Cheers, Norse! Ask your Dane neighbors why in the world do they have the same Ignat tradition of xmas slaughtering of the pig and how in the world did the Nords mistake the Goths for Getics/Dacians so bad that they actually called themselves Dacia for a while, when even Michael The Brave, after uniting the Dacian regions for the first time since before Julius Caesar, in 1600, didn't get to call it Dacia or Romania, (he got betrayed and assassinated by his own Italian mercenary General Basta at the orders of his own allied Habsburg Emperor, I bet he would have changed the name) but Danes said: wth, we're Romanians! Let's be the Northern Dacia! :P Love from Romania!
@oh515
@oh515 Жыл бұрын
@@alexandrupatru2892 We have the same tradition in Norway, but not so much private anymore. I don't know much about the history you are telling here, but the Danes also eat kartoffels, while we in Norway eat potatoes. And did you know the famous Swedish meatballs originally come from the Turkish kofte but are maiden in today's Moldova for King Karl of Sweden? He did love them so much that he brought the receipt home to Sweden. Kofte made in Moldova is of course chiftele. That means the famous IKEA meatballs are originated from chiftele👍

"Current" is the same thing as "drafty" or "draughty" in English. And it can mess you up since Romania has 4 distinct and clearly defined seasons and a very high thermal variations from summer to winter. All this generates a ton of draft with cold air currents sipping in at ground level even in very hot summer days.

Thank you. 🙏❤️ It’s such a shame we had that rubbish of communist administration for so many decades and Moldova stolen from us for more than 100 years… because if we had the chance to go back to what we were in the 30s, the country would be so much better today and the people far more prosperous and nature better preserved and the entire nation would have been much healthier and happier…

Regarding the food there's a bit of culture mixing as well, since the Ottomans were around here for a while along the Hungarians. For eg Sarmale, are basically Turkish but theirs are with beef while the Romanian version is using pork. Yea, the apartment blocs "culture" are thanks to the communist era... And in general it sucks.

Romania is pretty fusion in itself, in the south you have the influence of turkish & greek kitchen, while in Transylvania of course that the heritage of the empire is everywhere, including the food. Also the regions have points of much difference & except the people from Bucharest nobody likes Bucharest 😅 Romania is mainly a rural country and the houses are present in all cities, I am from a city 100 km north of Oradea , 120,000 inhabitants, 70% sure live in houses with yard, garden, etc.

Great and sincere commentary. A question: besides the “curent”, do you also have any comments about drinking cold water? You know, drinking cold water is the second most dangerous thing you could do to your health. I asked for ice water in few restaurants: after the waiter asked again just to make sure , followed by rolling his/her eyes, I was always brought a glass full of ice only, sometimes with a teaspoon. I also found very hard to buy ice cold bottles or cans of water or sweet drinks in Bucharest. The best place was a small shop next to the Cișmigiu Park, by the Lazar High School: the room temperature drinks were in a basket, the “cold” drinks were in an unplugged Coca Cola cooler, also at room temperature. My own Romanian family stays way away from cold water. Question: am I the only one with this perception, or other experienced the same thing? Unrelated, I am totally in love with the Romanian mountains, especially Valea Prahovei, where I spent lot of time in my teenage years. All in all, a very moving you tube clip. Thank you.
