Thank you for reacting to Stray Kids. You have the feeling that you have not heard this type of music in Kpop because Stray Kids are self produced, and they have perfected a genre that is unique to them. The media called it “mala taste” for the combination of different “flavors” they put in each song. They are very talented artists, they have produced 99% of their discography (to my knowledge it’s over 180 songs), they can all dance, rap, sing, and are great performers. Lots of content. Looking forward to more Stray Kids’s reactions.

yes im pretty sure they’ve only been given tracks for 1 or 2 songs in their entire discography and even then they still created the lyrics and came up with toplines ect!

i always have the utmost respect for any artist/group that self produces AND writes their own music. it’s such a difficult task but imo the most rewarding and from y’all saying they’ve created their own lane i think they’re already reaping that reward!

In case you want to learn more about Stray Kids......... 3Racha - Stray Kids' main writing and production unit, consisting of Bang Chan (the leader of Stray Kids), Changbin and Han They formed as a rap group before Stray Kids formed, and wrote and produced their own music. When the final members for Stray Kids were chosen, 3Racha was absorbed into the group. They write and produce the vast majority of the music for Stray Kids. But all 8 members have written music for the group, and a few of the members (besides 3Racha) are now also producing some of the songs. ---------------------------------- Stray Kids debuted in 2018. They started out with 9 members (so in their early videos, you'll see 9 people performing) but Woojin left in Oct 2019 and Stray Kids have been an 8-member group ever since. ---------------------------------- Bang Chan, Changbin and Han still perform as 3Racha for certain awards shows and events, separately from Stray Kids. They also have several of their own songs / videos posted on KZbin. The 3Racha members are highly prolific writers and producers and have started winning awards as such. ---------------------------------- DanceRacha - Stray Kids' main dance unit, consisting of Hyunjin, Felix, and Lee Know ---------------------------------- VocalRacha - their main vocal unit, consisting of Seungmin and I.N ---------------------------------- Main rappers - Changbin, Han, Hyunjin and Felix (the deep-voiced guy) - but unlike many K-pop groups, all 8 members can and have rapped, depending on the song. ---------------------------------- Vocalists......I listed their main vocal unit above, but again.....all 8 members have great singing voices and they switch around on lead vocals, depending on the song ---------------------------------- Dancers......main ones listed above, but all 8 members can dance very well ---------------------------------- Languages: Bang Chan (the leader of the group) and Felix (deep-voiced guy) are both Australian, so English is their first language. The other 6 members speak English with varying degrees of fluency. All 8 members are fluent in both Korean and Japanese. They also sing beautiful ballads, have performed a number of songs for K-drama soundtracks, and have written / performed some songs for an anime called Tower of God. Venom is about recognizing the danger in your attraction for someone and surrendering yourself to it. Not minding if the potion / the venom (aka love and desire) is taking your body over......feeling trapped at first, but then eventually realizing your willingness to give yourself to it completely.

Stray Kids! Ok, so I believe that the premise of this song is this: in our lives, we often embrace a situation (love, celebrity/idol life, work obsession) even though we are aware that it comes with the potential for very negative outcomes (heartbreak, haters/ hypercriticism, disappointment w/unrealized goals). In the m/v we see the spiderweb motif everywhere, the spider venom poisons our will/ability to escape. But (at the end) if the goal is worth it, we choose to persevere in this trap of our own making. OH, in case you don't know, they are the writers, composers, and producers of 99% of their discography! They really do mean what they say, and I believe that is the special sauce that makes it so easy to connect with them & their music.

So every song has it's distinct sound. 8 members with their own distinct voices blended perfectly. Their video with most views is God's Menu. Latest videos LaLaLaLa, Megaverse. Favorites...Easy, Domino, Thunderous, Cheese.

This is about a toxic relationship and how even though it is bad for you, you don't want to leave. It is open to interpretation. A Relationship, a lifestyle. For me Stray Kids are my venom. I got trapped on purpose. Loving them so much isn't exactly kind to my bank balance, but that's ok, I'm not going anywhere, I'm here to STAY

I think it can also be possibly about the toxic relationship with the industry and being idols rather than just a personal romatic relationship that is toxic. The video images hint at that. Banger of a song whatever the meaning.

Stray Kids are incredible and are known to have their own genre of music because of how dynamic and unique their range of sound is. Their discography ranges from rock to pop to hip hop to beautiful ballads and more, all while putting their own twist to the each genres sound. They also write, compose, and produce 99.8% of their music. They all sing, dance, and rap, and almost all of them play at least one instrument. They also are iconic for the duality of their personalities. They can go from being intense, macho, and slick to playful, hilarious, and chaotic. Definitely give off family vibes -so wholesome! ☺️ Anyway, other songs to check out from them are GODS MENU, BACK DOOR (chronologically comes after GODS MENU), FREEZE, THOUNDEROUS, TOPLINE, and S-CLASS (title track the just won a VMA in 2023) I would also strongly recommend breaking down the lyrics because it not only gives context to the music video, but also because Stray Kids are phenomenal lyricists! Their songs always have layers of meaning that talk about deep, relatable topics such as mental health, finding ones self, self acceptance, overcoming life’s challenges, forging your own path, and not going along with social norms just because it’s what’s everyone is doing. They also have such a unique play on words I personally haven’t seen anywhere else. You can enjoy their music as a casual listener because, let’s admit it, the music alone is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 But there is so much depth to their music that some people miss. It’s all up to you how deep you want to dive to break it all down. Either way, I hope you enjoy this incredible journey. I promise it’s one you won’t regret!

