AMERICAN Reacts to Voice of Baceprot - God, Allow Me (Please) To Play Music

The beginning of the creation of this song was triggered by the restlessness of the three VoB personnel regarding the negative stigma they received from hard-line conservative elements of society, who forbade them to play metal music. Together with their teacher at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic Junior High School), Abah Erza Satia, they started working on this song. The song '𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘔𝘦 (𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦) 𝘛𝘰 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤' was motivated by the negative stigma and intolerance experienced by these three hijabi young women. In fact, they also experience it in their home area, Singajaya Village, Garut, West Java. This song IS based on their experience of being told by the more extreme elements in their country to not play music, much less metal music. Then they cover Rage Against the Machine "Killing in the Name" and they shout "Fuck you. I won't do what you tell me." It's awesome.

As a fellow "stupid American", I have a lot of respect for these ladies! I was thinking since you were traveling around Asia, you might try "Rolling Quartz". They're sort of Korea's "Band Maid", but they have their own unique style. One of my favorites of theirs is "Azalea".

I found them through watching Babymetal videos. Not only is their original music great but so are their covers,you should check out their cover of RATM's Killing In the Name Of. BTW the translation for Baceprot is "the noisy"

I am thoroughly impressed with the instrumentals in this song, especially in the section that was bass heavy, it was almost like a mini bass solo and when it had that jazz/reggae feel going. However, I wasn't thrilled with the lyrics or the sound of her singing voice, which is pretty monotoned. I do wish them the best because they do have a good sound, just not my cup of tea.

Their first debut song School Revolution was not well accepted by most of the community. I thought that it became their first flop song, even though people interested in them but its only for a while and it died down until last 2 years when then finally have their first Europe tour. Even though they are from a background and culture that one wouldn't expect hard rock to come from, they are the real deal! They come from a tiny Javanese village called Garut and were introduced to heavy metal and international rock music through a teacher. They endured a lot of resistance to their choices, some quite scary, but they endured and eventually got permission from a religious leader they consulted. This song is based on that. The actually cover a number of different other bands, but have some fantastic originals, like this one. Also, they have played at Wacken this year, the biggest metal festival in the world I believe, so they are starting to get recognized. I'll just finish by saying, keep an eye on that bass player (Widi is her name) - she's a killer. Look out for their concert videos, particularly those from their European tour last year.
