Its next level. I'm sure there is a doco on the preparation they go through for the New Years Eve display and how long it takes as I've seen it. I'd suggest you look it up and you could watch it in your own time. They have already started to prepare for 2026.

See if you can find any videos on White Night in Melbourne (Oz, not Florida) . It’s called that because all the buildings in the city are lit up with laser projections. And, in local lingo, it’s pronounced Melbn , not Melborn .

I’ve been living in Australia for 22 years. I was born in the UK black Jamaican and I thought the UK had really good fireworks but Sydney is the best in the world. It’s amazing. It’s magical. It’s so spectacular you can’t beat it anywhere else. The people and the environment everybody is respectful. There are two firework events one at 9 o’clock fireworks for the children who stay out late to watch them and the 12 o’clock fireworks. It’s fantastic. It’s what makes Sydney New Year is the best?

I hope you are enjoying Australia ... as a secondary teacher I love the diversity of the students I am now seeing coming though the system .... Not to mention the diversity of the TEACHERS!!! When I started teaching n 1975 (yes 50 years ago!!) ... the students were all white aussies (maybe a few greeks or italians)... by the late 70's lots of Vietnamese & Cambodians ...since then we just opened our arms and said we don't care where you come from, what language you speak, or what colour skin you have ... jump into the Aussie backyard pool ... contribute what you can ... because the more you contribute the more you will get back!!

My daughter used to run up the street with us, where we gathered with neighbours to watch the 9 pm fireworks. We live in a high point and could see a little bit of the higher fireworks. We could hear them too. Fun times. Great atmosphere. You get to see much more on screen though and there are more to watch at midnight. The children love the 9 pm ones. It’s late enough for them.

@@aussieguy3689years ago the soundtrack was just as creative and iconic as the fireworks display itself. It would often be tracks that represented either popular music from the previous year or events of that previous year (think music from the Sydney Olympics, or Candle in the Wind from Princess Diana’s funeral, or XYZ pop star’s big hit from the last 12 months, or for the millennium they had iconic music of the 20th century). The fireworks would all be intricately timed to the music. Due to the messiness of music rights these days particularly online, they now put the fireworks to a very generic sounding original track like this one. That way they can put out the live stream online and allow people everywhere to share it, react to it etc without the risk of copyright mess… while the official TV broadcast still features an original soundtrack. Unfortunately it means most people who ever see it get the boring version lol

No it can't. It is borrowing money and Medicare is slowly collapsing. Check the numbers and try again. Young Australian taxpayers can't afford the taxes they are paying as they can't even afford somewhere to live. The U.S. economy is far more productive and is outperforming the Australian economy and the AUD is worth 62 US cents. Don't listen to Australians. They are brainwashed by their Government and delusional. The U.S. has 350 million people and Australia only has 25 million. They did have a mining boom but they squandered the lot.

The Foti family have done the Sydney New Years fireworks since 1998. It takes them roughly 10 months to put their idea into reality and this years cost around $6.8 million or $45k per minute but generated around $156 million in extra spending. I was on a Navy ship during the 2000 New Years fireworks in Sydney, best seat in the house and it was spectacular. They are the best at what they do and Sydney has the best New Years celebrations.

Hello! Casually reading off a newsletter from The Sydney Morning Herald here, the 2024-25 NYE fireworks had nine tonnes of fireworks launched at 16 different locations over the 20 minutes of show, which was 8 minutes longer than the 12 minute 2023-24 fireworks. There were also 23,000 individual pyrotechnic shots, 40,000 shooting ground-based effects and more than 13,000 aerial shells included in the display with an estimated cost of $6.3 million AUD--says SBS Australia. The fireworks stretched seven kilometres (if I'm calculating correctly, that's 22965.9 feet (sorry Americans if this doesn't make sense!)) and reached a height of 450 metres! Also, there was more than 1000 boats on the water... best view ever! Sorry for ranting all, Happy New Year!

And Sydney folks who spend the day just jostling for a good viewing position tend to get quite hoity-toity in reviewing one display over another. You, on the other hand, came to it fresh. It IS amazing and I personally spent 7 hours in transit plus another 2 hours walking just to catch a decent glimpse. Happy '25, man! 🌠

It's a really fun event to go to. This was my second time. Just a tip for people wanting to visit and see the show: attend for the atmosphere but the best view is the official video clip. The harbour is large and only one or two spots give you the entire view, while many many others are either partial views or obstructed. So adjust your expectations if planning to visit :-) First time round, I watched from Dawes Point, arriving at 11:30pm (half hour before), and perfect views of the bridge and harbour (videos in my channel). In fact, I could feel the heat off the waterfall fireworks. Second time round, I watched from Mrs Macquaries Point, arriving at 10:30am (thirteen hours before), and the views obstructed by trees. Moments before countdown tourists pushed in front of me and blocked my view with their cameras. Parents put their children on their shoulders. I rushed to another spot not so crowded and started recording. I didn't get to see the countdown but recorded it by raising my camera above the crowds. Another important tip: the better views are from inclines. Like watching at the cinemas, an incline means someone in front of you isn't blocking your view. It was my friend's first time, and we separated when he rushed forward to get a better view. He wasn't happy when he came back and didn't want to talk about it. Just remember, if you attend, be happy with the atmosphere - anything more is a bonus.

