@@daviddave6796yep and this is KZbin not weibo or WeChat. Just try the same type of balance and give and take criticisms and see how far you'll go. I have mainland Chinese students completely duplicitous in terms of when they are in Singapore or Malaysia and when they're back in China. It comes down to something very simple in the end. Why are people afraid of the truth? Censorship is one way to hide from revealing things we don't want to reveal. So the bottom line question is can you trust a country which censors so excessively as China? What have they got to hide? If you hide information and control information that means you cannot ascend to higher levels of human development which desires freedom to question, critically as well as to innovate from diversity. How can a country or society innovate when information is controlled. While they have a huge reputation for copying as well.

It is actually relative. Certainly, the Chinese respect Trump MORE THAN they respect Biden. Trump at least is not two-faced when it comes to agreements . Trump will formally withdraw or tear up any agreement if he has no intention of adhering to it. Unlike Blinken, under Biden, where Biden will say one thing but the State Department will be doing the total opposite.

However, Walmart will still charge $25 for the cup. It helps the share holders more than the consumer in the long run. One day, we will not have jobs at all. Then we can’t buy the cup at all. Tariffs remove the price advantage of Chinese products. Yes, the consumer does pay, and it is up to the consumer to decide what they want to buy. If the tariffs increase the final price of a product, and puts it on par with American or European products, the consumer can choose which one to buy. Tariffs allow a level playing field for American products compared to Chinese products.

They just know what they are told 👇 Timeline of the South China Sea dispute * It has been claimed by the People's Republic of China on the argument that since 200 BCE Chinese fishermen have used the Spratly islands * Naval forces of the Liu Song dynasty (420-479 CE) patrolled the Paracel and Spratly islands.[5] In the Tang dynasty (618-907 CE), the islands were placed under the administration and authority of the Qiongzhou Prefecture (now Hainan Province).[5] The Chinese administration of the South China Sea continued into the Song dynasty (960-1279 CE).[5] * Archaeologists have found Chinese made potteries porcelains and other historical relics from the Southern dynasties (420-589 CE), the Sui dynasty (581-619 CE), the Tang dynasty, the Song dynasty, the Yuan dynasty (1271-1368 CE), the Ming dynasty (1368-1644 CE) and later eras up to modern times on the South China Sea islands.[5] 1876 - China makes its earliest documented claim to the Paracel Islands[citation needed] 1883 - When the Spratlys and Paracels were surveyed by Germany in 1883, China issued protests. 1887 - In the 19th century, Europeans found that Chinese fishermen from Hainan annually visited the Spratly islands for part of the year, while in 1877 it was the British who launched the first modern legal claims to the Spratlys 1902 - China sends naval forces on inspection tours of the Paracel Islands to preempt French claims.[28] Scholar François-Xavier Bonnet argued that per Chinese records, these expeditions never occurred and were backdated during the 1970s.[29][30] 1907 - China sends another naval force, this time to plan for resource exploitation.[28] 1911 - The newly formed Republic of China, successor state to the Qing dynasty, moves administration of the Paracel Islands to Hainan,[28] which would not become a separate Chinese province until 1988. 1946 - The R.O.C. established garrisons on both Woody (now Yongxing / 永兴) Island in the Paracels and Taiping Island in the Spratlys. France protested. The French tried but failed to dislodge Chinese nationalist troops from Yongxing Island/Woody Island (the only habitable island in the Paracels), but were able to establish a small camp on Pattle (now Shanhu / 珊瑚) Island in the southwestern part of the archipelago.[37][38][39] The Republic of China drew up The Southern China Sea Islands Location Map, marking the national boundaries in the sea with 11 lines, two of which were later removed, showing the U-shaped claim on the entire South China Sea, and showing the Spratly and Paracels in Chinese territory, in 1947.[28] The Americans reminded the Philippines at its independence in 1946 that the Spratlys was not Philippine territory, both to not anger Chiang Kai-shek in China and because the Spratlys were not part of the Philippines per the 1898 treaty Spain signed with America.[38] 1950 - After the Chinese nationalists were driven from Hainan by the People's Liberation Army (PLA), they withdrew their garrisons in both the Paracels and Spratlys to Taiwan. 1969 - A UN sponsored research team discovers oil under the sea floor of the island group. 1970 - China occupies Amphitrite Group of the Paracel Islands * In 1596, the Spanish Colonial Government declared that each island in the Kalayaan Islands, now known as the Spratly Islands, had Barangay or Barrio status. 1971 - Philippines announces claim to islands adjacent to its territory in the Spratlys, which they named Kalayaan, which was formally incorporated into Palawan Province in 1972. The Philippines President Marcos announced the claims after Taiwanese troops attacked and shot at a Philippine fishing boat on Itu Aba.[ Wikipedia

