I have tried Lays produced by Frito Lay India (you can get them in Indian Shops in the UK) and I really liked the Magic Masala Flavour which was hot and spicy. I’ve never tried Indian Kit Kats but I have compared British Kit Kats to American Kit Kats. Absolutely staggering difference. The British ones have a higher milk and cocoa content in their content so you get a stronger cocoa but smooth milky taste while the American ones were sweeter and with a less intense cocoa flavour. Being British, I of course prefer the British Kit Kats but the American ones were still nice to eat. I have however, compared Indian Coca Cola with British Coca Cola and I must say, the Indian Coca Cola is spicier and much more gassy than the British Coca Cola. British Coca Cola is still nice. The taste difference COULD be due to the use of sugar in Indian chocolates / candies. I believe the US version doesn't have sugar (at least not as the Indian one has), but uses corn syrup instead. I've heard there is some subsidy for using corn syrup over there in the US to support corn farming! NOTE: Just my thought, I might be wrong.
@anmolkale162 жыл бұрын
Actually it's due to the development process of Hershey's chocolates, like if you watch the full Adam Ragusea's video, he cut to in the middle, they explain regarding how Hershey's is different than Cadbury and why that vomit like taste occurs to some people. Also, If you ever had both Hershey, Amul ,Cadbury or any other chocolate , you'll notice that Hershey's has a very distinct taste to the other chocolates, which is cause of the same reason.

It has to do with how Mr Hershey made his chocolate recipe, American chocolate (im not sure how much) is made with butyric acid. It is decomposed fatty acids in the milk. This is what gives it its rancid taste. Try some Whittaker's chocolate, the kiwis make the good stuff.

Literally the only kisses that I ever liked were Hershey's Kisses Chocolate Truffle/Truffe au Chocolat from Canada. They were insanely good to my absolute surprise. But that was it. No other variant that (at least I have tried) from anywhere else has been less of a scary and traumatizing experience. And Karl, for Indian Diet Soda, you must try 'Shunya' which literally translates to 'Zero' for it does not contain any sugar. It's actually pretty good and comes in different flavours. Honestly a diet soft drink couldn't get any more Indian than this. It's classic cola variant is enriched with 'Ashwagandha', which is basically Indian Ginseng while the other one is Lemon flavoured which is enriched with Green Tea. One would probably not find a herb flavoured fizzy drink to be something exciting but it's actually really good. Basically Shunya markets it's products as health drinks but with fizz. While I cannot vouch for the health benefits from this drink itself but Ashwagandha is quite a powerhouse owing to it's potent composition of extremely beneficial substances. Also, for some reason that I cannot pin point, Shunya feels better quality compared to all other popular soft drinks I have tried. The best part is instead of using artificial sweeteners which are concerning according to several researches, Shunya uses 'High Grade Stevia Leaves' i.e. a natural sweetener. Which is why it doesn't have that weird sugar alcohol after-taste in the case of artificial sweeteners. And it's not just Shunya but there a lot of diet soft drinks have been popping up for quite some while in India. It's just that Shunya is the popular, easily accessible and pioneering one. Also India does have sour cream. Of course, it's not a popular ingredient but it's available. The most easy to access is indeed from none other than the legendary 'Amul'. And coming to cereal, there are lots of Indian brands which have exact alternatives of the various American kinds. For Chocos to be specific, there's Tata's Soulfull, Yogabar, Nourish You, Slurrp Farm etc. The only possible pluses they have over Kellogg's is they are made of multi-grain flour primarily consisting of millets, pulses etc instead of All-purpose flour and have slightly less sugar. Hence they have more fibre. However I am not a fan of cereal in general just like you. Also I did a little research on the different sweeteners used in Coke Zero in America and India. The discovery I made was well....interesting. Both versions use a mixture of two sweeteners; they both have one common sweetener (Acesulfame-K) and one different (Sucralose-India and Aspartame-America). Interestingly enough, Sucralose is not banned in America and is in popular use. All these sweeteners are approved and considered safe by FDA. Sucralose is a high intensity sweetener compared to Aspartame. Aspartame is no where as strong and can be unsafe for certain groups of people. However, all these synthetic sweeteners are just as bad and ironically, just as safe within the limits they are commonly used. Honestly, in this day and age there are Indian alternatives to literally everything available in the West simply due to rampant westernization. And for obvious reasons, it does bring along with, both bad and good.
