@@NepDaStep although he still plays, he's had more of an impact at the warriors. At the sharks he doesn't run the ball as much as he used too and didn't play his best this year (battling injuries and since it was his first year at the sharks). Maybe next year he'll have more of an impact, once he gets used to being at the sharks.
@Xauthereal15 жыл бұрын
He started his career with New Zealand warriors, he now plays with cronulla sharks and is around 29 years old, he plays at the half back position, which is similar to a pg/playmaker in basketball

@@NepDaStep I agree for sure, they're actually two players that transitioned from NRL to NFL. Jarryd hayne from parramatta eels and Valentine Holmes from cronulla sharks. Jarryd hayne played for 49ers special team and I think Valentine plays running back for the giants

Also remember Shaun & other players play the whole game i.e. no subbing different teams onto the field. So not only is he fast, but they have to keep it up for most of the game. He is not only fast, and a stepper, but they have to be the play maker, play defense, assist tries, stop tries etc etc while trying not to get taken out. Then you get to see these high lights in between. It's hard out.
@royceturia15625 жыл бұрын
Yeah bro - Shaun Johnson chased down Greg Inglis and other "not as fast" players like Michael Jennings, Daniel Tupou etc - Total Speed & Stepping Freak. Often too - his tries & kicks were the winning tries & field goal kicks in the last seconds of the game especially that one where he juked or stepped the whole team. Shaun is not retired yet but he is getting older now. He is from NZ and used to play for NZ Warriors for ages. Now currently plays for Cronualla Sharks in Australia. He just played in the NZ game against Tonga last night and scored 3 tries. Tonga is becoming a power house in Rugby League now but Shaun is still carving up. The try 4:25. I was at that game. It was pouring down with rain here in Auckland, NZ. It was 16-16 between Warriors and Panthers so it was golden point, meaning the past full time so the 2 teams have a 5 minute break then carry on playing till the first team to score wins. Warriors lost the a few games before this during golden point so we fans were worried as hell. Usually teams go for drop goals when they're close to the post so the opposition look for an take out there best kicker. At this time Johnson was the kicker they were looking at taking him out before he drop kicks. He stepped them instead an went straight for the try line. Mt Smart Stadium went ape shit that night. YEEEAH BOY!!!!!!

The thing about SJ was the way he moved like no other IMO, yeah he's been injured a few times and of course his game had to evolve ( just like Benji Marshall) but at his peak he was absolutely 100% the best. Way better than Ponga, yeah he has a step too but no were near as fluid/smooth. The only one near the move is RTS for me, BUT SJ can kick, makes more try assists than most and dummies/fakes better than the rest for sure! Past his peak of course but that style is over at 25 to be honest... Still the best I have seen ever!
@Drugon-Dag Жыл бұрын
I believe shaun johnson has the better step in his prime and in general has much better pace and field awareness than both rts and kayln ponga; although roger tuivasa-sheck probably has the most smooth, quick, and fluid split step I've seen so far.
@memorykara2224 жыл бұрын
hi at 2:05/2:15 the change of speed we call a goose step, in America it would be similar to a hesitation or hesi in bball. He slows up gives a slight hop which is when he kicks his feet out. ( which slows the defender cos he is now worried of the side step) when u see the defender slow up u put the peddle down or in bball terminology you blow by your defender.oh you also hop before u sidestep.So the hop before the step or blow by is a hesi. So any player like benji marshall with a sidestep also has to have the goose step. as an alternative. Like crossover or blow by sorry i love bball aswell

Favourite player for ages but small fell out of form, maybe coming to end of career but still has time to refind form. Kayln Ponga been playing for not even 2 years and has more stylish steps coming from a touch background. In saying that so did Shaun Johnson and his touch clips can be found on youtube, with some dirty jukes.

And a field goal is worth one point, u can kick a field goal at any time in the game. Field goals are very hard to do because you have to allow the ball to bounce of the ground before you kick it, we call it a drop kick. Field goals are usually attempted towards the end of the match to clutch a win.

He is still playing but in the last yew years of his career. Watch quentin ponya in his first year he is special, watch the career of benji marshall what a talent and the amazing skills of roger toa sheck. Now put them all together what you got KIWIS mate. One big difference between kiwis and Australians is that in NZ everyone playing rugby union or league is taught how to kick the ball and then pass and tackle. In Australia they are taught passing and tackling. This means that many nrl teams have a kiwi as there kicker also big front rowers from NZ can kick the ball.
