When you're in the desert like that, the best thing to wear is a tank top and then a shirt over that with long sleeves. The tank top absorb the sweat and the shirt over it keeps you from being sunburned. You don't have to button up the shirt over the tank top, you just want to cover up the back your neck and your arms.

I love this! Arches National Park was one of my favorite stops on my last road trip. The hike is so worth it, you're right!

Welcome to my playground. I live up in Salt Lake so this drive is an easy close one. I know this was 6 years ago, but you can never get tired of these amazing Red Rocks!! It looks like you all had a fun time!!

I just looked to the right edge of my computer screen, where I noticed a little 'blurb' (commercial) about your video "Australians trying Canadian Candy", and realized I misunderstood what you said in this video, coming to the conclusion that you're Kiwis. I was also in Australia--for most of 10/87--and was told by people I met on and off the Greyhound of Australia that I'd seen more of the country than they had. I arrived in Perth from Singapore, then flew the next day cross country to Sydney, jumped on the bus and went up the coast through Brisbane to Cairns, where I also went on the Great Barrier Reef, snorkeling off a platform moored about 30 miles/48k offshore. Then, I went out through Mt. Isa, up to Darwin, down The Track through Katherine (K Gorge), to Alice Springs, where I went on a bus tour out to a number of gorges, on the way to Ayers Rock and The Olgas, then down to Coober Pedy, where I stayed in an underground youth hostel. Then, I flew into Adelaide, where I got back on the bus, and traveled to Melbourne. There, I flew down to Tasmania, where I drove a rental car for a day or so, flew back to Melbourne, then back to Sydney by way of Canberra. What an amazing country you come from.

You are heading for an absolutely spectacular part of the country, as you already know, since you were there almost 4 years ago. : )) A way to expand on saying you're in the middle of nowhere is that they have to pipe in daylight. Since soft drinks typically have way too much sugar in them, it's not at all a good way to stay hydrated on a hot day like you're experiencing here. Sadly, at about 8:45, it sounds as if you didn't see much more of Arches than Delicate Arch. One of them farther back in the park is Double Arch, which appeared in one of the Indiana Jones movies. Some Americans like to call the tan line a "farmer's tan".

Very weird seeing one of their old videos - only 14 comments (now 15!). That would never happen now! :)

Wow, you were in MY neck of the woods!! Too bad I didn't "know" you back then or I would have totally met up with you somewhere for coffee!! Thank you, KZbin, for insisting that I see this video!
