I've reacted to several videos explaining all of the duties and perks of being a part of UK royalty, but I certainly have never reacted to why Queen Elizabeth could be a certified badass! I am very excited to react and learn about this particular topic from an American's point of view, and genuinely wonder if the very unassuming queen could actually be the opposite of what her American image has lead me to believe. There's a famous story of a humanitarian and war surgeon, David Knott, who was invited to lunch with the Queen after returning from Syria. He was suffering from PTSD, and at one moment, became overcome with emotion. Sensing this, the Queen touched his hand, and instead of asking him anymore questions, opened a tin of dog biscuits so he could feed her corgis and talk about that instead. She even said "There, that's much better than talking, isn't it." Legend.

To add to that indeed legendary anecdote, here is one I heard from several years back. It shows quite a different aspect of the late Queen's character to the very touching one you outline but I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed yours... Some thirty odd years ago, The Queen attended a civic lunch at the Town Hall in Rochdale. When it came time for the Mayor to announce that HM would be saying a few words to the assembly, he turned to the Queen to ask how he should address her. She turned and replied thus:- "The first time it's Your Majesty and thereafter it's Ma'am". With this newly acquired protocolary knowledge, the Mayor was about to proceed when the Queen continued - "but I shouldn't worry about it, you've been calling me 'luv' right through lunch...." As you said....Legend!!

I love what she said when she met Putin. That´s badass and witty and sharp. Putin made her wait for about 15 min and when he finally arrived a dog that was present (someone else´s) started barking. So the owner of the dog started apologizing to her and she remarked something like "dogs have some interesting instincts, don´t they?".

Her mother lived to be 101. The James Bond bit is good but for the Platinum Jubilee she topped that by having tea with Paddington Bear. Look it up. As a mechanic, she was able to diagnose problems with her vehicles as she was driving them. Once she called for assistance when she at a distant point on an estate telling the man what parts to bring. When he was surprised that she was correct she reminded him of her wartime service. There are many more stories about our glorious Queen.

Even with that evidence you don't know what she "really" thought of McGuiness. Her Government recognises his status as Sinn Fein Leader and i think Leader of Her Majesties Loyal Opposition. Exactly what I thought too, it wasnt irony it was sarcasm but with a rictus smile, it was strongly rumoured that McGuiness was one of the masterminds and over bosses behind the cowardly execution of her favourite second cousin and confidente Lord Mountbattan of Burma, by hiding a cowardly remotely detonated IED in his yacht moored at his favourite holiday retreat in Mullaghmore killing him and half his family and a young local boy just after it put to sea on a lobster netting trip, as well as war hero, politician and first person to succesfully escape from Colditz Airey Neave M.P, killed by a car bomb leaving parliament I certainly wouldnt be in the slightest bit surprised to learn that her Majesty absolutely despised the little shit...and hence the barbed reply........"still alive" to his "how are you" greeting and I dont think she was referring to her advancing years !

They cut her going in and and each had to be pulled out, and no doubt some stitching up had to be done. She recovered , but was obviously very scarred. Her Majesty took the King of Saudi Arabia for tour of her Balmoral Estate. He was one of the first in the car, sitting waiting for the Queen and chauffeur, Her Majesty turned up and got into the driving seat.( The women in Saudi Arabia are forbidden drive cars). I believe he asked her to slow down at one point. The women in Saudi Arabia are now allowed to drive. She has done a lot, in a quiet way that most of us don't realise.

The Queen's mother-in-law (Prince Phillip's mother), Princess Alice, was pretty bad ass too. While she was married to Prince Andrew of Greece, she served as a nurse in the Balkan War before WWI. After the Greek royal family were kicked out if Greece and fled to France, she helped to run a charity shop for Greek refugees near Paris. Later on, she was committed to a mental institution for years. Prince Phillip did not see his mother from the time he was about 7 until he was about 18. During WWII, Princess Alice went back to Greece and hid a Jewish family in her house and saved their lives. She was very deaf and when the Germans demanded to search the house, she pretended she couldn't understand what they were saying. During fighting in Athens, she walked the streets giving food to children. After the war, she founded a religious order, became a nun and dedicated herself to helping the poor in Greece. You can see her in photos of the Queen's coronation, walking out of the abbey dressed in nun's robes. When there was another revolution in Greece, she was persuaded to go back to England and live in Buckingham Palace. After she died, the Israeli government agreed to her wish to be buried on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem and recognised her as one of the "righteous among nations".

She has a wicked sense of humour. Once when out on the estate in Balmoral with just a single royal police guard they came across an American couple walking the grounds. She was wearing a plain coat and headscarf so the couple didn't recognise her. They stopped and during the conversation one American turned and said 'have you ever met the Queen, i believe she has a house near here. Quick as a flash she pointed to her police guard and said 'No I haven't but he has'.

As someone already said here, she wasn't only "helping out", driving an ambulance and doing what she did wasn't at all without danger. That part of England was constantly bombed, and even though it was encouraged that the Royal Family should move out from harm's way, they decided to stay amongst their people. The blitz was tough, you should really watch a reaction video about it. She has also done so much badass things more that I would hope would have been on this list. She has handled political, national and international crisis, she has handled leaders and dictators, she is really fierce, smart and a master of diplomacy. They're are sup many REAL badass stories I wish was on this list instead! I'm Swedish, we have our own Queen but Queen Elizabeth II will always be THE Queen for me. She's a true inspiration!