This is a long term view to grow your customers, which the US and the west lack.

Imposing tariffs and levying taxes are two completely different concepts. The former is paid by the product buyers, while the latter is paid by the product manufacturers and sellers. Therefore, retailers only care about making the maximum profit; they need high-quality and low-cost goods, and Chinese manufacturing still holds an advantageous position, thanks to their comprehensive supply chain. They can supply their products to retailers at unchanged prices, who then add a 60% markup to sell to the end users. So, isn't it clear who is really paying for Trump's tariffs?

policy change is something that China does albeit at times quite slowly but too often in Europe and the USA policies seem more entrenched whilst ruling governments change. I suppose it is a case of no one really wanting to rock the boat in what we often describe as democratic process. On a personal note I feel that the live and let live would go a lot more towards peaceful resolutions than the idea of there are winners and losers. I feel that too often the term winner is so short term as by winning they may well have reduced a market of opportunity that would have had a far better long term benefit.

What I'm curious is, even if you bring back manufacturing to US, who is going to do the job for the reindustrialization? Let's say like the fastfood worker, worker wants $25 an hour. probably most of the workload goes to machines, and have few peoples employed for the whole factory. With the tariff, let's say you end up with china made goods for $5, and US made goods for $7. but still outside USA, it'll still be $1. And because you can't export those goods because you can't compete in price in the global market, the market will be smaller, so you can't scale it up as much. Then because the stuff made in US is so expensive (small market, expensive cost), the worker scream even more that they can't buy anything. So they demand $30 an hour. gen z worker "I deserve everything" + dudebro MBA "cut cost everything" + shareholder "infinite growth". Probably end up with very expensive yet low quality products.

Spending days in China was quite disgusting actually. Taiwan has been very friendly and full of activities, I've been here for 5 years and I recommend it instead. In both cases learning a bit of Chinese gives a different, better experience, but not many people would have time to do that. This guy sounds like a shill. If you don't completely align with the CCP like that, or unless you're influential yourself like Elon Musk or something, you just won't benefit from China. Communist does not mean they spend money just for friendship.

.China products are cheap but the proble very low quality. The consumers preferred to buy. Best quality of manufacture product produce by other countries like Germany,Japan ,South korea ,taiwananf other european counties.

Quality is dictated by the buyer NOT the manufacturer. If the buyer wants to pay cheap he gets cheap products. Pay more gets better quality.

@richardong7742 . That's correct but mostly the buyer preferred quality product and reasonable price.

Because they haven't been in a single war since 1979 . The Americans on the other hand have been funding countless wars , coups and interventions on another nation from the middle east to latin america and into Asia . Nowadays the USA is juggling 2 wars while brewing another in the south china sea .. chefs kiss for that

There is no way USA is going to stand with China on the Taiwan issue, why? because the West has military and economic assets in Taiwan. The one China policy is just that... a policy that they use during business deals with countries... it has nothing to do with international law, or UN resolutions. Taiwan belongs to the Taiwanese, its a free country, not communist. PRC never had control over Taiwan. The last conqueror of Taiwan was Japan (not China) so the false claims that China makes on Taiwan makes no sense to anyone, its the same thing as Spain or Netherlands claiming Taiwan as a province from colonial times. I gues that is what China is doing.. they think they can colonize Taiwan.
