Tja klappt nicht immer ich und mein Bruder sind beides von Geburt an Bayern Fans unsere liebe galt immer München, zur Verzweiflung meines Vaters. Muss aber gestehen das ich große Sympathie für Schalke hege, dafür hat mein Vater alles getan, alle 2 Wochen mit dem Fahrrad ins Parkstadion und die Heimspiele sehen und die Reise 97 durfte ich auch begleiten, jedes Heimspiel im Uefa Cup gesehen und Finale sogar in Mailand mit dem Sonderzug gewesen. Hat aber alles nichts geändert meine Liebe gilt nach wie vor dem FCB, so weit das ich den Pott verlassen habe und in das wunderschöne Bayern gezogen bin und nun auch hier lebe.

For away games, there are shirts and hats saying "Nordkurve in deiner Stadt" which might be roughly translated into " the northern curve came to your town" Around 12:00 the guy in the blue shirt as a guest in the curve, the Schalker Headcoch Domenico Tedesco was honored to be invited to that

The stadium is named from a german brewery Veltins. So it is the Veltins Arena. The Nordkurve is the grand stand where all the Ultras are supporting the Team during the game. The Nordkurve name was taken off the old stadium which was named Parkstadion. Gelsenkirchen is the city and Schalke is a district of Gelsenkirchen. FC Schalke 04 has a number of members more than 170.000. Once a Schalker, always a Schalker is the Motto……. Glück Auf!!!

Schalke is still with its recent struggles one of the biggest clubs in Europe. The surrounding area is very poor, with a high unemployment. People work and save every cent to completely go crazy on the weekends. The Nordkurve is the stand behind the North Goal were the active supporter groups are. Translated it meand North curve. Once you are a fan its a love that, i’m not gonna lie, is mostly based on pain and bittersweetness. 90 Minutes inside the stadium will make u fall in love, ive brought my American gf home from College to a game and she was frightened.

Nordkurve is the home supporter/ultra stand at the north side of the stadium, Gelsenkirchen is the name of the city/village Schalke originates from. Fact is, their tunnel is a tribute to Gelsenkirchen's coal mining industry and has the structure of these mined stone walls. It's incredibly beautiful and thoughtful!

In the meanwhile I suggest you do own research into the history of Gelsenkirchen, the genesis of how Schalke was formed, the roots in the mining industry that dominates that Ruhr and is deeply attached to S04. I also would recommend seeing what a bastion of anti Nazi that Gelsenkirchen was 1933-45, what a refuge S04 became for many players who fell out with the Nazi regime and were able to continue playing in relative safety in Gelsenkirchen subsequently giving us our record years.
