Aussie here! Sadly, have done many a shoey in my time. Will always prefer the other Aussie drinking tradition better - any other Aussies here done their Goon of Fortune time?

I've seen old movies with guys drinking champagne out of women's shoes. This guy's taking credit for something he shouldn't. Shoeys are dumb. It used to be a way to initiate tourists but now it's gone too far and giving us a bad reputation.

Three-time World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss did a shoey on the podium after clinching one of his titles in the 2000s - and I'm sure he took a swig from the boot on other occasions as well..

You have to check out "The Mad Hueys", as that last fella pointed out he did it with his mates on the Gold Coast. And they were The Mad Hueys, a bunch of top Aussie blokes that love surfing and fishing from the Goldy and are worth reacting too

Yeah shoeies have been around for a while now. This driver I'd say due to media and social media these days or those days took this to the world to know about. But here in Oz it was a known thing well before 2015 when this driver did it..

@jenniferharrison891522 сағат бұрын
The shoey was supposedly started with a Formula 1 winner drinking champagne from his shoe! It's mainly a beer drinking bogan thing now, done at any big car meeting! 😄

Yeah... Um.... The guy interviewed IS said "race car driver" 😂

All I remember about having fun with the Hills Hoist (clothes line to dry washing on in the backyard) was swinging around on it until mum caught us lol
@jenniferharrison891522 сағат бұрын
@@CharlieDownUnder The Hills Hoist is an Australian invented rotating washing line - teen boys loved playing on them! A goon bag is a foiled sack of cheap wine with a plastic button to let out the contents, as required! I guess it's a drinking game when combined! 🤔
@Danger_Mouse_0021 сағат бұрын
@@CharlieDownUnderthat's your next video to react on 😎 goon bag is the bag inside a box of wine. Hills hoist is a clothes line that can spin around when the wind picks up with the clothes hanging off it. It also spins as you can stand in one spot and put your clothes on the line and don't have to walk all around it. Wheel of fortune you already know. Put all these together and you'll get the idea.

Back in the early 80's when I was young at parties and were drunk blokes would occasionally take their girlfriend's shoe off and drink from it, to show how much he liked her. Like a bogan Cinderella story.

I can think of three well known people here in Australia with the Dowling surname. Is that name unheard of in the USA? Just as I saw another clip in here of a seppo who couldn't pronounce the surname, "Abbott.' C'mon, surely education can't be that bad in the USA?

We change any word although it's not always abbreviated as in Accadacca. We change it so it's easier to say. And yes ACDC was formed in Australia by some immigrants from the UK but they're so Aussie it's not funny! We shorten then add "o" "ie" or "z" to words. We invented the word selfie.
