I’m a 64 yr old Aussie mum who has adored this race all of my life. My father owned a large Ford Dealership in Ferntree Gully Melbourne and I have always been a Ford girl!!! I don’t answer my phone and either does my aunt. It for me is the greatest race in the world!! Sad that it has changed so much without Aussie made Holdens and Ford cars.

I watched that race live& as a lifetime Holden Fan I was so pissed off ! So close & yet so Far. & I have watched the video many times having different Americans react to it & I still find it Riveting & can't stop until the end. I am glad overseas motor race fans appreciate Bathurst for the great race it always is.

Le-Mans 24 hours is not a separate race, but a part of WEC (World Endurance Championship). In WEC there are a lot of races on different tracks with different lengths. Time varies between 6 and 24 hours. Moreover, WEC is a multiclass racing series, that means, that cars of drastically different race-pace had to share the one track at the one time. That results in constant pressure, battles and, in general, good racing

As an SVG fan back then it hurt, they knew their starter motor was fkd so that pitstop was always going to be hard. That car he drove in this race was a midtier car, it wasn't that great, it just had SVG behind the wheel.
@Darryl_Frost22 күн бұрын
The thing about co-drivers is that for most races in the series there is only one driver, so it is the selection of the co-driver that makes the difference, and everyone is in the same position. So you have the professional driver, and the qualified, competent codriver that has reasonable pace, and keeps out of trouble.

First time I've seen the full version, thanks, I remember the last lap and Mostert's win. Interesting to note that Scotty Mac was fast even way back then, it's only a matter of time before he wins an INDYCAR championship, he's got talent. My prediction is that SVG will be better in the CUP series next season than he was in the XFINITY series the different car will suit his driving, he may also be going to a better team?

As an Australian, that’s just the way our humour works, the engines in those vehicles are equivalent to nascar engines 7500 rpm max speed approaching 300 klh

Hey guys 👋 The bloke who won it Chaz Mostert was the guy who took Ponga on the hot lap. There's also another good one where Chaz takes his mum out. 🇭🇲🤜🤛🇺🇲

The MovieWorld stunt driver referred to is Warren Luff , he's had a quite successful career as a co driver, most of them come in from other series through the year, very few to none do only the 500 and 1000.

Mozzy and the dude only led the race for 3 corners. That's why this was a race that probably will never be repeated.

G’day fellas. Just wanted you to know something about Bathurst you probably don’t know. Bathurst was seen as a Australia vs America race. Both front runners were Australian built American Fords and wholly Australian made, owned and designed cars called Holdens. Holden and Ford battled it out for many many decades with Aussie made, designed Holdens and Australian made, American owned Fords. Even though there were cars competing from manufacturers all over the world Ford and Holden were always front runners. In Australia you are either a Holden man or a Ford man. I believe true Aussies are Holden men because for almost 100 years they have produced sports cars, muscle cars, family sedans and wagons and many different types of SUV in Australia. They are truly great cars and their winning in Bathurst beating Ford time and again proves it. Unfortunately after many years of motorcar manufacturing here in Australia, they went bust in around 2019?. They stopped building/designing cars after so many years they broke the hearts of many Aussies.Weve built Fords,Holdens and Mitsubishi here but only Holden can be called 100% Australian. RIP Holden!

Re stopping the race to repair the track: right decision. The rest of the video tells you that. If you can't take Griffin's (turn 2) with full commitment then you lose all momentum up and across the mountain, which in turn becomes a slow train.

The track tearing up is a safety thing. All well and good the drivers/teams racing the race as it happens, so long as it is fair for all and as safe as it can be for all, including spectators.
