I scream NOOO everytime people eat dumle lollipops that way :'D You're supposed to suck on them until they melt, then you can drag it out in a long strand if you want to, I did that when I was a child. If you just bite it it'll stick to your teeth for a couple decades... :)

Sandra Bäck that's hilarious 😂 I'm going to have to give dumle another try now and eat it correctly. Thanks for letting us know!

Sandra Bäck I literally haven’t logged into this channel in well over a year. Decided to today and your comment was the first one that popped up :) My fam back home is healthy as of right now but it’s scary to watch from afar. Hope you and your loved ones are doing ok. We’re still here in Tampere and all is well with us. We recently got married! :D I have more updates on instagram @baibeary, I’d love to stay in touch!

@@AmeriFinn Great to hear your family is safe! It is truly difficult time. My family is healthy as of right now as well, got a small cough today myself but I hope it's the common flu. Staying home most of the time, luckily I have a job where I can work from home! Ooh congratulations on your wedding! I now follow you on ig :) Wonderful wedding photos!

I want to see what you think of the alcoholic beverage made for Helsinki Summer Olympics in 1952. The original Long Drink that we Finns fondly call Lonkero.

Riiight. But strangely it doesn't much help foreigners. But on the other hand, the beginning of your name should be internationally familiar. Even though in every language it is pronounced their own way. I heard in a video an Australian saying my nickname. It was a butcher.
@Padawan797 жыл бұрын
Ok, there are different variations of Lonkero. First, the original which is gin and grapefruit (light blue can). The variations are vodka lime (green can), gin and lemon (yellow can), cranberry and gin (purple can) and cassis and gin (kinda darkish puprle can).

Da Capo is one of the oldest Fazer brands. It has a interesting story behind the name. At the Fazer factory, end of the week, they had a problem with ending up with lots of pralines misformed, or otherwise weirdly shaped etc, which couldn't be sold. So they melt all of them together and created Da capo - "once again". Im sure these days Da Capo has a "real" recipe, but the taste should be somewhat the same :D

Capital S looked in 17’s century much like G today and little s looked like f today. But that is how they wrote letters 200 years ago. Sisu (not gifu). Jonnet ei tajuu.

@petrirantavalli8597 жыл бұрын
Da Capo is flavored with rum because once long ago in the roaring 20's it was made of recycled rom filled candies that for reason or another couldn't be sold.

If you love mint, you hate salty licorice (salmiakki). If you don't fancy mint taste, you probably loooove salty licorice. Luckily I'm into licorice.
@AmeriFinn7 жыл бұрын
That actually makes SO much sense! You lucky licorice lover :D
@Aurinkohirvi7 жыл бұрын
Some people have tried to learn love salty licorice. I think that's hopeless. It's instantly either love it or hate it. Something how your nerves are wired. When I walk past a candy department in a store, it's the licorice smell that invites me. We licorice lovers feel sad all people don't like it, because we think people miss a nice thing. But it really isn't a nice thing for everyone, for some it is horrible. And you know it right away which group you belong into. Yes, watching countless candy tasting videos I noticed and later started asking, if you like mint, salty licorice is probably horrible to you.
@AmeriFinn7 жыл бұрын
Aurinkohirvi this would actually be an extremely interesting scientific study! Dr. Licorice Lover :D
@Aurinkohirvi7 жыл бұрын
Right. Might also explain why salty and sweet licorice candies are so common here, almost like another chocolate. People wouldn't eat horrible stuff so much. The funny nerve-loop must be rather common among the locals. I hear it's also in Netherlands salty licorices would have some popularity. You know what, Finns are genetically like an island in Eurasia, very isolated. But surprise, of the European peoples the Dutch are genetically one of the closest to Western Finns. The Eastern Finns, the Estonians, the Swedes, the Sami, the northern Germans and the Dutch have the shortest genetic distance to the Western Finns. Quite a reach, but then again, who knows. Maybe it's a potential salty liorice sale region!

Haha! Very good video! Sisu is basically a throat pastille for singers and others who use their voice in their work. But you can also use it as an breath freshener specially if you're a smoker. Sisu is also a little bit outdated and there is lots of much tastier mints to choose. I think the old men buy Sisu the most. "Vanhat Autot" (Old cars) is one horrible "candy". It's very old brand and I can't believe someone still buy those. It doesn't even taste like licorice or salmiakki, it tastes just awful! I like the same stuff: Fazer's Blue and Kismet are my favorites too, including Geisha.
@AmeriFinn7 жыл бұрын
That makes so much sense now! Thanks for the help, we sure needed that explanation. We are favorite candy sisters haha :D
