I have a robins nest in the hibiscus tree in my deck- momma Bird laid a total of 4 eggs- the last one just hatched the other day. I can look into the nest and see them with their mouths open. I feel honored they chose my tree and my kids are learning from this experience too!!!

Aw I loved watching this, it’s already cold and snow where I am so it’s a nice reminder of summer. I have robins that nest in my vines for the past 6 years. I don’t know if they’re the same ones or the babies of some of the previous ones but it’s awesome to have them come back to the same spot every year. This year the ones nesting there raised 2 sets of chicks and I think all 6 of them lived. Its weird that they never use the same nest twice, they always build a fresh one for each batch.

This is a beautiful video...thank you for taking the time to record this. I loved watching it. I'm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and have lived in this flat for three years this month. Not long ago, for the first time since living here, we discovered that a robin had built a nest right outside our hallway window. She finished laying her eggs 12 days ago and the first egg hatched today--I had the good fortune of catching the mother feeding her first hatched baby about an hour ago! I'm a bit worried because we are only two blocks from a very large, wooded city park; lots of hawks, raccoons, and opossum all around us. Hoping all goes well for the robins, but also preparing for the idea that sometimes nature can be sad for us humans.

How did the season go last year for your robin nest? Humans reflect safety for many song birds- we deter predators often. I hope they made it!!! @ggeemmiinnii

we had a nest with 3 eggs. saw them perched up on the edge of the nest one Sunday as we were heading out. came back later and they were gone. we were sad to miss them flying off for the first time but our neighbors had a nest with 4 birds that we just saw leave the nest tonight. we sat and waited for an hour before the first one flew off. it was amazing

They lay 1 egg a day and they normally have more than 1 baby. I read the mom stops laying eggs when she feels like the nest is full. We have a nest of 4 eggs under the neighbor’s deck. Really wanna install a camera there but I’m scared to ask the neighbor’s permission (she doesn’t like birds and I’m scared she might wanna remove the nest if I told her about it 😢)

I live in York County, Pennsylvania. The Robins never came in this year. Used to be in the spring they would fly in together and you would see hundreds in one place. Never happened this year. In the fall they group together to fly south, never happened this year. About 6 years ago I found one in the back yard that was sick and blind with mucus around it's eyes. Something is going on and no one is saying anything about it. Where are the Robins?

I've got a nest on the front porch, mom has been there pretty frequently the last couple weeks. I'm set up a camera in front of the nest to watch. 3 eggs. Now she hasn't been coming to the nest a night. Idk what's going on. Idk if there's too much human activity around, but she just doesn't come at night, only during the day. What are the odds that the eggs are still viable and still will hatch? I try to stay away as much as I can but you have to walk by it coming and going. Any help and advice is appreciated. I hope to see the babies hatch and eventually fly off but I'm worried.

Merci d'avance.
@MarcAndreBlais Жыл бұрын

Thrushes just eat the baby's poop no matter how old it is. Normally most passerine birds will just eat it for the first 6-7 days while the baby's digestive system isn't developed enough yet, so there's still food leftover after they eat it. Then, after the first week or so, their digestive system starts working properly and, so after one week old, the poop is all waste so the parents will mostly just take it and carry it away from the nest to keep it clean and prevent predators from smelling it. However, thrushes of all kinds don't care even if the chicks are 2 weeks old and fully grown, they'll still eat it for some reason. Makes their family name, Turdus, make a bit of sense lol.
