American Tries English Afternoon Tea Challenge Meant For TWO.. but solo!

Tucking into my very first Afternoon Tea Challenge at the Songbird Cafe-Bar in Elland, England! Under the watchful eye of @Beardmeatsfood and Mrs. Beard, I tried to become the second person ever to defeat Britain's BIGGEST afternoon tea challenge.. but SOLO! Teams of two have one hour to finish a tower of assorted sandwiches, meat pies, salads, cakes and sweets, along with a cup of tea or coffee in order to win their meal for free, a groovy medal, and a spot up on the Wall of Fame!

I'm from the UK and Afternoon Tea is dainty sandwiches with the crusts cut off. The cakes tend to be small and pretty not 1/4 slabs of gateaux. Never seen coleslaw ,pork pies,salad or pickle on them either🤣

I have actually been to afternoon tea with my daughters when they were younger. The American Heritage Girls troop in Omaha, Nebraska has an annual tradition of having a mother/daughter tea. It was one of the highlights of our year. We would have the little finger sandwiches and then some fruit and veggies and then the top layer would be the sweets. All of that would be washed down with tea poured from delicate china tea pots into our antique china tea cups. It was very posh, but we loved it. I miss those days.
