the throne only if there were no male heirs. Therefore, even had princess Anne been born first, she would have become queen only if all of her brothers had either passed away before her or abdicated. Just a few years ago Queen Elizabeth changed the rules so that in the future it will be the first born (regardless of gender) who will inherit the throne and, should they abdicate or pass away before their younger siblings, then birth order alone will determine who becomes king or queen next.

The Queen always spends the whole of summer up to October each year at her private home at Balmoral in Scotland . The property was bought by Prince Albert , Queen Victorias husband . The Queen had her private time with her family and friends and dignitaries during that lengthy summer break each year . The Queens Mother was Scottish nobility. Many castles in Scotland are owned by private individuals . On the Queens Balmoral estate , she drove across wild highland lands , rode her horses and had hunting parties , all the usual country pursuits in the Scottish highlands .

I think it must have been something catastrophic to the Queen's health which caused her to die so suddenly, like a fall or heart attack. We all thought she'd get to 100 like her mother 😞 God rest her soul....she will be the most greatly missed person for hundreds of years

So I immediately turned on the TV to find out they were not talking anything about it in the US! The US honestly didn’t announcement it till hours later! So sad. It's comforting to know that the Queen died in her most favourite place in the world. She knew she was dying that's why she went and that's why she invited Harry and his handler to Balmoral, but they rudely declined. Anne and Charles were staying just down the road as they knew as we all knew the end was near. She had lost so much weight between the Jubilee and swearing in the new Prime Minister, she was a shell of herself, but still held the reigns. Balmoral was bought by Prince Albert as a wedding present for Queen Victoria and it's been a royal favourite ever since. Still doesn't feel real.

Charles and Anne (and their spouses) were already in Scotland. Anne and her husband were at Balmoral and Charles and Camilla were at Dumfries House in southern Scotland. I believe Edward (with Sophie), Andrew, and William got there before she died. They were all in Windsor and share a plane up. Harry got there just after the Queen died.

The Queen had a meeting with Privy councillor's on Wednesday 7th September, where she felt unwell during so had to abandon the engagement which was unprecedented for her and by Thursday morning Doctors were concerned by how weak she was feeling. The doctors then placed her on a drip hoping she'll pull through but over the course of the day the Queen got gradually worse by which time Doctors couldn't do anything else but to make her comfortable. so the call was made to the family to pay their last respects. Some family made it in time whilst others didn't. The Queen past away in the afternoon of Thursday September 8th.

When we heard the docs were concerned we knew she had gone, the very air in Britain changed, and sadness fell onto our country. I'm not a Royalist but have admired our Queen for her loyalty to the people. I'm 53, so in my lifetime (hopefully) I will see 3 Monarchs, her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll, King Charles lll, now 73, and William the Prince of Wales. There was some concern after people noticed bruising on her hands in the picture of her with Liz Truss, this is called mottling and typically happens in the final week of someone's life. It's caused by the heart not being able to pump blood effectively.
