Frikadellen, Buletten and Bratklopse are basically different names for the same thing: meat balls! In different regions of Germany, they're called differently. And omitting the "Pfannkuchen" in "Berliner" - it is "Berliner Pfannkuchen" - isn't that better. Just use the complete terms and you are fine: Berliner Pfannkuchen or Krapfen (this round pastry) and Eierpfannkuchen (~pancake).

And of course nobody says the full name. That's just wasting time for nothing. No, it isn't better. It's objectively worse.

@8:38 and @11:08 are the heads of a hydra so all are the same. Which refers to different regional "dialects" have different names for always the same thing (and for whatever reason the meme author struggles a bit with the east german versions). For "Pfannkuchen" you got a bit confused as the version was naming a "Krapfen" or "Berliner" (like JFK famously once said i am a Berliner) , but as you looked it up you got the second reference/meaning of "Pfannkuchen", which is something like a thicker version of the french crepe. Another name of it is Eierkuchen as using eggs is typical. There are versions without eggs and people started to therefor started to use the term "Pfannkuchen" for it, ignoring that the same term was used in other regions for "Krapfen" and making the confusion perfect.

The special lights for byciclers usually turns green before the ones for cars. That way the byciclers can go and not have their "Vorfahrt" stolen by cars (which tends to happen) For example the bike lane is usually on the right side next to the road. If a car wants to turn right there is the possability that they might run over a bike or force them to brake. By having their lights go green first, the byciclers can cross the streets more safely. However infrastructure for bikers varies a lot in different parts of germany and even in berlin.

Many dishes have dozens of different regional names. Meat balls and donuts are the most common examples. Some sound that foreign to somebody they don't understand what is meant. Like simple bread rolls without special ingredients are called Brötchen, Semmel, Schrippe, Weck, Weggla, Rundstück, Krosse, Laabla - the most common names, with regional variations and specialties there are over 1,000 names. Pfannkuchen or Pfannekuchen is the German word for pancake. Pfanne is a pan and Kuchen is cake. Eierkuchen (egg cakes) is short for Eierpfannkuchen (egg pancakes). In Austria they are called Palatschinken. Most Germans don't understand it and believe that it would be something else because of the part schinken (ham). The same goes for meat balls. Normal people call it Frikadelle, Berliners call it Bulette (from French) and Bavarians call it Fleischpflanzerl (meat flower). The origin of the Hamburger is Hamburg: Putting a meat ball in a bread roll (Rundstück). Today you can get "Rundstück warm" a bread roll with meat ball and piping hot gravy. But I don't know how old this really is - theories say before 1869 where it was found on several menus. But I believe that the modern hamburger originates on other meatball sandwiches but the name is set that way.

Pfannkuchen is a Berliner/krapfen too
@44WarmocK77 Жыл бұрын
3:46 It's simply a play with words. First you see the word combination which tells you that it should be just enough to live, while the actual text speaks about properly taxing the rich. It's comparabale to another joke: a woman meets a handsome guy in a bar, they decide to go upstairs to "have some fun", and as he undresses she notices that his king cobra has the word "Wendy!" tattooed on it. She's puzzled and asks if that's the name of his GF, but he just laughs and replies:"Nah sweetie, just give me a sec and you see the full text. It says:"Welcome to Jamaica! And have a nice day!" ^^"

The Pfannkuchen meme means that Krapfen and Berliner is basically the same. But some people call it Pfannkuchen instead although Pfannkuchen already is pancake in german.
@SiqueScarface Жыл бұрын
The apprenticeship meme is based on a TV commercial for sausages, which claims, that the advertised sausages combine the best of all German sausages. In the meme, the apprentice asks about apprenticeship, which combines the worst of all German employment types. In a flat building, it's the obligation of the tenants to keep common rooms like the stairwell clean. Usually, you have to clean the stairwell from the lower floor up to your floor. The tenant in the meme is angry because he suspects you to be not satisfied with the way he handles his obligations, so he obviously went to the building administration, which then posted a sign effectively forbidding you to ever clean a part of the stairwell you aren't supposed to.

Some people are annoyed of strikes. A lot of people don’t own a car and use public transportation to travel around the town, in the last years there were some strikes which affected the public transportation so people had to use their bike, walk or use something else, sometimes multiple days.
@AntiProElite Жыл бұрын
Yeah thats the plan, when you do a strike. Because it causes pressure

@@AntiProElite Unfortunately, the impact mostly hits ordinary people and the organization behind the public transport has no real harm in my opinion, but I'm unsure about the legal situation.

About the memes with the 3 dragons: It's about the language differences within Germany, that come up for many reasons. Usually you have 3 words which are basically 3 names for the same thing: One word in the northern half of Germany and another word for the southern half (though it can vary a lot) and than you always have a special snowflake, which is usually a rather small area where they insist on calling it by the name of something entirely differen. At 11:55 you have the infamous Karpfen/Berliner/Pfannkuchen debate. The talk is about the 'Berliner Pfannkuchen' (Pancake berlin style). It is basically a round pancake that is fried in a huge pot in ridiculous amounts of oil, and then some raspberry jam is pumped into it and covered in powdered sugar. In Bavaria they call it Karpfen for whatever reason (as well as in some parts of Baden-Württemberg, being neighbors and stuff but usually Bavaria always tries to be different). Pretty much the rest of the country calls it 'Berliner' as a short version of 'Berlin Pancake'. Except for Berlin. They call it a pancake. And they call an actuall pancake an egg cake. And because they are Berlin, they insist it's the correct way. Btw, there are countless other regional names for it like Krebbel. It's a very popular dessert, especially during silvester and carneval.

A funny thing of the German language is, that you can combine words to a word that makes (theoretically) sins. You can create words like "Rindfleischetikettierungsroboterüberwachungskamerafarbengesetz". (A law for colors of surveillance cameras that supervise robots, wich label beef)

Frikadellen, Buletten, Bratklopse und Gewiechtesklößeln are all the same like Pfannkuchen, Krapfen and Berliners are. It`s just a "war" betwen German Regions about what is the right designation. Also we fight about Nutella with or without butter on the bread. Since we don`t started any war again, we have nothing better to do. ;)

The memes about food for example Frikadellen, Buletten, Bratklopse are about the fact that peoplecall the same thing different. Krapfen, Berliner are the same but most people would call a Pfannkuchen what google showed you. That's why its funny because some people call krapfen pfannkuchen.

Oh, the sword one is difficult for a translator. The word "reichen" as a verb means "Being enough" but the word "(die) Reichen" as a noun means "(the) Rich" so the full sentence of the sword is "Shouldn't rich people have a large sum of their money taken away?" i.e. "Tax the rich the same a mount you tax the poor"