Until you have actually visited the Sydney Harbour Bridge, you really cannot appreciate the scale of what you just watched. The bridge is 1,149 metres (3,770 feet) in length and 134 meters (440 feet) above sea level. The 2025 fireworks cost over $7 million using 9 tonnes (18,000 lb) of fireworks and over 1 million people were harbour side to watch the show. The theme of this year’s fireworks was Barangaroo; who was an indigenous elder of the Cammeraygal people at the time European colonisation. That projection of a person dancing on the bridge pylons was probably an artistic representation of Barangaroo.

A million plus people from all over the world, spread out all over the most beautiful harbour in the world and all feeling and spreading the love. Worth every cent! I certainly want to experience it again. I think guts up on a bobbing boat sipping Champagne and munching on Hors d'oeuvres would be the go.

Thank you for sharing your video. The Sydney Harbour fireworks is a huge event each year for Sydney. The fireworks are spread out over a massive 7 kilometre span around the Sydney Harbour foreshores and waterways. The fireworks are placed in different locations.. and are operated from barges off the water. The fireworks show runs around 12 to 15 minutes, and blast over 50,000 fireworks across the city.. at a cost of around $7 million. The Foti family have been responsible for the last 3 decades of the Sydney NYE fireworks. They are renowned for their phenomenal pyrotechnic displays.. and their fireworks legacy dates back to the 1700s. Every year the show introduces a different theme. Over a million people line around the foreshore.. as well as over a 1,000 boats in the harbour to watch the display. There are also boats lit up that cruise around the Sydney Harbour throughout the night.. taking part in the “parade of lights” on the harbour.. tour operated for people who want to watch the show from the water. Many travel from around the world to witness it. The most popular locations are The Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House precinct.. yet there are many other great vantage points around Sydney where the fireworks can be seen. There are 2 fireworks shows on the night. A show at 9pm.. specifically for families and their children.. then the major show at midnight. The main attraction of the night is the waterfall off the Bridge.❤Happy New Year. 🎉

Australian pyrotechnics are the best in the world. The buyers come from all around the world to a tiny country town for a night of fireworks like this in September to showcase their latest fireworks. I was impressed when they were able to fire off love hearts a few years back at the buyers showcase.

We have fireworks display’s celebrating new years in most of our capital city’s. World class pyrotechnic experts put on these shows, usually from multiple barges on the water and from the tops of our skyscrapers for fire safety. They usually go for about 30 minutes and are choreographed to music on local radio stations. We are very fortunate our government pays for these extravaganza’s. This year’s Sydney NYE Fireworks cost $6.3 Million AUD. Happy New Year!

The New Years fireworks are simply amazing. They go back as far as the 90s, I use to work on the bridge years ago and the highlight was the setting them up each New Year's Eve and hearing the crowds reaction whilst watching from the top of the bridge. The waterfall at the end always looks amazing.

I'm from Sydney and the fireworks and display goes all the way down the harbour - some are on the bridge, others are on barges in the harbour - almost to Parramatta who then have their own fireworks displays during the night... There are 2 sessions - a 9pm and then a midnight show - it costs about $6 million in fireworks

Can confirm, the waterfall of fire is actual fire. I have been next to the bridge when it went off and you can feel the heat from where I was standing. It's only possible because the bridge is, well, a bridge! It pretty much wouldn't be possible otherwise, partially because of the exclusion zone required and partially because our country seems to ignite at he strike of a match. That said, I heard Dubai does something similar. The fireworks are spectacular to see in person. Do recommend if you ever get the chance.

There are other NYE celebrations in other suburbs, put on by other councils/clubs, complete with fireworks. I could hear (and partly see) 2 fairly big ones from my place in the 'burbs. This is the Sydney City Council display. There were also fireworks at Darling Harbour at the same time this was going on.

@@Buddy89538 The interesting thing is, one of the reasons why JJC Bradfield recommended an arch design was because it would provide a place for celebratory/patriotic symbols to be displayed. The original idea was to build a cantilever bridge, which Bradfield did next with the Story Bridge in Brisbane.

That's why Sydney is always known as the "one to beat" when it comes to New Years displays. :) If you think that's amazing, search for the Brisbane Riverfire, Perth Skyworks as well as other Sydney New Years eve shows! This show was even a record for Australian standards with 16 firing positions (launch areas) and 9 tons of fireworks! BTW, there was a smaller 9pm show for families as well LOL. :) And, that effect off the bridge is known as a "waterfall" and is always a highlight of any display. It also occurs during Brisbane Rivfire among others. HOnestly though, In my opinion, the London NYE of 2020 - 2023 were world class with narrated story, drones and fireworks synchronized with soundtrack etc.

The Foti Family have been doing the Sydney Fireworks displays since 1998. The Foti family originally started doing fireworks displays in Messina, Italy in 1793. So they have doing these displays for over 230years. They are the world’s best at such displays. The fire curtain from the bridge is their signature move, and was first used during the Sydney Olympics.
