It rained this morning, which is the worst, now it's 30c and rising (still morning), and the air is so humid you can practically drink it.

We hit 39 in Sydney today. I think the weather app said “39 but feels like 42” .. not to put your Indiana temps to shame as I get it.. and have even broken down in Death Vally USA in 49 degrees - but they say the Aussie sun feels hotter because of earths proximity to the sun in our Summer as well as the ozone depletion.

I once read a story in the comments section of another KZbin video about a young American lady tourist. One evening, she was dressed and ready to hang out with a couple of Aussie men for the evening. She knocked on their door. But when they saw her top with the brand name Roots on it, they suggested that she change it before going out. You can imagine what some men might start saying to her after a couple of beers.

Thanks Charlie, that was a fun complication! I'm sure he works hard to make these, don't let his casual rambles fool you! Funny, I never imagined Indiana being that hot! 🤔 Don't get snowed in this Christmas! Cheers from Down Under! 🙋

43 degrees Celsius here yesterday, not a lot of fun. That's 110 in that outdated old F system you Americans persist in using. Few years ago it was around 47C for days on end, and it didn't get much cooler at night, think it only got down to about 35C overnight. I remember working night shift, we finished at 6am. Heard on the radio as I was leaving, the temperature was already 38C. Sun was not even up yet. That day got to 48C (about 120 F). Try sleeping through that without aircon (didn't have aircon at the time).Drove home, pulled the key from the ignition and put it in my pocket, and it burned my damned leg. I had to try to sleep in the bathtub, with ice in the water. Brutal.

Esky was a brand name for cooler boxes that were made by Malleys Ltd in the early 1950s. They became so popular that esky became the name for cooler boxes the same as Bic became the name for disposable pens.

I'm not so sure about the fact that there's a hole in the ozone layer above Australia. Apparently the reason why Oz is so hot is because where Australia sits on an a revolving axis closer to the sun. And right now this summer in Queensland is mixed with hot sun rain and humidity, mixed bag. Love your channel!

The Esky thing is like how people call Jaffles (toasties) a Breville. For some unknown reason as some products were introduced into Australia back in the day, people named them (and the thing they made or did) after the brand instead of what they're known as everywhere else in the world. Australia is funny place like that, there will be the most common names used that everyone knows, but people do still (for example) call them coolers at the same time - multi names for the same thing.

The majority of Australia has just come out of a heatwave so I would say that summer has arrived. The Northern parts of Australia are in the tropics so summer is also their wet season so they have high temperatures and lots of rain but the southern areas just get hot without the rain. Australia is the driest continent and I live in south Australia the driest state in Australia, Adelaide's highest recorded temperature is 50.3c i think that is somewhere between 120 to 130 in American but all I can say is that is dam hot and I nearly turned on my air-conditioning.

I used to live in Canada and was talking about my "cooler" with my housemate the other day who asked what the fuck i was talking about😂 When he figured it out he told me its a fucking esky🤣 Esky is a brand, bit like how people say rollerskates but that is just a brand and they're inline skates🤷‍♀️ I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and the summers here arent anywhere as hot/humid as the summers I experienced living in Toronto, Canada for 11 years but the sun feels a lot hotter on the skin-thr sun is definitely different here in this part of the world.

Hi Charlie, Don't ever ask an Aussie, "What team do you root for?" In Australia to root means to have s##. So, never wear anything from anything featuring the name of that athlete brand Roots in Australia or on your channel. People will either laugh at you or at least feel uncomfortable. I recently saw an Asian lady and her little boy at our local supermarket. She was wearing a top with that particular brand name on it. So l went over to her and discreetly explained why she shouldn't wear that again, especially in public. I hope that she understood me and doesn't do that again. I'm starting another comment.