Stumbled accross these guys on yt almost a year ago in Feb and fell down a rabbit hole- now they're all I listen to! Lol They've done over 40 genres and a discography of ~180 songs! Hardworking and ever-evolving, Skz (short for Stray Kids) are amazing!! You can't go wrong with whatever song you pick next. Most start with God's Menu, Thunderous, Maniac, Back Door, and Miroh. Oh and don't worrry about pausing, Stay (fandom name) don't mind if its for the sake of enjoying the boys. Looking forward to the next reaction!

You will get something new every time you react To a Stray Kids M/V’s, because they self-produce 😬 - Their rapline 3Racha writes most of their songs and have become official members of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA). I would recommend starting “Gods Menu”, S-Class and La la la la. Good B-sides is Topline and Megaverse 👊 8-member boy group. Leader Bang Chan (Aussie) hand-picked the members himself. Deep Voice Felix is also Australian. They are all multi-talented and they are all good at rapping, Singing, and Dancing 👊

@@tapioooca5182 Hi, just a little clarification, while 3racha is not the "rapline" - 3Racha is/was a Rap group before Stray Kids was a gleam in Chan's eye. Chan makes himself into whatever is needed for the performance as a vocalist or a rapper. Just because he sings doesn't mean he's not a rapper, just ASK Han or Changbin. Them merging 3Racha as a official subunit (actually the only one) into SKZ was brilliant. 🖖🏼🕊

But introducing 3racha, therefore chan, as the rappers cause ppl to think chan isn't a vocalist but a rapper and his vocalist position often gets overlooked due to this. so my only intention with this reminder is making sure everyone recognizes his vocalist position and doesn't discredit him, not counting his name while introducing the vocal line etc.

This is actually a b-side track and its THAT good. Next you should check out S-class, Maniac, Lalalala (this is a recent one), Thunderous, Case 143, God’s menu, Megaverse (this is also a b-side track but its such a bop), 3Racha and Taste (checkout the lyric videos for these).

They debuted in 2018 They are ages 22 - 26 They are unique for several reasons... First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company. Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write. Third, they have written and produced about 99% of their music. Numbers of songs each member has copyrighted according to Korean Music Association numbers so far... KOMCA numbers... Bang Chan 180 (#3 in KPop) Changbin 152 (#11) Han 148 (#12) Hyunjin 22 Felix 21 Seungmin 19 I.N 19 Lee Know 17 While they can all do everything they do have 3 different subunits... 3Racha... Bang Chan, Chang Bin and Han which are the main producers. They are always credited as 3Racha 3Racha just won their first award for their production and writing work. Best Creator from Asian Artists Awards. Danceracha... Lee Know (he is a former backup dancer for BTS and in charge of leading dance practices), Felix and Hyunjin Vocalracha... Seungmin and I.N While the songs are hype they always have significant meaning to them. Their lyricism is always insane. Since they are so experimental their sound has its own genre and they have a very diverse discography. Example... Gods Menu, Back Door and Case 143 all completely different sounds.

Ooh interesting song choice for a first listen, this is from my fave album from them! Lots of interesting instrumentals and beats in Venom which is cool, especially as the majority of their work is produced by 3 of the members 👌 God's menu & Back door are great too! Looks like others have already answered your q's well on the story behind it. You should react to ATEEZ too! They have some pretty unique and insanely catchy instrumentals in their tracks too, especially Guerilla, Halazia & Bouncy 🔥 They tend to lean more into vocals than rap, but their raps are insane quality too (2 members just dropped an MV for a fully hip hop track called MATZ!). Stray Kids are their own genre. They do everything differently from other kpop groups. They write and produce all their music. Check out LALALALA and Megaverse from their new album Rock Star, then start going back to their huge discography. Freeze, Easy, God's Menu, Thunderous, Back Door, Cheese, Miroh, Victory Song, so many songs, different sounds. Enjoy! They have not made a bad song.

You're on the right track with thinly there's a story! There is one but the story starts with their first music video and continues through all of the music videos they have. It's a very complicated story to follow but there are people who post explanations of the story line. Even I myself, a big fan of StrayKids, only know a jist of the story. But you were definitely onto something with what you said. You should check out more StrayKids songs, their music is really good and unique.

And yes, Straykids are kpop but definitely the feel different, mostly cause as people mentioned already they are self produced, and the ones who produce the most are really good and passionate. They aren't trying to sell you big hits, they are just doing what they love , proof is that every album, every song touches different styles, structures and they aren't always made to please the mass, that kinda clashes with everything Kpop does.

6:43 when you mentioned that it seems like it's a part of a story there's actually something called skzverse, it's confusing and there are more theories than confirmed things, but from their first mv to the last one there's a huge story going on wich conncets with almost every mv (or title tracks mvs) it's something related to clones and parallel universes, I'd explain it but it's hard to do since there's a lot of confusing things so it would be hard for me to try to explain it also, the boys released a short film called skzflix not so long ago, and it made us think of so much more theories, if you want to check it out it would be nice! though it'll maybe be hard to understand, i think there's also a videos speaking about theories and trying to explain. but yeah, that's all, there's actually a lot of lore hidden on their mvs. sorry if my english was kinda bad! spanish is my first language :3
