So I just wanted to clarify because I don't think I worded my little review at the end right, that I wasn't intending to judge the show as a whole, I was judging the compilation. It's possible I didn't word it right though and if I didn't then that's my bad.

They are laughing at the muffin man because muffin is a slang word for vagina. He is asking them to sniff and taste the muffins.The Italian cook Gino is always messing up his english which sounds rude but they are all the best of friends. This will why we love This Morning because we alway end up in fits of laughter watching these pair. Plus I think the doctor is know longer with us unfortunately. You just don't have the same sense of humour as us and we find alot of american comedy not that funny either. That's what makes the world great is we are all different.

Innuendo and doubles entendres are a staple of British humour. The reason that they’re laughing is because it isn’t intended to be naughty. With the Italian Gino he doesn’t have the full grasp of the English language so comes out with the wrong expressions ( once said ‘up the fluff’ instead of ‘up the duff’ to Holly when she was pregnant) If you want to see an innuendo overload watch the ‘Carry On’ movies ( oooh Matron!!) Also some of those with Phil and Holly laughing on the sofa were from off air so the viewers didn’t see them until they showed the outtakes at the end of the month.

@taffe316 - To answer your questions about Phil and Holly, Phillip Scholfield has been presenting This Morning since about 2001 as a replacement for John Leslie, who was sacked after tabloid reports that he had been snorting cocaine. Fern then left in 2009 and was replaced by Holly Willoughby. Phil and Holly's amazing chemistry on screen is also a result of the fact that they don't just present This Morning. As a duo, they also present Dancing on Ice, a programme which basically follows the same format as Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One except on ice - celebrities dancing with professional partners with a weekly elimination until the winner is announced during the final. Phillip Scholfield and Holly Willoughby both began their TV careers as presenters on children's programmes (Phil in the 1980s and Holly as a teenager during the late-1990s!) And both on BBC One - although Holly later went on to CITV on ITV. These days, though, both Phil and Holly are basically the poster duo for ITV. As much as we love them in this country, they might as well rename ITV "The Phil and Holly Channel" because they present everything on it both as a duo and as individuals.
@vickytaylor91556 жыл бұрын
Holly and Phillip were both children’s tv presenters which is probably why they have that sense of humour.

With regards to the chefs, 'muffin man' is married to Fern Britton, the earlier presenter, so he would say things that he knew would make her laugh and then keep a straight face, and now he does it with Holly. Lasagne man, Gino, can speak pretty good English, but occasionally he will get it wrong, but get it wrong in a way that shouldn't be broadcast at 11 in the morning. Like 'shits' of pasta and add a slash of orange juice (a slash is slang for having a wee!). I think they are just so conscious of how close to the line he is sometimes. You also have to remember that these clips are from 20 yrs of the show. It doesn't happen every day.
@jinglejacs6 жыл бұрын
The 'muffin' man is Phil Vickery and he's married to Fern Britton who first presented This Morning with Philip Schofield , Gino always messes up his words and your'e right they have been friends for years. Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield have been presenting together since Fern left and on a daily basis This Morning is an interesting program that covers silly and serious topics. The reason we find it so funny is because they don't 'lose' it every day so when they do it's hilarious. You've watched a lot of clips from decades of coverage so it will seem over the top to you. This show has won so many awards for its light entertainment, it's designed to feel like they are just chilling in your living room so we've got to know and love them. It's the kind of show that can make you laugh and cry in equal measure and genuinely if I'm feeling fed up, I just watch a compilation and I'm smiling and laughing in seconds...It's quite hard to judge it just on the compilations though if you've not been watching them for years.

I think you need to consider that these clips are highlights of the funniest moments from the last however many years This Morning has been on the air, with that being said as someone who watches this show the laughing fits are a highlight if you manage to catch them. They also cover some very serious topics including their campaign about male suicide and their one about bullying which might be worth googling

I don't know how you were so stoic through this, I was a crying mess. I almost threw up I laughed so much.

it’s funny seeing an american react coz we brits have a really weird relationship with our presenters (and gino) like how you thought gino was actually annoyed like idk it’s just the way things are

Hi, thanks for doing this it was really refreshing to see someone not slag something off. We don't get tired of the rude jokes because 1.they are mixed in to a two hour magazine type programme so are not constant; 2. We really like Phil and Holly and Gino so when they laugh it makes us laugh; 3. They are meant to be being serious so trying not to laugh makes it even funnier.

Yes they don't laugh all the time on the show.. they tackle serious issues too on this morning.. & with real live subject that's going on at the time.. that's what makes it a very popular show over here in England.. you get the cooking/food/drink slots & other mix of subjects.. along with lots of laughs & funny bits.. which we all need to get us through our daily lives x

I think you need to find the clip of the morning after the awards where they never got home... the one with holly eating a cake with large serving spoon and gino cooking naked cos he lost a bet.

I think what Americans need to know before watching this is its just clips of a lot of programmes. Also if you don't know British slang or our euphemisms you may not get why it's so funny. 😕🤣 They are best friends and it shows. We love these two. 👍

I know it's risking the further wrath of the BBC, but you should give Never Mind The Buzzcocks a shot.

Holly and Phil are great friends and their families even holiday together in Portugal each year. Not sure if that will continue though with Phil coming out as gay last year and living a lie with his wife :-/

You're watching a super condensed collection of only the laughing. There's hours of filler in the real show. Most of it is quite dull. The smut is a welcome addition.

The innuendo jokes don't really happen all the time, that compilation is from different episodes over the years. If it did happen every day, it would get tiresome I would imagine.

Fern Britton is actually married in real life to that chef, (cupcake man) Phil Vickery. This morning is actually alright, don't watch it often but Holly and Phil have a really good chemistry which works well, I like that they fall about laughing.. Brits just have a good sense of humour

They’re best friends in real life and they’ve been presenting together for years...gotta love Holly & Phillip 😂 Thanks for posting this btw, it’s great to see what other people think of the weird shit that comes on our TV lol

Us Brits have a childlike humour at times. We got a saying 'If you don't laugh you'll cry'. We aren't as 'sensational' in our daytime television. That's not a criticism of America by any means it's just a difference in how we do our shows I guess Cool concept for the video dude :)

I think the issue is that you don't know the program or the presenters well enough. Those clips are many years apart. 20 years or so some of them, so it's not like it's all in one program. Some are edited badly so you don't get the full picture. Also, Phil (the muffin man) was married to Fern (one of the hosts), so he wasn't annoyed with them.
