my dad has the exact same semi! 2000 Freightliner Classic XL. He's his own operator and owns his own rig. He's been doing this since 1989! I'm 18 and ill be starting CDL courses on March 28th! I'm pretty stoked about it

My dad drove an xl classic for years. Always loved that truck. When I would ride with him I had a lot of fun and got the best sleep I've ever gotten in that truck. His truck never had a jake break sound but you damn sure knew they were on. Anyway love the videos. Keep them coming brother

+Jeff Favignano, for future reference i drive the long modded trucks as well in game the best way i have found to do this delivery point is to pull all the way in as you initially did but instead of backing out to the road you should have utilized the empty space at the opposite end of the delivery point to turn the truck around, works like a charm (1. pull all the way in , leaving delivery point outside your drivers window. 2.Nearside back the trailer into the empty space at the opposite end of the delivery point. 3. pull forward and to the right, as if you were leaving the delivery yard. 4. Nearside back the trailer around the corner into the delivery yard 5. Pull up and straighten out the truck and trailer to prepare for the final step. 6. offside back the trailer into the delivery spot 6+. pull up and straighten truck and trailer out if needed. I really hope this helps you in the future Jeff and also i am a new subscriber but i check your channel EVERYDAY for the latest LSPDFR and American Truck Simulator videos and i am a HUGE fan of your play style and commentary keep up the great work Jeff!!! Funny, living in the USA all my life, and playing ETS2 for so long, Ive really became fund of Scania trucks and have become my favorite, but at the same time love American style trucks too.....Now, Im into the American truck sim since its nice and new and fresh. The real textures in American Truck Sim really add to the immersion of the sim and the amount of content has been unreal. This is really big long over due since 18 Wheels of Steel was the last time Ive played American style trucking sim.

Hey dude, I used to drive 18 wheelers and I loved them! The last ones I drove were Classics and both had 60 series Detroits, 1 was a str. 8 sp, but the best one was a 13 speed! You drive like a real Driver! You're doing great! If you did this in real life. you might not have been able to say "Perfect Driving Record", but congrats! By the way, most of the "Big Trucks" are called "Large Cars" or "Chicken trucks". Yeah they are 18 speeds with Cat engines, you can split each gear in low range and high range! No, ONLY CA, TX & OHIO have split speed limits, so you can run 75 MPH in NV & ARIZONA ON Interstate Highways. There have been a lot of different transmissions made and the mean REGULAR, STRAIGHT (H Gear shift pattern) Vs. Overdrive and DIRECT DRIVE VS. OVER-DRIVE (A GEAR IS IN OPPOSITE LOCATION) i.e. LOW, 1,2,3,4 click to hi -range 5,6,7,8 th gear, & w/ 13 speed you can split each hi-range gear so it's 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 (direct/overdrive), but w/18 you can split all & w/ 15 too (but more so for low range) vs O/D 8, 9 & 10 speed 1,2,4,3 (3 & 4 gears are opposite, so 4 on top and 3 on bottom) in both ranges, so you have to remember to go to 4th gear position for 3rd and 7th gear. Note: for 9 & 10 speed O/D, low is 1st gear, 1st is 2nd, 2 =3, etc.

coming from a truck driver the best thing you can do is if you want your trailer to go and put the trailer closest to the area you want to go into. and looking at this simulator and what you're doing it's actually pretty damn accurate everything that you did and the way you set it up is exactly what I thought was going to happen

Quick tip Jeff, when reversing around a building etc, line the truck up so its straight and next to the building, that way when the trailer swings in, you have more room for the truck. Also its better to straighten completely not like 45deg etc like you've been doing. Works better

For the jakes, Its conflicting with the pedals, make sure your throttle axis is zerod out completely when its not being pushed on.

For the deliveries to that place, I just pull in and set up to back into the open space next to where the guy is working on the steam roller (33:53 mark), then pull up the drive and set up to back in blindside to where they want it dropped. It's a little easier than working around the traffic back on the street.

This is especially useful in heavy traffic or when a truck passes you on the highway. If he has his signal on, and he has room to fit in front of you, he expects you to quickly flash your lights to give him the OK. If you do so, he will usually flash his trailer lights a number of times to say, "thank you."

One of the trucks I've driven (A 1969 Albion Reiver) hasn't got a Jake in it, so you just have to downshift to slow down. If you can drive the Albion, you can drive anything!

We used to have the Classics brother, the FLD. More specifically, a FLD112 flatbed truck for hauling sweet potatoes. We sold it to a hay guy in Texas two years ago due to the laws in California.

If you want a Great Customizable truck. Get the Peterbuilt 389 V1.11 (V2 is a buggy version someone converted over. V1.11 comes from the Mod Maker. You can find it on American Modder on Facebook.) Also he has a Tag Hotfix that you have to place above the 389 in the prioraties.