Fun fact. Years ago the Queen visited the set of Game of Thrones. The crew asked if they could get a photo of her sitting on the Iron Throne but she refused. There is a law, saying that the British Monarch can't sit on any other Throne besides the Brittish one, real or fictional.

I can assure you corgis are vicious dogs when in a bad mood. My mother, who was a WAAF nurse, met the Princess Elizabeth when she was an ambulance driver. From what my mother said, she was not getting special treatment. The Princess was being treated the same as any of the other ambulance drivers. A friend used to work on the Queen's estate at Balmoral and she states that the Queen in an excellent shot with a variety of guns.

Just came across this today… Our (late) Queen literally died doing her duty (8th September 2022) I’m not a royalist myself BUT I did admire Queen Elizabeth. At the age of 96 she put MANY of us (younger generations) to shame. There will be no other like her. I hope she’s at peace with her beloved husband ♥️

I live just over an hour from Balmoral. In the summer the Queen would vacation there. Police security from London and England areas would travel up. The military were posted at the Barracks at this small town called Ballater. I would visit there during that time. A lot of army geeps patrolling the streets at night while the Soldiers and Police hit the pubs. I saw one soldier getting reprimanded for being too drunk. I spoke to the police and soldiers they were mostly golfing. The Queen barely left the grounds except for Sunday Service.

Not only does The Queen’s not need a driving licence, her car does not carry a registration number (“license plate”) either. All public roads are known in the UK as “The Queen’s Highway”. As the highway is (nominally) hers, why would she need a number plate or a licence to drive on them? As all legislation and all judicial procedures are done in her name, she couldn’t be prosecuted for any offence either. In the U.S. it might be the State versus John Doe”; in the England it is Regina (Latin for Queen) versus… So, if the Queen were to be prosecuted for anything, it would be “The Queen versus The Queen”. A true win/win situation!

Not quite - criminal prosecutions in the UK are by the institution of the Crown, rather than by the individual of the Queen (or, now, the King). The distinction is slight but significant; the monarch embodies the crown, but they are legally distinct. So *if* there were a prosecution to be brought against the Queen - essentially impossible, as of course Charles I would argue, but *if* - it would be the Crown v Elizabeth Windsor. In any real sense, of course, sovereign immunity would take effect.

There is a really good story missing on that list. During a parade in the seventies I believe, she was riding "en amazone" on her horse and somebody from the crowd shot at her with blank ammunition. She stayed so cool, her horse barely skipped a beat. The police was on the guy in seconds but at that moment she could not have known it was blank ammunition. And the first thing she did minutes after the incident was to stroke her horse to reassure him. For me, that sums up the queen. Courageous, kind and compassionate above all. I read you video on the 19 of september 2022. It made me laugh on a very sad day. The queen WAS a badass. Loved her so much.

My claim to fame is that the Queen nearly ran me over on the long walk in Windsor! This was 8 years ago. She was tiny in her range rover driving along with a big burly security bod beside her. The long walk is closed to traffic apart from vehicles for the Queen. There I was with family walking along the road minding my business when I was suddenly became aware of a car...and there she was the Queen driving slowly behind me. I stepped aside before I ended up in the tower!!

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace was bombed and her father and the family refused to leave the UK in spite of continuous NAZI bombing. NOBODY could be completely protected from the bombing regardless of their status except if they also fled like Dutch royalty who had to come to Canada. Many years ago, while driving during a bad winter storm, she and her bodyguard got caught in a deep snow drift and couldn't get out. I'm a young, fairly liberal man who isn't even religious but God save the Queen. Just to clear up the passport/licence thing, in the UK those things are issued by the queen so it is essentially her saying (through her agents) that the law enforcement person needs to let her subject through (or let them drive) at the border. i’d say the same really, i’m centre left also, and can see some of the issues with monarchy, yet she has this humility and humane character that makes her special and i think the type of constitutional monarchy that has developed and how she has been dignified and given some inspiring speeches - thinking during Covid how she seemed to be one of the few world leaders that gave a morale boosting and on point speech - that i feel a lot of affection and admiration for her. Very elderly people can be very naughty and mischievous, I expect the Queen is behind the scenes when she's talking to family and friends. My Aunt was 93 when she died 2 years ago, I spent a lot of time on the phone to her as she lived on her own although she did have good neighbours who looked out for her, doing her shopping etc. I'd be having a conversation with her and she'd come out with something very naughty and I'd say "K....." you can't say that (she was usually having a go at politicians and similar people" and she'd say "why not, I've just said it" and we'd both end up laughing for about 10 minutes. There is great story of one time when she was taking a salute on horseback. The officer sat on horseback next to her. His horse took an almighty noisy dump that went on for about two minutes. KZbin usually recommends big channels and videos with loads of views. I watched one Tyler Rumple video thinking that was the case, scrolled down and saw 20k views and 3k subs. Been watching these while doing other jobs around the house for the last week now. Really enjoying seeing an average American's reactions to my country's culture and saying "noooo, that's not right" or "yeah, that's pretty cool we have that" haha Keep them coming!

The Queen became a truck mechanic and drove military and ambulance vehicles towards the end of WWII at the age of 18. Also not known widely is that members of the Royal Family have regular training with elite military people who teach them skills for any kidnap attempts, assaults or kidnappings etc.

I don't think she does much of it any longer, but she used to hunt deer, especially when staying in Scotland. She also ate, everything she killed as she does not like waste.

Corgis are not lapdogs but specifically bred as cattle droving dogs snapping at the heels of cattle to keep them moving. They can as easily have your own ankles beieve me....
