Indeed it was mostly the provinces North and South Holland and probably some Flevoland. If they had shown some Braband and Limburg there would be less water and more hills. Especialy Limburg. They live at the very bottom of the Mountains that become the Alps. So it's not mountain yet.😉

You said that a lot seemed unnatural. We actually do have untouched land that is not reclaimed. Like de Veluwe. It´s a beautiful environment with lots of wild animals. And even, yes, wolves are spotted there.
@data1.0782 жыл бұрын
Only the difference with our more natural land compared to from others countries is that it is completely by choice to remain natural. Edit: I was misinformed. The Veluwe is not a natural forest.
@Dusto92 жыл бұрын
The Veluwe isn't natural nor untouched, it's man made. Before human interruption that entire area was sand. Not even 1% of the original drifting sands still remain and the tiny bit that is still there is heavily managed by people. The forests and everything else were planted between 1880 and 1920 to stop the wind picking up the sand. Even the animals (moeflons) are non-native and can't exist there without human help and fences to keep out the native wolves. Ironically the moeflons were imported in an attempt to preserve the last tiny bit of actual nature (the sand) from overgrowth by letting the animals graze, so even the 1% of true nature there can't exist without human intervention.

There is untouched nature here in the Netherlands, or better said, bits that have been given back to nature. Since we’re small, it’s not the massive parks you have in the states, obviously, but it is surprisingly green here. Also, here in the south, we have lovely rolling hills. I live on top of one. 😁 Hills in South-Limburg kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpabqoGFprSindU Nature park The Veluwe kzbin.info/www/bejne/jn3TmGZtq56Widk

Not just bits that have been given back to nature though. They've created multiple pieces of artificial land (where there used to be water) and then declared that land to be a nature reserve, like the Oostvaardersplassen or Natuurgebied Neeltje Jans.

4:15 your reaction here merits my reaction. What you're looking at are the remnants of a star fortress surrounding a city. Not long ago a US politician prided his own country on never having had the need to build city walls. The ignorant fool doesn't know that by 1776 walls around cities were pretty much obsolete due to the advancements in artillery. Also: wallstreet was where the wall was of the Dutch early settlement what later became New York.

Yes our famous walruses and our walrus shelter on texel, lol Those are seals from the wadden sea so you may call them navy seals ; ) p.s. navy seals were invented by Admiral Michiel de Ruyter. One of the greatest admirals who ever lived. He gave the English their biggest defeat ever on English ground. He destroyed their entire fleet and brought home their flagship the Royal Charles in one piece with no casualties on our side. Pearl Harbor was nothing compared to that attack and the English don't teach it in their schools out of shame. The tour to Chatham it's called for anyone who want to know more of it.

We do have mountains in "Limburg" Southern province, they do speak flemish over there. Our province Flevoland is man made we also made those palm island in Dubai. Our country is under sea level some times it matter of time till the "dijken'" break and whole netherlands is flooted. Last summer we had lots of rain fall what made the water level in the Maas reach and new record. and even over flooted at some places. Parts of the dijk where broken at some places as well what did make realise our goverment to invest more in it if it happend again. The after math can be billions if the dijk can break next to big city's like Nijmegen. is these case we where lucky in germany is was way worse. But ye why is our country that flat ive same question. its maybe our ground/earth its different we also are not fimilair with natural disasters. Or wild animals we dont have them.
